Hi Davie great pattern, really realistic! Using the rabbit strip is genius! Would spring salmon take this? And maby smaller sizes later on in the year? I would really like an excuse to tie this!
Glad you like the dressing, I would never say that it wouldn't for if you fished it like any other fly there's every chance a Salmon would have a go....Let me know how you get on.....
hi dave nice pattern i was wondering could you tell me about badger hair i came across a road kill badger and put him in the boot of the car the river i fish in ireland the old hands recomend wee badger jobbies for summer which part of the badger has the best hair for flies hope this isnt a stupid question but said badger is getting smelly,ps i fiss the finn in donegal and i dont believe there is a fly named after the river perhaps you would like to tie something we could call a finn fly
There's one or two Rat patterns which are worth tying especially using the well marked hair along the back. If I was you I would dye it in other colours like orange, red and yellow to say a few and mix it into other patterns..
This is an excellent crayfish pattern, one of the best I've come across and looks quiet easy to tie. Luv that trick with the rabbit strip, great idea.
What is that material your using that you wrapped between the claws to separate, looks like an estaz or similar material.
Like you said it's an estaz like material, it helps to lift the claws as well it has a bit of flash but you could use what you like to get the same effect. I'm glad you liked the dressing...
it looks familiar? if youv got some of the old videos could you upload im not sure what is was called i think it might have been your own olive sedgehog emerger, crackin pattern and colours.
I'm fine thankyou..Yes the last six videos are from my old account which I feel are good enough to put back on..I know the pattern you are looking for but to be honest I would like to film this one again so I'll be putting it back on very soon.....

you make it look so easy davie, what line would you fish this one on davie, and would it be a single fly only, happy wrappings, davy antrim.

Hi Davy,
At least a 7# line would handle this fly o.k, also fished on it's own as well so that you could concentrate on presenting it close to the bottom...
