  • Awww! That is so cute :)

  • I lost my 12 yr old sheltie today, he was my little shadow and I miss him so much, this video made me smile thanx for sharing

  • @fhhs05 They were all seniors and we are down to 4 now. What would your advice be? To dump them at the kill shelter? I tried to find homes for them but it's rare for anyone to open their home to an old dog with health problems. We mop our floors daily and they run in our fenced in yard all the time. It's only unhealthy if they are neglected or if I neglect myself.

  • loving animals is a good thing, but having that many is just unhealthy~

  • how many shelties do you have? xD

  • If i came in ther ei would be like...

    ._.

    *walks slowely away*

  • yes they are :). 4 of them went over the Rainbow Bridge in the past 3 years. I miss them terribly.

  • Is these all your shelties?

  • At the age of 15, my Shetland Sheepdog soul mate died in mid-September. Among many other things, I miss his happy little barks so badly...

  • @John1MN I'm so sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you are going through. Four of the shelties in this video have gone over the rainbow bridge. Walter, Lexi, Stanley, and Sadie.

  • LOL It's like they're going through the 5 stages of grief. Shelties are one of my favorite breeds. They're so cute.

  • I love this! I have a Sheltie, too... Check out the You Tube Clip I have of my Sheltie running around a tree endlessly! .....haa, haa! :)

  • @marcchatow Shelties are adorable, love your sheltie running around the tree. :) Thanks for commenting on my video.

  • why so manyyyyyy

  • @julsxbby they are rescues, most if not all were scheduled to die for no other reason than they were dumped by their owners. sweet dogs.

  • @TennesseeShelties I had a Sheltie His name was Shadow and he was the best dog i ever lived with.

  • Lol my sheltie always barks when she hears this video play.

  • they are Beautiful!

  • They are all really cute but 7? You should have giveaways! xD

  • Unfortunately they were all rescues and they came with anxiety from what they went through before I rescued them. But rescues are well worth the effort of helping them recover. They have to learn to trust people again. The thing that is the most important to remember about shelties is they chase anything that moves, cars, kids, other dogs, birds, etc. Best to have a fenced in yard for them.

  • Will the anxiety affect how they act in the future? Thanks for answering my questions!!!!! I really apreciateit (:

  • They are really sweet dogs, but some of them have anxiety, no aggression. Shelties make good family dogs, but best for people with older children since they do tend to herd anything that moves...

  • @TennesseeShelties

My sheltie tends to have anxieties too, bad enough where you'd think she'd been abused. And we know she wasn't because we brought her home as a 5 1/2 week old puppy, and she's never been beaten or neglected (in fact she's more abusive to us when we wrestle, lol). She even lets our cats boss her. O.o But I love shelties, they're awesome dogs. I lived with 2 as a kid, and now 1 as an adult. They are great dogs (but you MUST be tolerant of constant barking). Shelties forever.

  • So they don't have anxiety or agression?

  • actually, we set up security web cameras and check on them while we are away and they don't bark once they know we have left the house. They seem to listen to the garage door and when it shuts, they lay down and go to sleep. Good dogs.

  • @TennesseeShelties I really love this video. It makes me laugh because my sheltie does the exact same thing. He is devastated when we leave him...if I pick up the keys he is at the back door just determined as ever to get in the car! Shelties are a special breed for sure!

  • If you leave them for like 8 hours a day everyday will they be barking the whole time?

  • My sheltie braks ALOT. especially when I leave the house. I see he isnt the only one. I cant figured out how to train him and Ive tried everything.

  • @rocamericansweethart It's hard to stop a sheltie from barking. If they feel you are in danger, they bark, if they feel someone is leaving the house, they bark, if they think they are going to be alone, they bark, lol. If the doorbell rings, they bark. Yes, they can be trained, but not without a great deal of patience, and positive training. We use treats and toys for positive training but as you can see, they still bark, lol. I don't mind the barking, though.

  • @TennesseeShelties LOL my sheltie just sleeps!

