As for my own opinion on the downloading, stealing vs sharing. I believe it doesn't hurt the industry as much as they claim it does. They lose money via song sales but gain so much more through concerts and merchandise the artist sell. You can't download clothes or concert tickets. Music is a way to advertise the content and draw in fans, it gives them much more attention and next time they hold a live show you can expect a lot of fans to be down loaders and not CD buyers.

I'm usually turned away by the high prices of cds these days. The main reasons I download or share music is because:
A. It's easier to find music than to buy it - particularly because the kinds of music I like are not mainstream and rarely available on itunes.
B. If I want to try out music from an artist I don't know about, paying first and not liking it later would suck!

personally i download of itunes and limewire.but only off limewire if itunes doesnt have it like Zeppelin or AC/DC and it would be ridiculous to spend 9 bucks on a cd for 1 song that i want
