  • What is the song's name in the beginning?

  • this looks beautiful...totilas looks happy....but now...the only thing i can see at totilas is pain..rath seem to love him see in hypertension...i cant understand...under gal he look that much happy and thats what this makes beautiful

  • If only he sold his horse to me really cheap or for free but i love my horse aswell

  • this horse moves like he has been programed, totally effortless 100% beautiful

  • It is really amazing to see someone riding dressage, without using rollkur :')

  • i have noticed with this horse he always has such high front leg action. Is that something he just does or was trained to do. I don't think i have seen him not move with his legs that high

  • I would love to be able to ride like that! And what a beautiful horse!

  • I want to be JUST like Edward Gal when I am older!!:-)

  • Dit paard is zooooo geweldig!!:D:D

  • you gotta hand it to dressage riders. Being able to manipulate a horses body to do things yet look like you are just sitting on a horse is no easy task.

  • Everyone! Give Rath a chance! Edward Gal had trained Totilas for years to come to this point. Rath havent had Totials for long, and it takes at leat a year to build up a partnership with your horse. Wait another year and lets se who's wrong. Don't judge Rath to fast. He is a good rider and need to get to know Totilas and know how to push his buttons.

  • It's so sad to see Rath with Totilas. Edward Gal and Totilas, they have a very special bond..

  • It gives me the chills very time!! what a horse.!!

  • I'm always so into dressage but I don't have patience to learn it. I need the speed but I love dressage it's so magical.

  • this is so amazing it makes me want to cry...baaaah

  • The Moorland stables are only two minutes from where I live. Too bad they sold Totilas. Biggest mistake EVER!

  • Perfection. Never get tired of seeing this kind of beauty.

  • it's such wonderful, nothing more to say.. a pleasure

  • All what im saying is... That horse is amazing!!! i love that horse<3

  • I love to watch this amazing video, Edward Gal is a inspiration for me. The first time I watch this I was moved to tears, such beauty, partnership, skill. When ever I have a bad day riding my horse I watch this video to inspire me, to reach my goals.

  • A pleasure and a privilege to watch. Raises goosebumps.

  • 22 dislikes...Matthias Rath clearly has a lot of youtube accounts...

  • Rath won't be as good as this. Gal brought out the good in this horse. It's gone will Rath.

  • Ohmigawsh! Holy extention to collection.

  • Anyone know why they changed riders? No guessing...real facts!

  • A horse curves its neck that way freely. It has to use that shape to properly work with its body, if the horse was uncomfortable it would just put its head up. You can see how responsive and gentle the rider is in his hands. A bit and a bridle can only hurt a horse IF the rider is doing something wrong, and if the rider was doing something wrong then he probably wouldn't be competing in dressage.

  • @Vraan lol its so funny when people try to be experts on horse videos

  • does anybody know the music from 4:50 ???

  • @Mephistosbraut I think it's from Pirates of the Caribbean

  • @Coocie15 yes I thought so but I wasn't sure... thank you (know I have to find the title of the song :D )

  • @Mephistosbraut It's 'What Shall We Die For' from the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End soundtrack

  • @Mephistosbraut It's 'What Shall We Die For' from the Pirates of the Carribean Soundtrack (:

  • @Sasukrap Thank You ;)

  • Their not hurting the horse!!

  • Someone please shut that cunt up!

  • FUCK THE WOMAN COMMENTATOR

  • Humm... PERFECT !!! *_*

  • The most fantastic horse i've ever seen! he is soo beautiful and i love how he does the freestyle...that is horse training.... Great job Totilaa

  • 10:08 of pure beauty. I think I'm going to cry!

  • I love the music (:

  • They are awesome! It makes me cry when I see the picture at 03:17!

Do you know what is name of the song?

  • @CallexisNion

I Think it's "Emerald Tiger" from Vanessa Mae. The other ones are from "The Symphonic Jean Michel Jarre" and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 OST.

  • I've been away from dressage for over 20 years and I see this! Jeez! It looks like somebody snuck some saddlebred in there. I mean, it's beautiful, but if all those Totilas kids have his action, the rest of us poor slobs will never compete again on our regular horses. Also since when is sidepass done in passage? Is that new or was I not paying attention?

  • @Squashnmoon Sidepass? Are you referring to the half pass? Been done since the beginning.

  • Whoops.. Comment was a bit long. Anyway, they do a little skip and swap legs without breaking the canter (flying change). One time changes are when a horse does a flying change with every stride and so appear to be skipping.