  • @rocamericansweethart LOL my sheltie just sleeps!

  • There is so much cute in this video, it's awesome :) Do you find it a challenge owning so many dogs? I think I counted 8. I will soon have a sheltie in my house and I am very excited. I had one when I was younger but she got sick in 2002 :(, and a year after that my sister got a new sheltie. I will be taking care of my sister's sheltie for a while and I can't wait :)

  • hey i thought i'd ask you a question since you have a lot of shelties, about how much does a female weigh fully grown? my research is getting me anywhere from 14-20 and even 30 pounds.

    thanks for your time, ian

  • @iantodaro Actually a sheltie can weight as much as 50 pounds, but that is a large oversize sheltie. My biggest sheltie, Walter (R. I. P.) was 38 pounds and I used to think he might be a collie, but his AKC papers showed he was all sheltie. And he wasn't fat at all. He was very tall and large, he had huge paws.

Most average shelties are about 23 pounds. Many breeders try to downsize the breed and include poms in them, but they can end up with an oversize heart and other organs.

  • @TennesseeShelties So ...how many exactly?

  • i have a sheltie and she is NOT smart

  • @taylorswiftfan5600 - all shelties are smart, it must be the teacher that is failing to get the message across.

  • Comment removed

  • Aww, that's sweet. Shelties are very intelligent. Is your sheltie a rescue? Thank you for taking care of your new sheltie.

  • i just became a proud daddy to my very first sheltie and i couldn't be happier. in her first day home with no prior experience, she's already potty-trained. they're such smart and sweet animals, it just blows me away!

  • I'm terribly sorry to hear about your losses. You are a wonderful woman to be in rescue! My best friend has a Sheltie (he's a tad on the smaller size like yours on the right at 1:01) and they truly are amazing dogs. They're very smart and extremely loveable.

  • Do you breed cavi

  • that's a lot of dogs

  • I started the video...and the dogs kept coming! SO many cute dogs!

  • haha my cat started hissing at the speakers

  • Aah....poor sad little puppies! Yeah, that's gotta be a LOT of barking. We have one and I have taught him the command QUIET, with varying degrees of success.....

  • The one walking away back from the gate with the smug look on his face around 56 seconds looks just like one of my Shelties.

  • I thought that one was a handful! You have how many, seven?

  • Awwwwww the howling!! So cute yet sad, lol. Yeah mine gets crazy when we leave, he runs in circles in the backyard as we pile into the car to go to dinner or work. But my sheltie will rebel sometimes if he's by himself. He looooves the trash if we leave the pantry door open and will look pathetically guilty when we get back and discover it, lol~

  • This lady has over 9000 shelties!

  • they're in pack mentality lol

  • The 14 people who dislike this video have no hearts. My first dog when I was a child was a Sheltie (Aspen)...after I moved to my own place I got three dogs, one Border Collie (Cedar) and two Shelties (Sable, and Sarsaparilla).

  • Sadly, three of my shelties who were in this video have died. Walter, Lexi, and Sadie all went over the Rainbow Bridge from cancer, old age, and kidney failure. I miss them dearly.

  • @TennesseeShelties

    RIP

I am so Sorry for your lost

  • @JiGibean Thanks. It's been hard, in rescue. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. These shelties are my furbabies.

  • Hahahah wow 7 shelties!!! That's crazy. I love my sheltie -33

  • Oh how funny! Thanks for posting. I am working on a new video. It's just taking a while.

  • aww poor dogs mine throw partys when i leave

  • When i leave my dogs go through my emails and try on all of my clothes

  • @thefunkyworm1 That's too funny, lol. thanks for watching my video.

  • mine used to howl like the world has ended

  • I love it! I even showed it to my sheltie mission.

  • my shelty does the same thing!

  • hahahaha patting the legs and having them jump up. I do the exact same thing with my sheltie.

  • I aspire to one day have as many shelties as this amazing woman. I will use them as fluffy pillows when I sleep!!!!!

  • that one sheltie is HUGE!

