  • This isn't john.

  • @TheCoExister Exactly. Back in the day, they didn't have auto tune or voice correcter. On the album is their true raw talent.

  • I don't believe this is John Lennon he has a better voice even on demos

  • Def the real thing, He's just weeding the melody out without doing his voice in, not easy to sing the high part on the is song without giving it some. It's not like he was using it as a perforrmance so it's very reaxed!

  • I think I am right in saying this tape was given to Beatles' chauffeur Alf Bicknell. Please correct me if not- but it is genuine

  • This is fake. They wrote the beginning part just before they recorded it in the studio. Not at his house in "Liddpool."

  • thts him trust me

  • yeah this is fake-a-roony. A good impression though. Lennon with a cold! ;)

  • @flowerdoodle, jerney4974, MarkAllison57 and rjmprod:

THIS IS NOT FAKE! This recording was taken from the BBC program "The Lost Lennon Tapes" which was shown some time back. If you go to my channel you can hear a better copy-louder and more clear than what is here-of this same recording which Lennon did PRIOR to 1964 according to what Lennon told American journalist Al Aronowitz.

  • (cont.)

For those who are calling this fake and-in the case of "rjmprod" even insulting the person who posted this-you can all take your complaints to Paul McCartney, who has listened to this and pronounced it GENUINE. This is John Lennon, the one and only.

  • @Babyhowdy233 Ok, I believe you. Upon another listen it actually does sound like him--hes being playful with his voice is why its misleading people I suppose. He's singing falsetto, which we arent accustomed to hearing from Lennon. Thanks for the info

  • Fake as hell.....your an ass dude!

  • Thats SO not Lennon and by the way- in 64 he didnt even live in Liverpool anymore!

  • rubbish this is not john lennon

  • I grew up to this music, John was god to me for my whole youth...I sent this song to my 12 year old girlfriend, and it pulled her because John could say what I felt but could never say...he sadly used to put some of these songs down post B's, but truth is when you hear them acoustically they are so daring and brilliant. And no one had a voice like John's. It made you believe everything was important and true...I shall always miss him...thank you for this, so much

  • Fascinating.

  • I've been there too, even in the house!

  • Are you sure this is John? From when? Where did you get this?

  • this recording is dodgy, but the pictures are great :P

  • 0:37

    oh no YOKO !!!!

  • at 1;02 he looks just like my boyfreind andre with the eyes

  • The world that John envisaged had no money. Money is our problem, we need to evolve beyond and that simply means making a decision not to use it anymore. It's not that difficult. If we could do that John's vision becomes a reality. Money is control, free yourselves. Support the Venus Project.

  • 1:58 is probably the most amazing photo ever! It captures just like pure happiness ahaha

  • Whoa. What a great selection of pix you've chosen for this clip. My heart started beating a little faster <333

  • where did you find all of these amazing photos of John????

  • @chocoluva1012 ~ Lennonmeansrocknroll ~ Probably Photobucket :)

  • so not john! c'mon the man shared enuff of his real self. this is nonsense.

  • @dexredland IT IS HIM IT'S SO OBVIOUS OMG!!!!!!!

  • @dexredland

This is indeed John Lennon. It's been positively confirmed by none other than Paul McCartney.

  • Liddpool... you prat it's Liverpool.

  • @masterbainbridge (I'm the same person who made this video) Read In His Own Write and you'll understand...I'm not stupid, I've been there a million times...you prat.

It's supposed to say Liddypool anyway.

  • @masterbainbridge John always called it Liddypool.

  • OK- we'd all like to think it's John Listen to the recording- this would have been in the early 60's (64/65 ish) Because this song was written specifically for the film Hard Day's Night. The recording has a clear guitar yet the vocal has been distorted. This can only be done on a 2-track recording. This would have been made on a single microphone recording so this stinks!

The charecteristic 'You-hoo' phraes at the end of certainb lines did not appear until the early 70's with John. FAKE!

  • OKAYYYY this is my video - I've got a different channel - and this is not as 'Mendips' but it deffinitely IS JOHNNY!!!!!<3

  • Likewise, I'm a lifelong Beatle fan (almost 60) and this is one of the most amazing of all the past finds I've heard. It is wonderful on so many levels. The ahh-haaa-ha-ha. What he was thinking about what the melody would be. Thanks for sharing.

Do you know when it was made? Is it a demo made before the record?

  • where did you get these great pics?

  • Fake!!

  • @69SgtPepper This is NOT fake! good grief

  • @69SgtPepper NOT fake. He sounds different because he's not belting out his singing. He's singing quietly. I KNOW this is my John.

  • Fake

  • This is how most of the masterpieces must have started. I wish I back there for early Beatlemania. Must have been so exciting.

  • little fun man

  • @Lennonmeansrocknroll....I'm 56, John was God to me, every few weeks a new single, always THAT voice, grew my hair at same rate, Dad took us to Shea 65, he wrote soundtrack of my life, and yes if you know his voice, that's Lennon 4sure. Don't care how you found this, thank you..ps, for those who don't get his thing for Yoko, aside from 16 years of 3 buddies, she was brilliant, independent, and damn just gorgeous, exotic, what a body, and as creative as any artist..well, except John, top of list

  • yeah the sound of the voice is much different and he sings it higher in this record. I guess john didn't come that high :-?

