  • 10 seconds in and I was already blown away.

  • ...and now I know who beardo beard hats are modeled after

  • Justin Vernon

    Bon Iver

    Volcano Choir

    Gayngs

    DeYarmond Edison

and probably a couple more i havent found

    he's the man.

  • Justin Vernon. Brilliant.

  • yeah! there wasnt a video for this on youtube when i first liked this many moons ago :) happy now. my favourites from his album are this one and 'the orient and the gatsby's slew of choices' and 'nothing better than a journey' but please all of his stuff obv incl bon iver are amazing :D

  • Thankyou for the music!!!! (-:

  • thanks for the explained lines woman / man!!!

  • 2:20 begins the sheer brilliance of justin vernon

  • @kchad114 'They freed us' is another reference to the war theme im getting. The 'brother, sister, mother and father' phrases shows how everyone lost is one of these and that they also leave behind thos people too.

this is the way i see it, it could be bullshit but let me know what you think

  • does anyone know a website which explains his lyrics in some way, my english ain't good enough to understand them well enough sorry to say

  • @YpeYesYes you could just search for one his songs like this one i.e. ''justin vernon redemption, song meaning'' then copy and paste whats on the site and put it into an internet translator

  • @beshba the 'wall' is a memorial with the 'rust' being the feelings getting worse like rust does. The 'sparkle' being the proudness of the nameon the wall, and that with that name being there, nothing 'ever will be completely lost.

'mistakes we've made, broken families, no these aren't just little games' - engaging in war, families destroyed by the loss of a loved one, and families really do get hurt. CONTINUED.......

  • @beshba Hand a torch to the man, loking for his blood' translates - a man searching for the name of the person they've lost. the 'torch' could refer to it being dark and late at night therefore this person is unable to overcome the grief. The 'warmt' being 'enough' is the proudnss of seeing that name could help heel the pain and grief.

the last part seems like a breakdown of emotions, feeling trapped by the oss 'boarded and chained up' 'Not gone' means they are not forgotten.

  • @YpeYesYes ive my posted my version on the video comments, check it out, hope it helps

  • ;00000

  • shit son, this is god

  • I am stable, I am breakable

I am boarded up and begging you

    ..........

to never let this song end.

    repeat.

  • And BTW what I said was SARCASM

  • @Smashingdoun190 I'm not even sure I completely understand what you're saying.... but I'll just make some statements. 1) Bon Iver are a band, not a "he" 2) Justin Vernon is the "frontman" of Bon Iver... he's basically the only permanent member. Therefore, this is solo material from Justin Vernon, the main artistic force behind the band Bon Iver

  • @Smashingdoun190 LOL Your an idiot. Justin Vernon is the frontman of Bon Iver...the band...you fucking tard.

  • Justin Vernon is brilliant :D

  • how long has he been around making music? i can't get enough of anything he does.

  • @hobotron33 Dont be a disrespectful dick. You are clearly narrow minded and I doubt you can make music anywhere near as good as Justin Vernon.... ergh

  • Tabs for this song? I doubt you will. A lot of Vern's older stuff you'd probably have to use your ear.

  • Tabs!? :( I can't find them anywhere..
