  • The entrance exam case is a classic example of how rules work in Japan - i.e. there are rules and you're just supposed to follow 'em. Nobody should actually have to do their job and enforce them!

The world famous 'low crime rate' in Japan is just a symptom of a very low enforcement and detection rate.

  • CERCL :)

  • i listened to the podcast today at work, that part with the human like mobile phone is just plain weird, i mentioned it to a co-worker and we both agreed...........only in japan, thanks for posting.

  • @LosBats

Thanks. There's a video of the thing on the Japan Talk website.

  • Really appreciate your hard work

    Keep up the good work!

  • Is it really allowed to bring electronic devices into the exam room in Japan? The person who cheats in eams in germany that way will be punished too but I never heard about someone going to jail becouse of that in any country....... sounds pretty harsh to me

  • @Gell1welt69

Pretty crazy, isn't it? I thought the same thing when I first heard the news. Evidently, the exam monitors did not watch or enforce very carefully.

  • maybe one day using the net will be acceptable for tests. like the calculator.....it probably used to be called cheating to use a calculator, but then it became more *useful* to be proficient with a calculator than to do things in ur head.

maybe using the net will be like that too. a separate skill in and of itself. ? lol

  • we have that at my mall lol

  • @MsILOVEmilk

Is it the same mall? That was shot in Utsunomiya.

  • @japundit no i live in the us lol
