  • i cried, im part of a club in my high school that support invisible children, we help with war-torn children and child soldiers. Thanks for what you do!

  • I am crying right now . watching this compared to me feels like i'm so lucky and they have nothing !

  • When i'm old enough to work i'm going to donate $1000 to you and that's just the start, i hope i can make a difference i can't donate now because i'm to young to work and my parents are in a tight situation so sorry about right now.

  • awesome thing your doin, but you didn't teach them how to fish, you gave them the fish.

  • @briperez Ergo the question mark at the end. So many people think if you teach a family how to fish you've solved their problems. Here's a family that knows how to fish - but still can't survive. And with rising food costs, it's getting worse, not better.

  • @UnculturedProject Tu-shay, How how about a lesson in hydroponics/aquaponics? Better yet... idk give them the capability to go on the internet. Yes... easier said than done. ;)

  • @briperez I'm a big advocate of bridging the digital divide. But I think it's best if the poor save enough and see the value in connected technology to buy it themselves. You'd be surprised how many Bangladehis have cellphones. Even with video cameras. Now if internet access gets cheap enough - and they see the value in using it - they might get online themselves.

  • Hey Shawn,

Tumi onek bhalo manush. Thank you for making a difference to many people in Bangladesh.

  • I am so crushing on you ! Thanks for all you do, you are so inspirational.

  • EVERY FUCKING VIDEO I WATCH WITH THIS DUDE MAKE ME TEAR RITE AT THE END LIKE IT TAKES REAL BALLS TO MAKE ME CRY AND YOU DO IT EVERY TIME SIR

  • It is better to give than to receive. You are amazing, if only the royal families of the world would give up their money to help others, this world would be better for everyone. Instead of sitting in their thrones pretending not to know about all the poverty. Like the foolish king who thought he was wearing a robe when he was in fact naked. They think they are complete by accumulating material wealth, but their greed is naked and they cannot hide it.

  • Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Turn all men into, no more human poverty. We need to bring back sorcery. Let's hear it for the sorcery.

  • you guys very kind !!!

  • Its Really Great what your doing... Much respect. God Bless

  • Great video, as always, Shawn.

    Best wishes,

    Francis

  • You are just too awesome...Keep up the good work mate.

  • let's feed em so later on we can take over thier country and kill em. go usa.

  • @remotehog1 You are one heartless human being...

  • So moving.

  • We can all do small actions to change the world we live in. The lives of those around us. Our neighbours. One small action from everyone would bring us billions of steps closer to compassion, understanding. Greatest of all? Granting those without, a chance to live a life of great happiness.

You are one man doing what you can to change the world and encouraging others to do the same. You are inspiration to others, and people like me.

  • you are a great man who deserves a lot in life :)

  • ^_^

  • Really love everything you do Shawn. Wish there was a way to get hundreds more people watching these videos. They really highlight the power of the individual, yet somehow showing the power of a community at the same time.

  • Donating on a regular basis since 2009.

  • That's the plan :) Most likely in the later half of this year.

  • It really moved me and touched me, Thank you so much!

  • nice,great vid..

  • you have a big <3 , you made a lot of ppl happy. you are amazing

  • This is awesome.

  • why videos like this have only 4k views and shane dawson stuff 1 million?

    this tube is not me.

  • Great video. I never wonder if my money gets to the people who need it.

  • So great to see what so little can do to help others! I wonder if we could get them better fishing equipment?

    -jessie

  • This is a wonderful cause. :)

  • All of you rock!

  • omg Soo Sweet :)

  • Beautiful. =)

  • This is amazing.

  • This gave me goosebumps, in a REALLY good way though . It's lovely to see this and how dedicated you are. Pretty amazing I'd say .

  • I sponsor a little girl through children international, its only 22 usd a month but its the world to them :)

  • we do all this help, but it's very disappointing that their government is doing nothing. of the many charities helping the less fortunate, and the many kind people doing what they can, greedy people never cease to take advantage of it all every moment possible.

  • Another great video, Shawn, but more importantly: great work. :)

  • Hi! Shawn & Jess both good work!!

i'm from Thailand, How could i support you by here?

  • Hi tuedtuez - spreading the word among your friends would be huge. Especially if they subscribed and started being a part of the YouTube community :)

  • heart warming video Shawn.

  • Keep up the good work Shawn.

