I've always loved this song, but even more so now that I've lost my mom. She & my dad would have been married 57 yrs this coming Dec. 27, 2010. Sadly we lost her 2 colon cancer Sept. 3, 2009. I've never thought abt them in this manner till 2day when I was listening 2 this song with my grandkids (7, 6, 4 & 3 yrs old) & it made me think of mom being dad's ""partner"" 4 the rest of her life. I don't know how many are aware of "round dancing," but one of my sweetest memories was dancing to Anne Murray's "Could I have this dance" with the husband of the caller. She was such a good caller, and he was such a good dancer. I felt like I was dancing on clouds. This was in Melbourne, Fl. I wish I could remember their names. They brought such joy to so many people.

I love this song. My mom & I used to dance to it when I was younger. She died of pancreatic cancer June 13, 2008, 4 days after her 66 birthday.

I've always loved this song, but even more so now that I've lost my mom. She & my dad would have been married 57 yrs this coming Dec. 27, 2010. Sadly we lost her 2 colon cancer Sept. 3, 2009. I've never thought abt them in this manner till 2day when I was listening 2 this song with my grandkids (7, 6, 4 & 3 yrs old) & it made me think of mom being dad's ""partner"" 4 the rest of her life. Mom we LOVE & MISS U GR8LY!!!! Thanks DANDELIONJP for postin this. Thanks ANNE MURRAY 4 sharin ur talents!!

I am so sorry to read that, ma'am.. please accept my heartfelt condolences even tho it's been almost a year now. I read something recently, and it said: 'Do not think that someone had passed on. Think instead that they had gone ahead a little earlier so that when YOU get there, you can bask again in the warmth of a home that they had created.' I think that is a VERY comforting thought!

I don't know how many are aware of "round dancing," but one of my sweetest memories was dancing to Anne Murray's "Could I have this dance" with the husband of the caller. She was such a good caller, and he was such a good dancer. I felt like I was dancing on clouds. This was in Melbourne, Fl. I wish I could remember their names. They brought such joy to so many people.

I'm 15 and love this song. This was the song my parents were supposed to dance to at their wedding, but the DJ's equipment broke down. They danced to it at my aunt's wedding two weeks later, it was the same song my aunt and her husband danced to. Both of my parents died in 2009. I love them and miss them. <3
