  • he went around......wow....glad thats the most exciting thing in the world. friggin news media should be censored.

  • effing KOMO , there was a bomb scare at the kingston ferrie terminal today, there were about 5 news choppers , and they kept flying over my neighborhood , and it was very annoying

  • And that's the wind that caused a major blackout to so many countys for a couple days... Painful...

  • @yourhot266 couple days? uh, some places were out for a month! fortunately my home was only out for about 12 hours.

  • @ERAUPRCWA A month?! Mine was out for about 4 days. 4 days without T.V is painful. Man, you were lucky lol.

  • nice job landing it..

  • thank you for sharing.

that had to have been a sweet ride

  • it's so annoying when they talk about stuff like that on the news because those people have no idea how hard it is to land any aircraft in gusty let alon something like a 757

  • @Cactus732 757 is actually pretty easy to fly.

  • @beergut111 i'm sure it is on a calm day but the unpredictability of wind gusts makes flying anything very difficult this pilot has it under control all the way to the flare and then that last gust is the one that caused the problem

  • @Cactus732 its not anymore difficult in wind than anything else. it takes the gusts better than most planes.

  • @beergut111 I didn't mean to seem as if I was saying it was it's just a big plane so when it's been knocked of the approch path like that it's hard to recover

  • so fucking funny his vice is so annoying i dont know how people listen to him everyday lol and i know this passenegers were shitting there pants praying to good to land safely and i bet they gave the pilot an applaud for his successful landing

  • thats amazing skill, bravo for that pilot!!!!

  • I never seen a dancing 757! cool!

  • Lucky bastard...*

  • That was definitely PIO

  • amazing how you could tell the pilot was a person of Indian origin!

  • Damn, get that pilot a scotch on the rocks and pronto!

  • amzing ! I It's so impressive

  • That happened to me in Dublin airport. Its fuckin scary!

  • holy shit

  • is that a 752 or 753?

  • 753

  • This reminded me of the takeoff from Norfolk VA when I flew a couple of years back.

  • must have been a slow news day...

  • @rode1979 no that was probely cause tthe weather was bad that year

  • Happens a lot. I've been on some landings in Memphis when this happened just above the runway. You get off the ground and you're fine. Its getting back down that's risky.

  • this kind of thing happens all of the time. im a pilot myself. if anyone gets worried, just remember that cars are still deadlier than airplanes

  • define a "plane breaking down"

you forget planes are maintained by professionals regularly and comparing plane crashes to car crashs (including death toll) cars r far deadlier

  • No its not. and 99.5% of emergencies are brought down with no injuries. So shut up.

  • Why is his fault? the pilot must become god and control the weather too?

  • @rode1979 idiot it's not the pilots fault when the plane breaks down unless he saw a crack and did nothing or flipped the wrong switch or took off in a overloaded plane.

  • took my first flight in 10 yrs a week ago i was so terrified but NORTHWEST ROCKS i seriously had a blast and yeah it was fun! the take off and landings were perfect even on the small 70 passenger planes

  • the pilot really thought there

it wouldve been scary to fly in that plane

  • yes it wold have been scary but dats why norhwest pilots are one of the best in da buisness

  • yeah ur right

  • those passengers should of received complementary underwear after that landing!!!!

  • nwaairlinkazo,

LOL! You're right about that! XD! And could someone please pass the Charmin?

  • Comment removed

  • props to the pilots!

  • I wish I was on that plane! I love thrills! :) Great job, pilot. Yes, we did have a big wind storm... and that was on my 40th birthday!

  • watch you die XD

so much for your thrill then haha

  • wow! scary! great job, to the whole entire crew.

  • well done..

  • omg scary! well done though! :)

  • smart pilot

  • I remember this. I live about 30 miles south of Seattle, and watch KOMO 4 everyday. In December '06 we had one of the biggest windstorms we'd ever had. Thousands of people were out of power for weeks.

I remember seeing this video and thinking, "Holy crap, did the pilot fall asleep or what?"