  • I found this video through charlieissocoollike x3

I'm glad I did since I am from Bangladesh. I went there for the first three years ago and was shocked at all the people I saw up close i saw, and more shocked that no one seemed to care.

    Thanks for caring, guys =)

  • It's wonderful how just a small donation can do something big for one person out there.

They need our help, how little the amount.

  • Whoever didn't "Like" this video is probably a douchebag...

Anyway, great video once again Shawn. :]

  • Inspiring! My family is from Bangladesh too but I haven't been there for years... looking at someone like you really shows that we all can make a difference.

I'm defs forwarding this vid to my parents haha :)

Good luck with everything you're doing in Bangladesh!

  • Amazing, Shawn. I can only hope to make as much of a difference as you are in my lifetime. You're my inspiration.

  • With your shield program it is perfectly watchable in Germany :) thanks for that. Great video.

  • Hurrah! Take that German censorship!

  • what would the world be like with out people like you. if there is a god... thank god!! Peace&Love

  • So great. I love the uncultured project, and the transparency. I like little differences.

  • How do I make a donation? Or help this organization in any other way? And don't respond to the donation with a credit card payment because I'm 16, and nobody in my family has a credit card with a substantial amount on it...

  • @ludaXkillz - PayPal (and credit cards) are the primary way. But, I wouldn't worry about it. Honestly, if you could get 20 of your friends to watch my videos and subscribe to the YouTube channel, that helps as much (if not more) than a $20 donation. It helps give my work momentum.

  • Beautiful as always. This is what social media is about for sure.

  • Wonderful. It turned out great! Is this ok to share? Saw the link in the special Facebook message...

    ~Trav

  • Thanks for your advice Trav - and of course this video is perfectly shareable. Except in Germany where's it's being blocked. Stupid Germany.

  • I feel the title of the video is a little misleading. I read the blog post you wrote about the "teach a man to fish" dilemma you are asked about so often and I thought that you were going to explain THAT in this video. I feel that that is an important issue with your project, and because I admire it and support it and you, I feel you should probably make a video about that dilemma. This video was just a small explanation about what UP accomplishes. Or am I getting this wrong?

  • @sittingonanmm You're kinda right. This video goes along with that blog post - but not explicitly. I figured that if I made a video focusing on just that, it would be too preachy. So I tried to make this video in a way people can draw their own conclusions without feeling like I'm trying to hammer a particular point.

  • I think it's good that you avoid being preachy, but I doubt that a video talking about this subject would be preachy at all. I feel it's important because the way you help people is very particular and that makes it harder to understand. I watch your videos and read your blog and feel that your project is amazing, but still I want to understand more about your views on breaking the circle of poverty. You could make it interesting without being preachy! This is still a very moving video.

  • ...i want to cry, but i know i must be strong, for Sharief

  • World needs more of u.

  • You are a beautiful person. Thank you for this.

  • Ah, I think I actually got a bit teary eyed watching this ^^; But I suppose that's a good thing :)

  • i used to live their i was lucky enough to move to the united states...we still remember what it is was like back then!!

life can only get better... -unknown

  • how do i give!?

  • Thank you for doing this.

  • amazing! Thank you!!!

  • Amazing clip :o) Shawn You rock!

  • Imagining things Complexly are we Shawn? :D

  • shawn, you are such a sweetheart.

keep up the videos and the even more amazing work.

    :)

  • Wow I just realized how lucky I am for being Bengali and born here. Sweet.

  • I met Shawn when I used to go to school in Bangladesh, he was very inspiring.

  • Amazing message. Thank you.

  • You and the message that you are putting out there amaze me everyday. It's really incredible what she was able to get for that boy with the price that she pays for one movie ticket.

    -Julia

  • Always heart warming.

    Keep up the good work.

  • How do I donate to your project? :) I wish I could do something like this for my home country, India. After graduation I vow to do my best to help. You've inspired me.

  • shawn, I love your videos because they show us the positive change others have made instead of trying to make us feel guilty with sad music

  • *wipes away tear* God, every time. Shawn, this is so powerful. I am so incredibly proud to know that there is someone doing this kind of work on YouTube. Thank you.

  • what a beast

  • How can we donate to the Uncultured Project?

  • This made me tear up a bit in the student center at my school. Amazing as always, Shawn.

  • I am imaging tankers, jam packed with corn, chickens, and goats, being sent world wide.