  • I love shelties! Please check my puppy vs baseball on my channel:)

  • how the hell can 13 people dislike this ?!

  • awww that was reallllly sweet. i'm planning to have a sheltie (maybe 2) in 10 years time :D when i have my own apartment and some money in my pocket, that is ;]

  • goddamn that's a lot of dogs :D you got a regular pack going there.

  • LOVE your pups BTW!! They are all awesome!!

  • I have an amazing sheltie and he doesnt bark much. He only barks if someone is coming home or if he hears my truck pulling in. No barking for food, toys, treats. If I say the magic words "Do you wanna go for a walk?" he will bark.

  • I used to have 5 shelties from breeding and yours are so cute i will always love shelties. my dad has 1 and me and my mom and brother have 3! we love them soooo much. they are very good at protecting!!! <3 miss my pasted ones! :('

  • I have a sheltie and her name is "Gabby" [I named her when she was a puppy before we knew how vocal she was]. She barks like nobody's business and someone, when I was in high school, asked me if I lived "the house with the crazy dog in the window". I love her to death and now the barking just doesn't phase me. I went to Germany and didn't see her in over three weeks. Hearing her bark on the other end of the phone was like sweet music to my ears.

  • @fairestovmuses I am so happy to hear that you don't mind the sheltie bark. We love our furbabies and don't mind (too much) the barking. They protect us when someone walks by the house at night, I feel safe with them being here. We are down to 3 less shelties, 3 have gone over the rainbow bridge and we miss them terribly.

But I am glad we took good care of them. They were old, one was 14 1/2, 12, and 11.

  • @TennesseeShelties Mine is now 11. We had a rough collie before her and the collie died two weeks after we got her[the sheltie]. She has a lot of arthritis issues and probably some anxiety as well. I'm sorry to hear you lost some of yours :( I'm sure you'll have a nice greeting when you go! Yeah, the barking can get extreme. We just shut the door/window if it's too much and she typically refocuses and goes and plays or goes out back and 'secures' the property.

  • PS sorry about the tons of the same post. I thought it wasn't appearing but I just needed to scroll down a bit >.<

  • thats alot of dogs

  • Java is a sweet name for a sheltie. The two main reasons people give up their sheltie is too much barking and herding. The third reason is too much fur. They cause alot of work and are not for families with small children due to their strong herding instincts, but they are faithful, loyal, sweet, loving, smart, and generally one of my favorite breeds. Thanks for posting. Give your sheltie a hug for me. Glad you love your sheltie.

  • I have a sheltie, and his name is java. He is the greatest dog ever, but there's two things wrong with him- he has TONS of hair, and barks too much... But he's a sweet dog :)

  • there sweet dogs i have 2 ones on my channel

  • Aww makes me miss my 2 shelties Jake and Jolie.

  • i have a heltie named Tickles and a cockapoo named Nuzzle and Tickles barks ALOT

  • Since you live in a townhouse and are concerned about the barking disturbing your neighbors, it would be better for you to have a dog that does not bark as much as a sheltie. Shelties are known as barky dogs. That's what I love about them. But many people don't like that. Perhaps a cat?

  • @TennesseeShelties Don't buy a cat!!!

  • @TennesseeShelties My sheltie rarely barked unless someone was outside the fence (privacy fence) or someone was at the door. Not all shelties are vocal.

  • I am thinking of getting a sheltie, but I don't know about the barking. I live in a townhouse and if the dog barks too much then I'd have to take it away, something I really do not want to do. =(

Is eliminating the barking impossible? Because, for example, if my sheltie barked as much as yours whenever I left the house, I'm sure someone would complain....

  • @linnyya Shelties bark a lot instinctively... it is their nature to be alert watchdogs and will bark at anything unusual. I have two, and they are one of the best things that ever happened to me. But I would not recommend a Sheltie if you (or your neighbors) can't bear the barking, because it happens. I'm not sure what you mean by 'take it away" - please only adopt a dog or puppy if you can look after them for their whole life!! That means 10-15 years for most Shelties.

