@ARepublicanVictory I know politics had to do with the U.S. defeats that is what I have been saying, politics determines the outcome of war just as much as any battle. The enemy was willing to trade more blood for victory than we were. It is possible that we could have won given more time, or maybe not, who knows? The Vietnamese were tough, they fought and defeated the French, Americans and Chinese, one right after another, underestimating a enemies determination is a dangerous thing.
@ARepublicanVictory lol A Tactical Withdrawal* Saying that.., means that U went to a country fucked its people over for no apparent reason and then left. Indeed go Red White and blue But what really happened U wasted shit loud of tax pairs money sacrificed allot of good people then spit on the once that did came back "alive" and in the end still got fucked over lol not hatting just saying... Admit ur defeat if u loose preserve some dignity for mistakes u make
@ARepublicanVictory Well unfortunately victory is not counted in the number of bodies produced, the U.S. failed in its goal of keeping Vietnam from becoming communist, likewise in Somalia the U.S. failed in destroying the militias. War is not fought in a vacuum and also involves political and economic factors, both at home and abroad. The U.S. may have won the battles but they lost the war. Their enemies accomplished their goals and they failed in theirs if that is not a defeat then what is?
Countries that the U.S. defeated/fought with: Japan, Germany, South Korea, all rich modern countries, with many freedoms who where re-built with American money. Countries who defeated the U.S.: Vietnam, North Korea, Somalia, some of the poorest countries on earth with low standard of living. Maybe if the Vietnamese would have lost to the U.S. they would also be rich and modern country today!
Russia still have nearly 5,000 of these T34's located in underground salt mines for future usage. Their theory is that modern tanks on both sides will be destroyed quickly so why not break out the old tanks and over-run the enemy with thousands of them. Makes some sense. When the USA gets all it's modern tanks destroyed what will they do for Armour?
@romanlegions Well T34 saw limited use again puppet South regime! It was T54 which fought again M48 and they're not bad.I didn't saw a report about T34 vs M48
T34 was used as training vehicle. Some was operated in the mountainous region in Laos to fought again H Mong Rebel.T34 however was actually used in some battle but not much. They was replaced by better T54

VNMIG, Hello, thanx for the reply!! I did see photos of Su-100's, somewhere but I don't know where. Point is that I did indeed find reference to use of the T-44, but it seesm only for training. However, I simply cannot find the source, & I have some more books of my own to search through. Not any Americans underrated the T34/85 because it was only faced once in combat against USA crewed M48's & the M48 was vastly superior. Even the M41 Walker Bulldog light tank with its 76mm gun used by ARVN was able to knock out T54/55's. Against the M24 USA Light Recon. tank the T34/85 was vastly superior.
