I'm not trying to be a wiseass or anything, but I noticed your ferret had a collar on. Unsupervised fuzzies with a collar or harness on could get caught in something and end up strangling themselves. I don't know if you took it off after playing I was just saying~ :3

Please keep in mind that ferrets can get an intestinal blockage if they swallow a piece of these foamy peanuts, that could lead to very bad situations that only surgery can save. Never let your ferrets play with any packaging materials!

@69liberation No such thing as a wild ferret. Think of them as dogs (ignoring African Wild dogs etc) there are no truly wild dogs, only the wolves they were bred from. It's the same for the ferret, all ferrets are domestic, the wild animal they were bred from is the European Polecat. Only baby Polecats play like this, ferrets do it due to something called Neoteny, which is displaying baby behaviour as an adult. Dogs are the same.

Great pets and they will stand up to almost any kind of animal. I've seen them make racoons run away as well as cats and small dogs!

The biodegradable peanuts come packed in the boxes when I order things from Foster and Smith for our ferrets. One of our ferrets thinks the peanuts are food! The other 3 love playing in them, but I tend to stray away from the peanuts (even though they are biodegradable) because the one eats them so much! Lame...

@shpannie Some do. It depends on the ferret. Mine never did, but to be safe, you should "ferret proof" your home, at least when you first get the ferret, or designate an area that is safe for your ferret(s) to run around in.

@spottedpath2000 if you put the guinea pig in front of the ferret, you will very quickly have no guinea pig at all. If you are sensible and keep one caged while the other is around, and wash your hands carefully between handling either, then it's fine

@MangoTangoFOx ferrets can be litter train, i've seen videos of it and all three of my rats are litter boxed train (ok i know rats and ferrets aren't that similar but they are in intellegence so it is possible to litter train a ferret)

@MangoTangoFOx They are very easy to litter train, and they do need regular cat litter. Watch out for something called the 'hit rate', that is, how many times out of 100 the ferret will actually poop IN the litter tray. I have eight, and hit rates vary between one with nearly 100% hit rate, and four that rarely, if ever, actually poop in the tray, and prefer to do it in front of doors.

@blackkittiep I have two identical hob ferrets, and when I do doubles races with them it's hard to tell them apart, so one of them wears a collar. The easiest way is to get an elasticated kitten collar with an emergency release in case of accidents, and put it on the ferret before giving them a special treat, I use dead day-old chicks or chicken wings. They immediately forget about the collar and dig in happily.
