@dasdew2 I would say save up a couple hundred more and get an Arsenal SGL, they're original russian receivers and barrels and just better quality. Guns are a neutral force, and can be used for anything, but in my experience, fewer revolutions that end in freedom occur than revolutions that end in tyranny with the AK.

@dasdew2 The SKS would be fine for hunting deer, it just depends on your range. 150 yards max I would say. Here in Oregon where you can't see past 50 yards in the dense forest it works fine. I would get a mosin though for hunting, accurate and cheap. mauser 98, arisaka, and springfield all use the great mauser action (although the arisaka is an improved version), so I would say they are pretty much equal in terms of accuracy and for the most part quality.

Cool but I don't like the shiny paper mash look. I would like it matte. Ohh and it would be cool if you also had a detachable lower hand-guard since you have a lockable upper hand-guard. And you should have the magazine locks some lower so the magazine is deeper in the rifle, cause it wobbles a bit.