  • your one dedicated dude, peace out brother, what you do is amazing.

  • Wow! Amazing video!

  • Thank you Shawn for including our music for such a great cause! It is easy to get caught up in the day to day selfishness of our own lives. This is a great reminder of how everyone can help! Thank You! Much Love, Alissa

    Everyday Jones

  • Amazing video yet again! This literally brought me to tears...

You do such great work Shawn, a hero to many and savior to even more!

  • Oooh boy, here come the tears!

Thank you Shawn, this is beautiful. I can only hope my little role in this can help to inspire others...

    -Jess

  • @shakes1327 kuddos to you for donating!! when sharief said "thank you, jess" i totally started crying, can't even imagine how you must have felt.

  • I almost forgot HotspotShield! Thanks, it works! great video =)

  • outstanding

  • Wow amazing and really puts our everyday problems into perspective. I am always inspired by you but also by Jess.

I will be donating money on pay day.

  • I really hope you find a way to get back there soon. =)

  • Your videos alway move me, Shawn. Thank you for everything you've been doing.

  • Thanks Shawn and Jessica!

  • This video is amazing. I am so happy that so little can make a difference in someone's life. I think the common belief is that you have to give a lot to help a lot. In fact, Jess changed the lives of a whole family with the money we can spend on a movie ticket. Thank you for all that you do!

  • That's a beautiful video and story. As always, thank you (and everyone who donates) so much for what you do.

  • Shaun. Although I never met you, you are one of the people I respect the most. I think funding what you're doing is one of the best ways of spending some spare money.

Have you tried getting some kind of sponsor? I think a lot of companies would help if you gave away stuff of them (and thanking them in your videos). Of course that would be stuff not available over there. It's better to support the local farmers instead of shipping tons of rice from the west.

I will be donating in the future!

  • Great video, Shawn!

  • After 2 days of extremely depressing class periods in my Global Issues class, where we were attempting to discuss poverty, and people were being just about as ignorant and prejudiced as you can get, I was feeling let down about people's ability to make a difference. My words weren't doing anything to change people's mind. But I just saw this video, and my faith in humanity was at least a little bit restored. I'm going to email this/other UP videos to my teacher. Maybe he will show them in class.

  • YOu are doing great job man!!!

    -Dider

  • I respect you man. Keep trying.

  • This is such a beautiful video. What you're doing is amazing. Keep up your incredible work!

    ~Katy

  • I think YouTube needs to Spotlight these videos until everyone sees them. Then again, people on YouTube seem to be afraid of charity, except for the nerdfighters of course :D

  • God, these videos always make me want to cry... Uncultured Project really is so amazing. <3

  • I believe in this project!

  • Ive been wanting to donate for a long time, so i just did.

    Keep being an inspiration :)

  • I just got the notice before reading your comment. Thanks so much for your donation :) I'm so glad you like these videos :)

  • Well this project is so pure, and i'd rather donate to this than some other organization where 90% of my money goes to high end xmas lunches.

  • I remember this little boy. This is when I showed my Girls how so little can help so much.

  • God bless you!

  • Yeah man, love it! Your still taking donations right?

  • Yep - but you know the deal: subs & views help as much if not more :)

  • It's so amazing what you're doing. Inspirational

  • I never thought i would say this to anyone but.. I really respect you

  • So, does anyone know if it actually works to watch a video on loop? Will you get the views? or doesn't it count if its the same person?

  • as always Shawn you are fricking amazing.

  • I have faith in the greatness of this project.

  • This is so inspirational. Thank you for doing such amazing work and sharing it with all of us :)

  • You're frequent vlogging is inspiring me to try and make videos faster :)

  • yaaaay!

  • Nice job!

  • Thumbs up. I really love your work! :)

  • Wow.. inspirationaL :)

  • Great video as always! :D

  • Uncultured Project is so inspiring.

  • Oh wow... this video is on loop now... I think I'm gonna let it stay on for an hour or so... to bump the views a little...I hope it helps.

  • Shawn you still keep doing the most amazing things. I wish I could do what you do Shawn.

Like I said in my video about you the other day. You are a Internet Legend.

  • I'll be 18 in 1 month. On my birthday, I will give all the money I get to the UP. Although I don't think I'm getting much, I'll give everything.

  • Hi Sean,

I love all of your videos please keep it up!