  • I am in Heaven, except for when they pass away. That is hard. We lost a total of 4 so far. (cancer, heart disease, etc)

  • @TennesseeShelties . I have lost 2, but I always get another one. Mine have been rescues and they have brought me so much happiness. They rescued ME instead. I love this breed, they are the best! They are so beautiful, and have great personalities!

  • omg so many shelties. id be in heaven

  • I have a toy sheltie and a pomeranian/sheltie mix. This reminds me of both of them perfectly, mainly the toy sheltie. She's such a neurotic dog, but very entertaining.

  • well what if ya had only one? At leaste these have a buddie.7 buddies.I have 5 dogs one is a barker sooo exsighted fella.Nice.Until cold nose when you sound asleep ooo yukie but that ok good morning.

  • I miss my sheltie..he was such a SWEET soul. I cry :(

  • my dog acts the same way, except when i leave she leans against the door and gives big pouty eyes that just make you come back and pet her

  • holy crap... and i thought my one sheltie was loud enough...

  • so many puppys!! you are my hero XD

  • I just love this! Your babies are sooo adorable! they love mama so much. Aren't their hearts just pure gold? I loved the little howl that one of them did too! oh my goodness, they are just the sweetest ever!!

  • Oh bless!

  • lots of shelties! :D

  • Whaw. Thats allot of Shelites! :D

  • You're a such a great person for taking in these dogs. I have one Sheltie, my first dog ever, and I love her to death. She's unique because her lips don't ever cover her bottom teeth, but we just say she's smiling. We're afraid she might have come from a puppy mill, but we're glad to have her anyway. She's loads of fun, and I've always wanted to get her just ONE more little puppy friend. Unfortunately, she's afraid of anything that moves, so we couldn't, haha!

  • No wonder I can't find a sheltie, you have them all (lol) I do love shelties. My sweet friend Lonnie died 7 years ago. It has taken me until now to be able to be interested in another Sheltie. I have been looking for that special one.

  • Sooooo cute! I can't wait to get another Sheltie (my first died at only 7 years old- he grew more than he should have and caused his body/joints to wear down more quickly) However, maybe not that many, that's a lot of food and poop haha

  • Oh my...That is a lot of shelties. You really like them, huh? But I can't say I blame you. Shelties are so beautiful, so well behaved, so smart...I know. I have one.

  • How can people dislike this? Shelties are loyal dogs, as you can see, they stayed by the gate, waiting for her to come home. They were there waiting. Good dogs! I used to have one.

  • hahaha my shelties on my bed with me watching this and he was doin the shetlie head tilt that is sooo cute haha hes like what, whos there!! hahah gotta love shelties :)

  • I just got a sheltie puppy and he would be dwarfed by these dogs

  • Our neighbors have shelties too and we hear them outside alot. Sometimes I hear them in the morning and I think I forgot and left mine outside but it's the other shelties that I hear, lol.

  • @TennesseeShelties Have you tried feeding or greeting your neighbors shelties? Maybe they will stop barking at you if you pay attention to them. Also, its probably yours

  • My two shelties heard this playing, came running in from OUTSIDE and are now barking and going nuts trying to locate their poor sad sheltie buddies...

  • LOL...my two shelties heard me watching this from OUTSIDE, came running to the door and now they are going nuts, trying to find their pals!

  • My goodness, to be loved like that.

  • This is one of my favorite videos on youtube--and your captions are perfect!

  • In this day and age, post the name of anyone who crushes paws with a hammer on the Web. The days when one assumes this can remain hidden are long gone. Thank you for the home you have provided for these innocent loving souls! And from the looks of it, they love their mama.

  • i have 2 shelties, they are SOOOO anoyying, they bark at ANYTHING and they bark too much can someone help?

  • wtf? thats a lot of dogs

  • i dont want to be rude because you obviously have good knowledge and your lovely for rescueing them, however i have 3 shelties and my sister has a collie, and as you no the only difference between is size, and my shelties are half the size of all your dogs and my smallest nearly a third smaller, and they are the same size as my sisters collie.......

so are they really shelties lol

  • I thought I had it bad with three shelties. One is a rescue.