  • @Spottedtv He is doing one time changes. To explain that, when a horse is cantering they are leading with either their left or their right foreleg. You can tell which one because it appears to move further forward than the other one. Horses should be leading with their inside foreleg when cantering circles (unless they're doing a counter canter). They can change leading legs by either coming back to trot briefly and picking up canter on the other leg (simple changes) or by doing a little skip t

  • @horsegirl812 It is basically also called 'one tempi'

  • I loved watching him perform! I'm relatively new to the riding world myslef, so I don't know terms and such. Does anyone know what Totilas is doing at 5:40? :3

  • @spottedTV Not one time changes-one tempi, flying changes or some posh term called the qu-something

  • when i first saw this horse move i was like damn, im in love! omg.. the best team ever! a perfect horse and an amazing rider! there will never ever everr be another team like this!

  • I loved!!!!!! when the horse piaffed at 0:58!

  • That is just gorgeous but i HATE the pressure on the horses mouth and now its getting that bad that horses are now starting to bleed bcoz of lack of freedom horses have on there own heads :( but look so stunning

  • @metalchick66666 Do you even know that the saliva in the mouth is good? And whatever you do with the double bit the horse will still stay collected, besides you can't do any proper flying changes, half-passes, pirouettes, piaffes, and stuff without the horse maintaining contact. Can you name a combination better than this??

  • @WinKody so i take it you have read the latest on dressage that is it starting to b a blood sport??? they are pulling on the horse 2 the point that they are bleeding from the mouth by the sounds of it ur the kinda person that wouldnt give a fuck if ur horse bleeds and only care about looks???? i love the movement and the way it looks but when it gets 2 the point where the horse can not move its head and starts 2 bleed then i say fuck it, it has nothing 2 do with the bit its the hands its in

  • @metalchick66666 There is abuse in every sport but this horse is not abused. Sometimes you will see blood because the horse bites its tongue. You cannot *bit*or *hold* correct movement. If you could there would be a flood of Olympic horses. The beauty of real dressage is the free, natural movement of the horse. When the horse is moving forward from behind and relaxed, the upward carriage of the neck is natural and relaxing to both horse and rider.

  • @TheDesertDenizen doz it say anywhere that i said THIS horse was abused??? NO IT DOZ NOT, IT SAYS= That is just gorgeous but i HATE the pressure on the horses mouth and now its getting that bad that horses are now starting to bleed bcoz of lack of freedom horses have on there own heads :( but look so stunning, ALL IT IS SAYING IS i love the movement the dance i just HATE the tightness on the horses mouth and neck SO GET OVER IT, READ COMMENTS PROPERLY B4 COMMENTING B4 U MAKE TROUBLE

  • @metalchick66666 No wonder y ur commenting on my posts ur only 14 how bout do sum reading on the subject b4 commenting

  • GOOSPIMPLES!!!!!!

  • OMG!! PERFECT!

  • Rath will never reach this level with totilas as edward did.

Totilas did everything for him gave everything he had because they had a real connection and I think that no matter how many years it takes before they come back again they will still feel the same with each other.

    Comrades for life.

  • even though im german...i think totilas was much, much better with edward gal then he would ever be with rath!!

    my opinion....

  • @xchocolate93x you are so right ! you shouldent say .. my opinion , its all the peoples opinion! :)

  • Perfect music and perfect team between Totilas and him. Partnership indeed!

  • Such an impressive horse, no wonder he's worth millions!

  • I sat at my computer watching this with my jaw somewhere around my knees.

  • goose-flesh !!!

  • Look at him! He's so elegant! The way he holds his hind end up and the natural frame. The half passes, leg yields, piroette (sp?) and everything else! Amazing!

  • @LeapOfFaith808 There are no more leg yields in Grand Prix

  • @WinKody That was a half-pass and much more advanced than a leg yield.

  • @WinKody That was a half-pass. Much more advanced than a simple leg yield.

  • who in there right mind would dislike this video?!?!

  • "I don't want to say to much" Then why can't you shut up?? Edward and Totilas speak for themselves!

  • That commentary lady needs to shut up, she ruins it, you cant understand her anyway and she talks over the music.

  • Totilas has such beautiful movement, and Edward Gal is such an amazing rider! He just takes my breath away when I see such a team. They're in sync and you can feel the connection! It's utterly breathtaking!

  • I am also one that believes mathias rath wont ever be as good and have such a connection with totilas as edward gal has done

  • Edward and Totilas were a dream-team. Now he is here in Germany and I think Mathias Rath will never be as good as Edward with Totilas.

  • @TheAllahab : sorry, i can´t agree with you - i still find that Tortilas has a much better chance with Mathias Rath as with Edward Gal - because Edward Gal is a Hoodwinker - in front of the Public he is the nice Guy - but behind the Scene he rides Tortilas in a "Rollkur" (sorry, i do not know the English word for that - please ask Google ) that is so sad , that i hope that Tortilas, a very, very Exraordinary Horse get´s better with Mathias Rath...

