This is sickening. Seeing all of these dogs being tortured, and feeling so helpless. Now that I have seen this video, I will only rescue dogs. These people are unbelievebly cruel and just unbearable. Being an animal lover, this is one of the most upsetting videos I've ever seen. Stop this and put it to an end forever. This just broke my heart and disgusted me at the same time. Every single dog I've ever had im my life has been a pound puppy. They are without a doubt the most loving dogs you will ever meet. I know a lot of IGNORANT people believe that dogs don't have much intelligence, but believe me when I tell you that when a dog has lived through and survived something like a animal shelter or puppy mill, they never forget who saved them! They'll be your best friend for the rest of their lives!

I've adopted a purebred pit bull, italian greyhound, mini-pin and basenji through our local Human Society and my next furkid will come from the shelter or a rescue as well. With thousands upon thousands of animals being euthanized every year why would you need to go anywhere else?

Dogs from private rescues generally live in foster homes, are micro-chipped/needled, and adopted out on a spay/neuter contract. Avoid newspaper and online ads, it's another outlet for millers. Even someone who breeds their pet once a year is guilty of small scale milling.

puppy mills are horrible, and buying a puppy from a store you run the risk of promoting these, buying on line ask questions and if you can check out where they live. a good breeder will answer your questions, generally only breed 1 or 2 breeds.. and generally don't always have puppies. My old room mate bought a toy poodle from a pet store. It had mange. Obviously a puppy mill dog, and probably taken away from its mother early to encourage it to stay "cute" longer. I told him he was supporting puppy mills by buying from a pet store, and he said, "Aww, but I felt so bad for him in his tiny little cage, whimpering at me! I couldn't just leave him there!" Well, ya, that is the ploy. As soon as you buy, they stick another puppy in, and the puppy mill business thrives.

Get your pets from shelters, it's where I got my dog and whenever I put her in her cage when were going somewhere she bawls and bawls I think she might have been at a mill because we got her when she was 12 and she hadn't been spayed
I have also gotten most of our pets from a shelter. There have been only two that we didn't, they came from friends who had had kittens and needed to give them away. My two recent kittens came from a shelter and I'm plan to go back for more when the time comes. Which I don't want anytime soon.
people who have farms are the ones who get into the puppy mill business. Its just how they treat their livestock, they do the same things to chickens, pigs and cows. Very sad.
NEVER buy from the pet shop! We got our dog off the streets of Compton CA. She's a mut, some sort of shepherd mix. She was a puppy when we found her. She was sooooo skinny & had a string tied so tight around her neck that she couldn't breathe. She now sleeps in bed with us & is GREAT with our 3 year old. And she's smart as a whip. Trust me, your rescued pet will thank you every day for the rest of their lives through love & companionship. She is truly a member of the family and she knows it:)

Dont save the dogs, The money you pay for the dogs will just go right back into the breeders hand to produce more puppies. the best thing to do is not buy any and get awareness out. Its extremely hard not to buy any but unless you want the guy to have more puppies than dont buy from auctions.
Dont buy from the auctions. you will put money right back into their pockets to breed more. go there and see but dont buy. They tend to have the rescues pay full price or an individual not the breeders themselves they pay at the most half of what it says it goes for. Down with puppy mills but dont support them from buying from the auctions you dont help at all if you do that!

This is so sad to watch. There is either a law in the works or recently passed that's hoping to stop that - from what I remember, something about they're required to have someone official inspect the premises while the animals are there to verify they've had vaccines, food, water, are in good medical condition, etc.

Buy a puppy from a breeder...a real breeder who's breedign dogs are show dogs not puppy mills...or go to an animal shelter. They have puppies too who need nice homes. I myself would go to a shelter unless you are lookign for a certain breed. Also check out diffrent dog rescue groups, usualy mother dogs are rescued and will have pupies and the people need to find homes for the mother and all her pupies.

To tell you the truth, someone should go and locked all these evil puppy mill breeders in these cages and make them suffer the same pain and torture they put these dogs through. These auctions should be illegal and shut down along with the puppy mills. I feel sad for all these dogs. No animal deserves this. They are not products. puppy mills are horrible, and buying a puppy from a store you run the risk of promoting these, buying on line ask questions and if you can check out where they live. a good breeder will answer your questions, generally only breed 1 or 2 breeds.. and generally don't always have puppies. They don't over breed nor do they just throw out the older dogs.. do your homework.. Amish almost always treat all animals that way, they are a means to an end, to be used, they believe that

there is a way to end this and it is a simple as adopting a pet from the pounds and other rescues and shelters that are in your city or town.. Common sense tells you that going to a pet store aids these practices. There are plenty of pure breds and young pups in shelters.. Dont they deserve a chance?

My old room mate bought a toy poodle from a pet store. It had mange. Obviously a puppy mill dog, and probably taken away from its mother early to encourage it to stay "cute" longer. I told him he was supporting puppy mills by buying from a pet store, and he said, "Aww, but I felt so bad for him in his tiny little cage, whimpering at me! I couldn't just leave him there!" Well, ya, that is the ploy. As soon as you buy, they stick another puppy in, and the puppy mill business thrives.

I have also gotten most of our pets from a shelter. There have been only two that we didn't, they came from friends who had had kittens and needed to give them away. My two recent kittens came from a shelter and I'm plan to go back for more when the time comes. Which I don't want anytime soon.

NEVER buy from the pet shop! We got our dog off the streets of Compton CA. She's a mut, some sort of shepherd mix. She was a puppy when we found her. She was sooooo skinny & had a string tied so tight around her neck that she couldn't breathe. She now sleeps in bed with us & is GREAT with our 3 year old. And she's smart as a whip. Trust me, your rescued pet will thank you every day for the rest of their lives through love & companionship. She is truly a member of the family and she knows it:)

Dont save the dogs, The money you pay for the dogs will just go right back into the breeders hand to produce more puppies. the best thing to do is not buy any and get awareness out. Its extremely hard not to buy any but unless you want the guy to have more puppies than dont buy from auctions.

They tend to have the rescues pay full price or an individual not the breeders themselves they pay at the most half of what it says it goes for. Down with puppy mills but dont support them from buying from the auctions you dont help at all if you do that!

This is so sad to watch. The Amish are really a bunch of disgusting, lying people, who want everybody to think they are religious, "God fearing" people--and they are the greediest bunch of pigs out there. They have no regard for anything but themselves, and should go to prison for what they do. Laws need to be passed for domestic/companion animals to distinguish them from livestock, and to give these animals the care that they so desperately need.

There is either a law in the works or recently passed that's hoping to stop that - from what I remember, something about they're required to have someone official inspect the premises while the animals are there to verify they've had vaccines, food, water, are in good medical condition, etc.
The last I heard, the big one in Thorpe has been shut down.

Buy a puppy from a breeder...a real breeder who's breedign dogs are show dogs not puppy mills...or go to an animal shelter. They have puppies too who need nice homes. I myself would go to a shelter unless you are lookign for a certain breed. Also check out diffrent dog rescue groups, usualy mother dogs are rescued and will have pupies and the people need to find homes for the mother and all her pupies.
