Although I do think that all of the old hotels' days on the strip were over, a better way to deal with these classic hotels were to just move the buildings to the downtown area to give that part of town even more of a nostalgic feel than it already does now. I prefer preserving history rather than destroying it but these hotels had to disappear from the strip one way or another since they wouldn't be able to compete with the megaresorts on the strip today.

Right now, I am researching old Las Vegas Casinos. This song is great! Wish they could play this at a rave. It sad to see these wonderful old casinos be done away with (should have kept the Dunes sign! Would have gone great in the Neon Museum!) Good thing they put in the Stardust. They made a mention of her which is nice. Great video, great song, what a great place Las Vegas is.

a little observation i would like to make, the song most people says sucks, but it fits certain parts of the video eg the hacienda were the song sounds demented, you cant see anything and the sad part as the sands falls down, however i dont like how its so happy whilst las vegas history is turned into rubble

Anyway, I LIVE here so I don't have any need to visit any casinos, hotels or walk the strip often, I live a "regular life" in my house or business like anywhere else in America, (and I enjoy watching things blow up in a safe manner.)

Vegas is a mere ghost of it's old days. Fricken kids everywhere and Disneyland attractions all over the place. Yuck! My late father Bill Rogers was the arranger and concuctor of the Frank Sinatra Orchestra and the Frank Sinatra Jr. Orchestra. He also did the Jerry Lewis Telethon arrangements for 20 years. He wrote for scores of people in Vegas including the Rat Pack guys and was a monster in his field. R.I.P. Dad. :) Bring back the MOB days when a musician could at least make a living there.

city center owned by MGM is the newest one, Planet Hollywood replaced the Aladdin, and yes, Mandalay Bay is the new Hacienda, the street leading up to it is still called Hacienda blvd. back in the day they knew how to throw a demolition party, but ever since MGM took over Vegas, you are lucky if you even hear about it on the news.
