  • Had this car as a rental when I went to America. It was very nice inside especially the rear view camera in the mirror, 2010 model. Shame the acceleration was shit.

  • This car hauls ass for a V6

  • I own it, seriously, I love it, so far the best car my wife and I ever owned!! Thanks York Ford in Saugus Mass.

  • Why does it look so much like a 2000 VW Passat?

  • @SquareoftheyearFM

    You seriously need glasses!

  • rock on pops!

  • Check out the Aussie FG Falcon if you want a real ford family sedan. makes this thing look second rate...

  • if Ford is to succede it has to eradicate the legacy models (keep the best sell the rest) right now there are too many. It's just a black hole for cash, branding, dealership, marketing!

  • They are succeeding. Before every thing went to hell Ford was beginning to to turn profit. Starting out with 100 million in the first quarter.

What do you mean "Its just a black hole of cash?" The taurus is one of Fords best selling cars, and a lot of people LOVE them, My bother in law at a 500 that he really liked.

  • you want a good looking sedan have a look at a "AUSSIE" falcon. you americans cant design a good looking sedan...

  • Is this ugly or what? Seriously.

  • no , but it deffinetly is not as beatiful as the 2010.

  • it's really a ford mondeo underneath the U.S body .... or if you really get technical a mazda 6 floor plan .

  • The new volvo v70 2008 it's mutch nicer then ford taurus inside

  • I drove this car (AWD) it is very good car.(handling, acceleration, fuel efficiency, quite ride, spacious)

    I love this car.

  • I dont understand the American auto industry anymore, al those cars looks like if it came right away from Asia...

  • I bought a '93 fourd taurus gl on auction for 300$, and ive had it for 6 years, about 300-400 in repairs. Can u beat that?

  • ...and now Ben has left Ford and works for Chrysler LLC

  • jump from titanic to bismarck?

  • It's about damn time Ford gave a damn about the Taurus again. The 3rd and 4th generations were either too radical or to blan. Not to mention the 3rd and 4th generations quality wasn't nearly as good as the the 1st and 2nd generations quality when Ford really cared about the Taurus instead of worrying more about how many fleet cars they could sell to rental car companies like they did with the 3rd and especially the 4th generations.

  • This is a great way to show the car....kind of like an extended "vintage" commercial that focuses on the car. This gives me more reason to "go American"...I think we're catching up to japan and germany, believe it or not.

  • They are going to come out with a new SHO. Its supposed to have about 415 HP with a twin turbo V6. I can't wait!

  • link?

  • It would have to be AWD --If they did RWD They could sell the New Taurus as a replacement for the Crown vic

  • whats SHO?

  • Super High Output. Its the performance series of the Taurus...

  • MistaXB lol! I would love to see that to but its a Taurus.

  • I wanna see an SHO version of this thing with a V8 and rear wheel drive. They could get over 300 HP easily. But, I doubt that'll happen. Even if it did, they'd probably make it front wheel drive...

  • The combination of improved performance and fuel economy is impressive, great looking car too. Ford is moving in the right direction with cars like this.

  • how much liters does it take perf 100km?

  • best sell car ever, flag ship to ford after crown victoria

  • that new taurus is VERY nice. the interior is frikken gorgeous. my only problem with it is that its not as sporty as the outgoing model. but hell, its better overall. excellent job, Ford

  • its beautiful for real. i want it . crazy biggest thing they did that added over 100 HP from the old model lol. thats huge difference

  • I'm so glad they're bringing back the Taurus. I couldn't believe it when I heard they were stopping production. I said "That's not possible!". I liked the older styling a lot (both the 80s and 90s styling), and I like this styling just as much. The new one is FAST. It is a larger car, though, so the MPG is not incredible. But I want one!

  • The Aussie Falcon looks many times better.

And is RWD and with V8 engines.

  • This is one ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CAR!!! Thank-you ford for making my dreams for a *new* taurus come true :p yay.

  • The New taurus is so nice! i want one! but i have to say the transmission in the Mercury Montego (same as the new taurus, my grandma owns one) it seems to shift too early, too many gears make a standard 5 speed auto transmission.

  • i want one

  • exterior look gay. interior ok but same stereo as f150 truck, five hundred, fusion, and others change at least the stereo fusion look way better

  • Since when do Nissan and Honda build good looking cars?? Unless you're going to tell me the Versa and Element look nice because then I'll laugh. This Taurus is a 100% improvement over the prior model because of the higher horsepower and the better looking exterior.

