Only REAL hip hop heads, usually cats my age( i'm 32 0 or who grew up in tha late 80's, who can TRULY appreciate, FEEL and UNDERSTAND the importance of Gangstarr and groups from that era. People know Premier, but he isn't know as well as say, Dr Dre or Kanye. i wont even mention Kanye in the same breath as Preemo, Dre yeah he ise a legend but i think Preemo is trhe most important DJ ever...not the first, just the best

for pete rock & c.l. was easy,..they were from New york,..Gangstarr came to New York and stamped hip hop all over the world,..thats the difference,...thats harder to do ,..when you aint a native New yorker,...Guru> boston Premiere> Texas......Ganstarr> NEW YorK ( BRooklyn) and yes,..Pete & Cl..are one of the best too...

Gang Starr and Pete Rock and CL are basically the same group.

If Gang Starr would get the nod for being the better group it would rest primarily on the fact that Primo & Guru were far more prolific as both a group as well as individual artists(as well as pioneering the Jazz influence in rap.)
