  • Love the captain Nemo style boost gauge. Looks like the 951 was getting held up. I feel for the driver in not wanting to crash his car, but I think there were some opportunities he could have taken

  • Actually i love the 16 valve motors alittle more than the turbos.less power but better torque in and out of bends

  • Its not all driver the 951, when built right can handle the bends alot easier .power dont mean much on the bends.in this video u see the 951 taking the inside lane into a bend and holding it into the straight while the gt3 swings to the outside lane.thats why i love this vid and the 951. real porsche racing should be won in the bends

    If the 951 driver were in the GT3, this would be no contest... There's no substitute for skill.

  • I don't even think he's still competing in this car. Haven't seen him on the forums for a long while. He's in Holland. I think this motor was somewhere approx. 400bhp. So, yes good to keep the Cup Car honest.

  • @prvjet Yes, that's what I thought. I mentioned this to the driver who is also the mechanic. He said it's not, but didn't say what it was.

  • @333pg333 well its definately a strong engine, my supra use to do that only under heavy load eg. 4th gear....

    just get him(mechanic/tuner) to take a few degrees timing out under full boost should be fine.

    nice car friend does well to keep up to a gt3! :)

  • Honestly didnt expect the 944 to hold a candle to a gt3, i think thats awesome that it can keep up, gotta be that turbo and the awesome handling they were so well known for.

  • Nicely done !! The video just inspired me to take the 944T out for a spin; darn I love that car. It's an open secret - any Porsche cup that runs 911's doesn't like to see the old timer joining forces on the grid and compete against $200K cars - and wins :-)

    The best bang for the buck is still today the 944T - THERE is REALLY no substitute ;-)

  • jOOhOOst, why tune anything then? Not everyone who can tune a 944turbo can afford a GT3 and then there is the challenge to beat something like the GT3 in a 20 year old car. The car in the video only has about 350hp and he is racing at a very similar lap time. Wait until there is 500hp in there.

  • Yeah, but that GT3 is 390PK (BP) that 944 is like 320PK (BP) its of course awesome to drive a 944 that high tuned vs a GT3 Cup but after sereval years its not worth that much and all cash u invented is gone , remember that 944 is not ''orginal'' anymore so u cant race more against 944 , DNRT is the only classe u can driv in is the sport,supersport 944 basics u cant drive in more thats not really fun well ur kinda right , its awesome to beat an car out 2003-2005 in an old 944.

  • Sorry S944Porsche, I meant on the one in this clip? He's obviously not stock. Looks like a pretty lightened race car. Just wondering on the actual mods to the engine etc. Size of motor 2.5l or bigger. Size of Turbo k26/6 or k26/8 is stock but what is in this car? If anyone knows more about it, please tell.