    .

My sister has a sweet female that was rescued... be prepared to cry... her former owner smashed her paws with a hammer because... get this... she wouldn't bark! Now she hobbles around on four badly mangled, crooked paws. She's just the sweetest girl too. After all she's been through, all she wants is to be loved and petted. I'm a grown man, but every time I see this sweet dog, I can't hold back the tears.

  • @NAGGERNUTZ . That is terrible. I hear such terrible stories in rescue and that is one of the worst yet. I can't imagine someone deliberately hurting a sheltie or any dog by smashing their paws just because she wouldn't bark. What did the vet say? Can't they repair the paws? That is just so sad. I'm glad your sister is taking good care of the poor little sheltie. All they ask is to be loved and safe.

  • @TennesseeShelties - Yes, it's heart breaking, and at the same time, I get so angry. I can't imagine what type of scum could do this to such a sweet little dog. The vet advised that such an operation would be a risk. The paws evidently healed and fused. They would have to be re-broken before they could be reconstructed. There was no guarantee that she would have any better mobility after surgery. My sister carries her outside to do her business. She can move, but she mostly low-crawls.

  • @NAGGERNUTZ I'm Sorry Abt That I Went To The Selter One Of The Small Dogs Had Heartworms :( Well I Hope Your Sheltie Is Okay .

  • @NAGGERNUTZ I hope some one did the same thing to his feet

  • @NAGGERNUTZ That's horrible!! I had a sheltie growing up. He was such a good dog. Always eager to please and he loved and protected us. I don't know how people can be so cruel. That's so sad. Poor sweet girl. I'm glad she has a good home now.

  • @klb084 - My god, I know. I'm a grown man, but every time I think of her, it makes me cry. If you could see how she low-crawls to me just to get a pat on the head. It breaks my heart. I keep asking my sister for clues to find out who did it... but she knows I'd go after him... so she won't tell me. I'd love to smash his "paws" with a hammer.

  • @NAGGERNUTZ I just can't imagine someone being so crule. I am so glad your sister has given her a great home where she is loved now. That is what shelties do, I got our little girl a year ago , we just love the bark as she is talking to us. My cocker does not bark hardly at all, so the talking is great, and all the noises.

  • @NAGGERNUTZ I can't believe anyone would do that to any dog, let alone a sheltie.. Not to sound cruel.. :< But there are just times u wish they'd shut up. I'm glad she's in a safe home now.

  • @LunaWingz - I agree. Every time I see this sweet little dog, I can't help but cry. Then the anger builds up in me. I want a piece of the filth that did it to her... but my sister won't give me any clues. She knows I'd probably end up in prison if I went after him. Yep, my 3 shelties LOVE to bark. Some times I just give in and bark along with them! LOL!

  • @NAGGERNUTZ . Your sister is so sweet to rescue her. I cant believe how anyone can hurt these beautiful dogs. Im on my 3rd rescue, all were abused and badly neglected. All have been so well-behaved and it suprised me. What made me cry was when my vet said "they are well behaved because they are so grateful to be treated well".

  • I have three...this is my house in San Diego!

  • ..uh how many dogs do u have in total?

  • Another reason why shelties are my favorite dogs! They ar there waiting for you when you get home! Always happy to greet you! My sheltie always did those. Yours, TennesseeShelties, just stayed right by the gate. I never seen anything like that before. I really like this video.

  • Hilarious, sitter-camming the pups! Surprising to see they simply waited, though - unlike CATS, who'd have moved on and entertained themselves and hardly noticed mom's return...hmmm...:)

  • Loved this video!!!! We also have 7 dogs 5 of which are shelties, one a sheltie mix and one a pit...ours are also rescue....great video! What a great service you do for them and for all animal kind

  • They are so cute, so kind of you to take in Shelties that nobody wanted. How much did it cost? I would do anything to get like 5 Shelties.

