Looks like the guy in the zo6 was taking a vid for his buddy in the talon. This wasnt a race at all. I dont think a talon tsi would outrun a supercharged zo6 vette. He drove it to and from the track, I don't know the laws in his state but I would imagine that as long as it had insurance/registration/inspection then regardless of what parts are street legal or not it's a street car. My own Eagle Talon is a street car with all of the above I mentioned and It made 700whp on a mustang dyno "street legal". That being said however it was parted out due to financial problems with the owner.

if you look at the video you see a black line along the strips when the gsx goes by the z06 the rear tails of the gsx plus the headlight of the z06 cast a shadow on the road that makes the strips look longer untill the car is far enough that the reflection is not strong enought to still cast a shadow it's called an illision he didnt speed up the take it's like staring at rim in motion the look like there spinning backwards hope this helps 4g63t for the WIN!

(foxgt50)It's not a camera trick and it's definitely not a stock talon. Search Jake montgomery, he's running 8.6s in the 1/4. The lines on the road only appear to be change speed. It's an optical illusion due to the position and angle of the camera relative to the lines on the road. The camera has to move faster to keep up with the car so everything appears to be moving faster. In reality this talon is faster than fuck and can pound the shit out of most foxbody 5.0s.
I'll admit I was wrong. The camera certainly makes it look like it though. & It doesn't matter to me if it would pound the shit out of most fox's... I'm not company biased, if it's good it's good. Next time you're in a car look at the lines closest to the car and then look at the lines further away. The closer lines seem to be moving faster. Fact is that's an 8 second talon, like it or not.

You must be out of the street scene. Most people ask for rolls when they're gonna run AWDs. Its hard to come by dig runs unless they the other driver is confident in his driving abilities. Where I'm from when they find out its AWD they tend to want a roll or nothing
the dsm has less money in it than the corvette costs, dsms are one of the most inexpencive cars to do up. the car probly cost 3k and all the mods it has probly only 14k not including labour but most car guys do that them selves any way.
i have a 92 tsi awd and my buddy has a 91 awd. His went 11.8 at 119mph in the quarter with very basic bolt-ons. Stock rebuild 6 bolt,Evo 3 16g, drop in 264/272 cams, 2g mas, rewired evo fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, safc. Still on sidemount also on e85. It doesn't take much to get them to move pretty decent. His build probably didn't even exceed 1000 dollars... Maybe you should research and see evil eagle as it is now :)

This car is AWD not FWD, so it would be even better for the 4 cylinder to run from a dead stop instead of roll. They do rolls so the v8's dont cry about it.

eagle aka chrysler aka dodge steals mitsubishi bodies and motors so its a american car with a japanese motor dummy. look at a talon and compare it to the eclipse same lump on the hood on the driver side. Same with the mitsubshi strarion and the dodge conquest both same cars except dodge put there symbol on a mitsubishi car but it still has a jap motor.

If the video had been slowed down or sped up then everything in the video would be changed too and it's not, just the lines on the road. Your camera man was a dead give away as were the lines on the highway going at what looks like 200mph to like 80 in .01 of a second.
I'm guessing the talon is stock n/a & the corvette is stock.
Nice try though. So i suppose that's why you have no sound on the video... can't get the engine sounds of a turbo dsm or supercharged corvette, let alone to match the speed of the cars?

(foxgt50)It's not a camera trick and it's definitely not a stock talon. Search Jake montgomery, he's running 8.6s in the 1/4. The lines on the road only appear to be change speed. It's an optical illusion due to the position and angle of the camera relative to the lines on the road. The camera has to move faster to keep up with the car so everything appears to be moving faster. In reality this talon is faster than fuck and can pound the shit out of most foxbody 5.0s.

I'll admit I was wrong. The camera certainly makes it look like it though. & It doesn't matter to me if it would pound the shit out of most fox's... I'm not company biased, if it's good it's good. I was actually looking up 1st gen dsm's when I found this vid. I own a mustang because it's cheap & has a good aftermarket, not because it's a Ford.+ i drive like a moron when I'm on private roads. If I wreck my car, I can replace the parts for next to nothing. You can't do that with most cars.

If the camera speed was being changed then everything in the video would speed up or slow down too. Look at the way the camera shakes bc of the camera man's shaky hands. Use the vette's headlight as a reference. The shaky motion stays the same just before and after the lines appear to slow down. Next time you're in a car look at the lines closest to the car and then look at the lines further away. The closer lines seem to be moving faster. Fact is that's an 8 second talon, like it or not.

Dont be ignorant, it's called "video editing". Any noob can edit a video for a certain number of "frames" and then bring the video back to regular speed. I'm not trying to brag but I have had my share of clipping and basic cgi (not saying that there is cgi involved here). Please research and stop defending this joke of a video. I'm telling you to look closely at the lines on the times I indicated. Replay a couple of seconds before and after the times I posted. You'll see.

You must be out of the street scene. Most people ask for rolls when they're gonna run AWDs. Its hard to come by dig runs unless they the other driver is confident in his driving abilities. Where I'm from when they find out its AWD they tend to want a roll or nothing

i have a 92 tsi awd and my buddy has a 91 awd. His went 11.8 at 119mph in the quarter with very basic bolt-ons. Stock rebuild 6 bolt,Evo 3 16g, drop in 264/272 cams, 2g mas, rewired evo fuel pump, 1000cc injectors, safc. Still on sidemount also on e85. It doesn't take much to get them to move pretty decent. His build probably didn't even exceed 1000 dollars... Maybe you should research and see evil eagle as it is now :)

suprisingly its only 205, and thats the tsi all wheel drive, but if it has modifications it could be more, but you really cant take a stock one of these and give them over three fifty unless you change the whole car itself
