Okay dumb question, but this song was out way before that Bo Selecta sketch comedy show (which I've never seen)-- what does that phrase mean and what does the show have to do with this song? Anybody? (Great track though, this does take me back to the good ol' club days).
@shmoker2010 "Selecta" means DJ. "re-rewind when the crowd say Bo! Selecta!" I *think* means "play that again (rewind the record) when the crowd says 'DJ, that's good!'". I'm not sure on the meaning of the word "bo" however so I'm just guessing. As for the TV show, one of the "impressions" (the most famous one, initially) was of Craig David.
Thumbs up if James Bond brought you here! I'm 16 & a real big James Bond fan, especially the newest additions to the franchise with Daniel Craig. I never knew he was part of a hip, edgy, UK urban dance troupe before his success with Bond! Which one is he? Is he the glum chubby looking fellow in the sweater at the start? He's changed a bit since then but it seems that voice has always been fitting of the 007 monicker - smooth, suave & sleek perfect for secret spy missions or pressed to viny.
@harveyderf Little known fact: Daniel Craig, though a long time thespian, moonlighted as a smooth R&B singer, lending his buttery vocals for many popular early 00 hits! He adopted the moniker 'Craig David', as he wished to maintain his acting street cred, & I feel this was a wise move. I mean, would anyone believe that 007 could CROON like this? They hired some skinny beareded model to lip sync, & thus "Craig David" rose to super stardom & Daniel Craig was able to become a box office LEGEND!
@jasonismyhomie So Craig David was a nom de plum of sorts for Daniel Craig? Essentially how P Diddy the musician is a separate entity to Sean Combs the actor? Do you think Daniel Craig is embarrassed of his past? I mean, he was lending his vocals to a pair of weird looking bald guys in wooly jumpers and answering silly calls to say 'bo' and 'selecta' at their whim. It's a shame he couldn't have worked with a producer to really showcase his vocal talents.
@mints06 O by the way stupido one of them two in the wooly jumpers wrote the best part of the first and third album of Craig David's if I'm not mistaken, so I can confidently say that Craig is quite chuffed not embarrassed.

If the Artful Dodger had been the frontman in R.E.M., I'd have put him on the record player and spun him round on the record player.