  • And I thought the general "excitement" of 2 Shelties was over the top!! Good on you for doing so much for so many sweet pups. They really are an awesome breed!!! :)

  • I Love your shelties

  • Comment removed

  • 0:31-0:32 i have a sheltie that barks like that his name is Tickles

  • This is the sweetest video! And they all look so healthy and well groomed!

They are all very beautiful !!!!

  • shelties are the best i would love to have all of those. mine is sooo cute

  • Nobody can complain that it's too quiet at your place. :-) So cute!

  • Your dogs have separation anxiety. They think they are the leader of the pack and are stressed that you have left; they wouldn't bark if you had asserted yourself as the pack leader. I really advise getting a dog trainer in. We got someone in from Bark Busters (international company) and in 2 days our barking stressed out Bichon is the most well behaved and calm dog around.

  • @xSashy Some dog owners just accept that they have a generally talkative breed. Not everyone is offended by what a dog does naturally. To me it wouldn't be a sheltie if they didn't bark.

  • Thanks for noticing. The fact is the little black one had been debarked before we got him down here and so was one of the other ones. You can hear his hoarse sounding bark. These shelties are "rescue" shelties and many have been put through alot. I tried to place them but no one wanted the old ones or the ones with medical or physical problems. Now I can't give them up, they are settled in with me and I love them.

  • @TennesseeShelties i think getting a dog debarked is cruel. it's like saying "Wow you are annoying can i cut your vocal chords?"

  • @TennesseeShelties

you are a very generous person may God bless you haha

  • Hmm, the black one sounds like it has a sore throat.

  • I think the Reason she has so many Shelties is probly because she wanted them as puppies...You must REALLY love puppies now do you?

  • @Pickuptruckdude : Actually these are rescue shelties, that's dogs that no one wanted and they would have all been euthanized in kill shelters if I had not taken them. They are good shelties, but they do have problems from being abused, neglected, or just being old and unwanted. But we welcomed them in and loved them. :) Thanks for the comments.

  • @TennesseeShelties You are a really good person for taking them in and taking care of them. I hope you continue to do this for them :) Shelties are so cute, so i wonder how people could abuse them. but yeah their very sweet & smart so im sure their not much of a bother :D

    so cute !

  • @TennesseeShelties aww Thats so nice! im proud of you :D

  • @TennesseeShelties i have a sheltie named Tickles and he howls at 2 in the morning :) it's because he needs to be let out and then i gotta help him back up the stairs frim his little field where is does his business because he has a hard time with them :(

  • OMG-- this is evidence that all of us who have shelties are living IDENTICAL PARALLEL LIVES--just in different houses scattered over the planet! Love it! Your subtitles are adorable!

  • I'd take one of them if I could... too bad I'm in Texas.

    They are all darling!

  • They're sooo cute!!

  • thats a lot of shelties lol!

  • You are loved!

  • You can try talking to a dog trainer, or if you can't move, try a rescue. Most kill shelters *do put dogs to sleep with issues because they can't place them. But rescues do try to find a home for dogs with issues. I hope things work out because it will be sad for you to lose your furbaby.

  • @TennesseeShelties

are they all yours? one of them sounds like my dogs Tickles :P if u look at my "numberjack1980s doggy" you see him :) they are so cute! :D

  • my schnauzer does the same thing and I'm facing eviction because of it but he has so many issues I would hate to give him up because I think he would be put to sleep because of his problems. :(

  • Hello, No, I am not a breeder. We were a rescue for about 5 years and these are the ones no one wanted. Sad to say, most people don't want a rescue that is older than 4 or 5 and all of these rescues are between 6 and 14. It takes a special person to adopt a rescue sheltie that no one wants. They usually come with baggage but they deserve a good home too.

  • my dog does that too.. and throws himself up against the door. he is a miniature sheltie

  • They make a lot of noise in the pack....

I only have 1 rough Collie, also barks, but not when I'm gone...

  • WOW That is alot of Shelties