  • @Gruftschnecke0809

Everybody has an own opinion . I also saw a few pictures where Gal rode Totilas in Hyperflexion and that's very sad. This wonderful horse deserves something better. Maybe you are right that Rath rides him more softly but I just think that Gal is a better rider. I just hope that Totilas is happy now and that he and Rath will be a good team one day.

  • @TheAllahab : yes, Edward Gal is so long a better Rider, as he don´t ride horses to hyperflexion or other bad things - but i must still say that i although saw a video in what Mathias R. rides Totilas similar near hyperflexion as Edward... so i still can´t distinguish who of both rides Toto worse - i mean, hyperflexion is a very bad thing - and EVERY Rider who think to must use this to win, is (in my eyes) a sadful, bad rider - no matter what name he/she had... sorry for my broken english..

  • @Gruftschnecke0809 : and i hope too, whoever rides Toto in the future, makes sure that the Horse feels better ( and maybe that Totilas can a few Hours per Day see the grassland )

  • @Gruftschnecke0809 I'm American and I don't think there is an English word for Rolkur, if there is I don't know it :(. I competed in dressage before college, and I love it, but I hate how some people stray from the classical methods. Totilas isn't an example of this, but with many horses trained in the "modern" sense, you end up with a horse that might have flashier movements, but they are incorrect. I've seen some upper level horses that don't even have a true 3-beat canter :(

  • @Gruftschnecke0809 Do you even know that hperflexion in the training ground is seen all over Europe, they don't do it that hard, the aim is that an unexperienced horse will look around but you must really hide it while pushing with the seat

  • They are best buddy's, sadly you really don't see that connection with Rath!

  • This beautiful horse and its rider Edward Gal will never be the same since the horse is sold to Germany. Never again will we see horse and rider so perfect together. I must admit I always have to cry. Why is there nobody in Holland to purchase this horse again and bring it back to Edward Gal.

    Michèle de Winde/Nieuw Vennep/Holland

  • imagine if Blue Hors Matine was still alive their babies would be like dressage heaven

  • which music is it at 06:14? what is the name of the song?

  • All of his paces are stunning. His natural exaggerated leg movements are what makes him so special. Possibly the best canter pirouette and flying changes I have seen in a long time :)

  • I'm not a horse freak, but this gives chicken skin and tears in my eyes, great emotions!

  • is it even possible to get a 100% in dressage?

  • beautiful but a shame that that woman just keeps on talking get here of this film please jak

  • I KNOW. Its like, shut up, we cannot hear you!

  • @Pari28 what can she at to this. what Totilas and Edward does needs no speak to

get here of this film please can someone help us

  • this is beautiful... :D

  • Totilas is Edward Gal's creation. They are like one soul and mind in two bodies. I doubt Rath is ever going to recreate that connection resulting in such amazing harmony and beauty.

  • Both horse and rider are amazing!!! :D

  • This moved me to tears. Totilas is amazing.

  • Poor Horse, he had never seen grass!

  • @MailinlovesMozart I suggest you educate yourself on how the Dutch horses are raised and handled. They are in the mountains at grass until brought in for training.

  • Comment removed

  • the commentator is probably correct.... you probably won't see a horse like this in your lifetime.... it is truly fantastic

  • These two are absolutely amazing! Brought tears to my eyes.

  • I want this horse... He is sooo beautiful!!!

  • It is Pirates of the Caribbean Soundtrack. Nothing less than the best could back up that score

  • Such an elegant horse..

  • anky quit dressage because she saw this kur

  • @wh0reship Is that a joke or?

  • @lanaluciclavcevic yes XD

  • 'if this horse was a gig take that would be his support' a BBC presenter who isnt horsey said this, he must be well informed! and i love edward gal, he looks so grateful for that standing ovation and you can tell he really loves totilas

  • i could never ride this horse unless edward gal himself told me to, he is the only person who should ride this horse not his new rider if i was given the oppertunity to ride this horse id say no cos this horse deserves the best rider there is

  • wow... here we have the best horse and rider pair since like... forever! My gosh, this is amazing. This is proof to why horse riding is a true art form and sport! Outstanding!

  • totilas is a god in form of a horse

  • Totilas is a god in form of a horse...

  • It seems like yesterday the first time I saw this...

  • the video gives me goose bumps!

  • If riding a horse is so easy, then why the fuck is it an Olympic Sport? All horse riders are ATHLETES. It doesn't take some wikipedia research and a few lessons to become as good as this. Horse riding is a lifetime of devotion, excruciatingly hard work and patience. Precisely how Edward Gal became the best rider in the world and pulled off a badass %93 Freestyle!