  • Canadians viciously attacked aboard this fascist airline!Left in pool of blood! Northwest Airlines Racial Profiling Attack upon my family and 3 years state persecution since!

aaronjamesstory (dot) com They are illegitimate faction and illegally gave 6000 CD's to FBI of personal passenger profiling information . Now we have the 72 hour waiting period before flying - they are the cause. *see nwaracialpersecution (dot) blogspot(dot)com/

  • did anyone notice the rudders on the tail fin

  • That is crazy, winds was like 50+mph?

I didnt think planes can land in that condition, whats next 100+mph winds?

But great job pilot, u get a reward.

  • Maximum crosswind component is 40 knots in the 757 so it's safe to say winds weren't 50+ knots.

  • Who said anything about a crosswind?

  • Lol shes like 50

  • if it was bad weather why did they let it land?

  • what are they supposed to do? stay up there forever?

  • I know ha they should have flown to new york and landed

  • ops, they may not had enough fuel.

  • Ill hope the passengers didnt get a heart attack, ill almost had one watching it happen.

  • whoaaaa, looks like the landing gears about to come off, that is some pretty goood springs....they have.

  • What do these reporters and news stations do, wait at the end of a runway for something bad to happen?? Venomous blood suckers! Good last second decision on the pilots behalf to perform a go around.

  • it would have been a spotter there who filmed it...

  • I don't drink but after that I would have gone to the bar Wow! oh I flew in a week later to the date rain but calm winds hails to the flight crew on that northwest flight as in one comment they earned their pay that day

  • All I know is I would be screaming bloody murder if I was on that flight

  • I so trust our nwa pilots, these are the kinda days when they earn their pay

  • Yeah! They should get a bonus or something for that. :)

  • Hahaha.. Wouldn't that be something......

  • Yeah, that would be a laugh. All the pilots fervently praying for some REALLY srong wind to strike up so they can strike up the bonus yet again. :)

  • I'd be all over the bonuses.. :)

  • The pilot was either great or had too much coffee and produced the oscillation himself. For the sake of kindness, blame it on the weather!

  • He was over correcting a lot wasn't he? lol

  • im sorry i didnt see the lack of wing fences your right it is a 757 my bad

  • No, are you blind? It was a 757...

  • thats some good flying them spoilers came up and i never seen that with an airbus on landing this is an a330

  • A330? No way thats a 757...

  • The passengers are must pray to this great pilot.

  • GREAT PILOT!!!!!

  • Yes that's a very good pilot (but i'm biased)

  • do they ever direct planes to another runway in that situation?

  • If I remenber Sea Tac only has E/W runways so it wouldn't make a diffrence, but even at a regular airport with runways N/S/E/W there only going to operate the runways going once direction. In aviation, takeoff and landings always go into the wind.

  • Sea-Tac airport has three runways that face north and south, runways 16LCR and 34LCR, the third runways will be finished pretty soon.

  • Nice post, yes that would have been a tough day for aircraft at Sea-Tac. The aircraft is a Boeing 757.

  • i dont know my airbuses but i am guessing that is an A330

  • bring em up were goin around

  • cant blame the pilot. The winds were gusting 65 and 45 sustained that day. Some places on the coast got like 85 knot gusts. Nearly all of Western Washington lost power that night. The winds were so bad they knocked out the main transmission lines from the power plants and they had to repair those.

I didnt think landing a plane in that wind was possible. The pilot was VERY good.

  • its called crosswind landing, wind going at u at 65knots per hour. the pilot used more jet power to compensate landing speeds. actually the pilot was able to get off the ground quickily, so i say was around 180knots as he was landing. normal landing speed is about 145knots-150knots. yeap ure right, the pilot is very good and save the company fuel money by not going to another airport.

  • i bet he got a call from his chief pilot the next day. hey capt joe you almost lost her there better send u back for re-training.

  • I lived in Washington during that time and it sure was windy. That was a big storm that we had that pretty much knocked out power throughout western Washington. I have a friend who works for American Airlines as a pilot and he said that flying into Seattle on the 15th all you could see were transformers blowing up.

  • I love to go around ...lol :) check it out my video ,cancel the landing

  • Those conditions would have been a good reason for a diversion to Vancouver or Moses Lake.

  • Any reason is good to divert to Vancouver.

  • @Palal12 hahaha good one :)

  • That is stupid, it was a messy landing so he tryed it agian...DUH! No reason to go to Vancouver.