  • wow, they made the new Taurus ugly as hell. The front looks like a Saturn. Why can't American car makers get it together and make a good looking vehicle like Nissan/Honda and others??

  • nissan and honda are junk! the new taurus is the most attractive car on the road i think! SCREW FOREIGN!

  • serious? lol you must be a redneck then.

  • Owensry, are you serious??? I'm owner of Taurus and I can't wait to buy Toyota again. I had Corolla 17 years old and I invested $300 (three hundred)in repairs. Can Ford match that?

  • ya, u probably got it out of the junk yard for 2 bucks. theres also probably holes in the floor, so you drive it like a flint-stone mobile!

  • lmaolmao lmao lmaolmao!!

  • Yeah Ford can

Recently Toyota has been having some chinks appear in its armor

Ford on the other hand has been at the top of the board for quality and safty

  • toyota has slipped , badly

  • My uncle has a Ford with 600,000 miles (he used it as a taxi & then he painted it black & now uses it as a regular car...still!!!)Zero repairs, all maintenance!!! Can toyota beat that???

  • In my experience with Ford vehicles, the only reason I got rid of them was due to high mileage.

I've never had to do anything major to them outside of regular maintenance.

Even now, I drive an '01 Escape with almost 200,000 miles on it, and the only issue I've had were the coil packs had to be replaced.

    FTW Ford!

  • @jayr545 Shit my sister has a camry, about 2005, she uses it about 5 times a year and all ready had to put a new alternator

  • I'm comparing this to the Five Hundred, I will tell you all that it is selling far better than the Five Hundred. I'm on the road everyday and I see more of these new Taurus's on the road than the 3 Y?O five Hundred. Clearly it's a hotter selling car. Great features, Decent price and Comfort, and reliability has to be good because the Fusion, Milan, and Five Hundred have proven reliable so far.

  • It may look like a 500 with a facelift, but it's anything but a 500. a lot of knew features were added to seperate this car from the 500. This was a smart move by ford to bring back the Taurus name. Everyone knows what a Taurus is and who makes it. No one knew what a 500 was let alone who makes it. Plus it would have cost ford 60 million dollars or more in marketing just to get as known as the Taurus. I'm glad they got rid of the CVT. My friend has a 500 and the CVT never felt right.

  • My dads in the car business and I travel with him to DEALER ONLY Car Auction. I've test droven a Freestyle and 500 both with the CVT. It just feels so weird while driving. I don't know how reliable it is but I see 05 freestyles with 80k and FWD going for $7500. With CVT but still a good deal. I might go for one. As long as the CVT is reliable, I don't mind.

  • Kevin Costner!

  • haha, I agree

  • has this guy hit pUberTy yet?

  • perfect car i wont one even better than the original

  • Thats very sharp, it looks alot better than the Five Hundred. Enough said... and toniason, you can take your piece of crap car jump in your trunk and have the president of Toyota drive you off a cliff.

  • Actually if you pull up the inflation calculator and you type in $17,995 which was the starting MSRP for the 1996 Taurus you will end up with $23,029 in 2006 dollars (it won't do 2007 yet). The 2008 Taurus has a starting MSRP of $23,245. Considering it has more room, a lot more safety features, more power, and a much better chassis I would say it is a great deal.

  • Beautiful Taurus and Nice Limited with the Merlot Color, But truthfully i don't believe that it will sell very well because it is more money than the old taurus, and ford's lease rates have gotten outrageous.

  • Great looking car and I love the Merlot paint. It will never sell as well as the old Taurus but I am glad the name is back. And FYI Five Hundred was supposed to be the new Taurus anyway but the brass at Ford wanted to name all their cars with the letter F. They need to make a hybrid version to make it more fuel efficient though. I hope it is as reliable as the Fusion too, Id love to see Toyota have to share the old reliability tagline with Ford.

  • They need to take that "largest trunk in America" and stick the engineers in there then drive that hunk of pig mess off a cliff, just an idea. :)

  • Nice presentation, I wish it was that good at presenting cars.

  • It's a Ford Five Hundred, which you introduced while you were still building the old Taurus. Two similar sized cars, and the Five Hundred was more expensive. No wonder it didn't sell, which is why you had to do this slap-dash name change.

  • Nice car, will sell well cos of the price