  • @Sasukrap I think all horses are athletes, and the partnership and bond they create with their riders it the key to them learning to harness their power and perform like this. like creating our own language. I have horses of my own and I like to think of it like this, so I never lose my temper or give up x

  • that horse is phenominal id like him better if stephen petters when on him just cauz hes american

  • i have many friends that believe that this is a piece of cake: "you're just doing the basic transitions with circles and what not"... they have no clue how wrong they are. this is the most gorgeous performance i've ever seen

  • hes amazing!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Power ~ agility ~ elegance!!! Breathtaking. Non horsey people don't know what they are missing when watching this horse perform. Such a fantastic partnership between horse and rider to create amazing movements and make it look effortless which we know it most certainly is not. Will we ever see the likes of this horse again? Will his sister or progeny live up to his unbelievable talent?

  • Watching this gave me goosebumps all over.

  • One thing is for sure, both horse and rider love their job.

  • How can anyone dislike this video? If anyone has ever ridden dressage or even just watched it you have to be impressed with this one. It just does not ever get any better then that, It is impossible. the only one that may ever break the record is Edward and Totilas, but now that is never going to happen. They were a perfect pair. truly amazing to watch and learn from.

  • sad totilas got sold, only edward can handle such a fiery spirit like totilas.

  • Why did he only get 92.300 ? He should have 100.000 % instead... No one can do this better.

Too bad though that they took Totilas from him... :(

  • I showed this to my mom:

"Look at this horse mom, isn't he amazing?"

    "Yeah, he's cute."

I just don't get non horsey people..

  • woww this is amazing!!

  • 9 people haven't ever sit on a horse

  • he looks like he's floating and gliding across the manege. He is an inspiration.

  • TROTS OP DIT NEDERLANDS PAARDJE (l)

  • completly amazing! tortilas is just buetiful

  • can someone maybe tell me the names of the songs? espacially the first one...Thanks =)

  • I'd like to know the names of the musical pieces used here. Does anyone know what they are?

  • Incredible. Just... incredible.

I'm just starting dressage this year, and this inspires me

  • what person in their right mind could possibly dislike this video?!?

  • Seeing him win the WEG, 2010 kur, was awesome too!

  • this is amazing i can watch it over and over again

  • from 4.49mins to 5.20mins what is this song from/called as i recognise it but can't remember what its called and its annoying me now so help any one?

  • @horseland1 Pirates of the Caribbean :)

  • i don't no why but i get butterflies in my stomach when i watched this and it seemed to bring tears to my eyes for some reason. No words to describe this but AMAZING !! (:

  • i could watch that over and over... amazing horse <3

everytime i'm watching this, i feel like: WOW! *-*

and i'm not feeling this way often...

  • I actually cant stop watching this <3

  • this is stunning, Totalis is a legand, what we should aspire to achieve! :D

  • omg i was so disappointed when this horse got sold he is a champion dressager n now he will be a showjumper, ah i just can imagine him being any better than this

  • @2101lovelilly a show jumper :S why is he a show jumper he still dressage just different team bought him.

  • @carlydarkes whoa im confused i read somewhere he got sold for 1.2million to be a showjumper then i read he got sold to be a dressager for Germany?????? i think the dressage is more beleivable, but just dissregard my last comment?? ive confused myself

  • WOW!!!!

  • Parece que vuela:)

  • I love how the female commentator said, "I don't want to say too much because I want people to enjoy it", then wouldn't shut up during the entire performance. Luckily the music drowned her out.

  • He is a magnificent stallion. This performance was much better than at WEG 2010. Too bad he could not be bred to the Horse for ALL Time: Blue Hors Matine!! She loved her work and it showed in every step. What a loss.

  • Never change a winning team! Poor Edward poor Totlas....

  • great horse but I still think blue hors matine has him beat any time (if she was still alive *crying*) he is good mechanically but she has the heart like she loves what she does and wants to please as much as she can I feel that he likes what he does but he does it because he is trained that way not because he want to do it. just my opinion

  • Does ANYONE know the song in his performance? It is amazing!!!

  • @RobertRyanRanch Piaffe/Passage is "Oxygene 13",

by The Symphonic Jean Michel Jarre Orchestra. The Trot music is "Equinox 4"

by the same orchesta. The walk music is "Song from a Secret Garden" by Secret

Garden. The Canter music is Vanessa Mea's "Emerald Tiger" and "What Shall we die for" byHans Zimmer.

joost peters make the kur for him

  • He is MAGNIFICENT!! I am a bloke and I want to cry!! such an amazing animal!! :')