  • this does not sound like him. He never sang like this...I say its NOT HIM

  • I'm glad he got Paul to sing the high melody and he sang the lower harmony. This is my favorite Beatles song.

  • omg he sounds like hes crying xx :( love you john xx

  • why must people always bitch and fight, its youtube, chill folks, theres more to life than arguing, if its john awesome, he sounded funny, but its awesome, if not then oh well...kay folks? the song is still beautiful... thanks for posting hun :)

  • If that's John singing I'll eat my hat.

  • @TheSpecialK56 It is genuine. The tape has been around for a long time. John Lennon composing If I Fell, January 1964.

  • @TheSpecialK56 Obviously you don't know his voice, because it is definately him!

  • @TheSpecialK56 You better go eat it then...there's no question it's him to real fans who actually understand and realize that he's singing quietly and that is why he sounds a little different. Jeez blatently him though

  • He sounds like he's crying LOVE U JOHNNY BOY

  • My husband looks so much like JOHN....He is even a Libra...Damn! I'm LUCKY!!

  • No one cares how old anybody is. No body cares if you know all the songs. The point of the band was to sing songs for people and make them happy or have alot of different emotions about them. They didn't want you to learn every detail about them, they quit touring because of people like you guys, the over crazed, obsessive, and competetive fans! (past tense btw)

  • This is great! Lennon really had this nailed even in it's demo stage. And of course the ah ha's preceding those on Imagine by about 7 years. Love it...!!!

  • @ :55 john looks like willy wonka

  • i'm only 12 and i love the the beatles

  • @liverpoolforeve fuck you! nobody cares how old are you..

  • @johnnybgoode2605 jeez no need for that chill

  • @liverpoolforeve ok? i was able to sing all of sgt. peppers when i was 5 but i don't go telling everybody! a huge majority of beatle fans are really young!

  • @dingoguy100 ye ok i'm sorry but i see lots of ppl on youtube telling people on video's and i thought i might aswell.

  • @liverpoolforeve Good for you man. I'm glad you said your age. It means this music is timeless and will go on appealing to young and old far into the future.

  • hehe so if your brother looks like that, can I have his phone number please? (jk)

  • haha, I'm also a 13 year old Beatles/ John Lennon crazy person! lol

  • I Love John but he sounds like Tiny Tim In this one had to be late 70s..

  • Aww..nice photos..and I swear, if your brother looks like John does in that picture..(drool, drool)..lol. You're 13, eh? I'm at least 3x your age and I have to commend you for GOOD TASTE. The Beatles are my favorite band in the world and John is my absolute favorite Beatle, and it's wonderful to see the younger generation appreciating their music, their charm, their looks, their wit and their significant contribution to rock and roll..& you've been to Johnny's house, too? You lucky dawg! ;-)

  • Lennon wrote this song, Paul just helpt him to finish it!

  • Where did you find that picture where he looks like your brother

  • Where did u get these photos?

  • 0:45 John is on skiis! LOL <3

  • Doesn't this sound like he's having thoughts about leaving Cynthia?

  • Haha. It's Liverpool you weapon.

  • So what do I believe -revolution in the head - which is full of wrong information - or Paul McCartney?

  • HOW DID YOU GO THERE!!??!?!?!

  • @anotherbeatlefreak I'm the person who posted this video (different channel lol) The national trust mini bus in Liverpool :) They take you inside :D

  • thank you ,for the music and the fotos, very nice, originales and very wonderfull.

  • pfff this is not john lennon, fuck you xD

  • @beatleguitar You're a lovely person..not. It is him HE'S JUST SINGING QUIETLY!

Jeez some people just haven't got a clue

  • This is NOT john Lennon singing. Get Real people. He was'nt the best vocalist in the world but he was certainly better than this guy. 'If I Fell' was a McCartney melody anyway. and a Lennon/McCArtney lyric.

  • sorry mate yer wrong it is lennon singing and it certainly is his melody.you should buy revolution in the head before you make anymore conmments of this nature

  • @Kimians This is Lennon.

  • @Kimians HAHHAHAHAHAH, If I fell was written by John Lennon, you retarded. Study the facts again before posting bullshit.

  • @Kimians How can be you that dumb? McCartney has nothing to do with this song, stupid asshole.

  • lennon/mccartney songs were usually written by one or the other, this is johns....i agree it sounds sketchy...but he was most definitely one of the best vocalists in the world.

  • @Kimians

    Hi,

Where do you get that this is a Paul melody? From John's Playboy interviews he said it's his song. In Paul's biography Many Years From Now, Paul maintains it was a co-write with emphasis on John. He further comments that John could write good ballad melodies citing this as an example.

    Regards

    Sweedlepipe

  • @Kimians Actually this is John, the song is taken from "The Complete Lost Lennon Tapes"

  • @Kimians You're blatently nota real fan. HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST! AND HE'S NOT TRYING HERE. IT IS HIM. OBVIOUS TO REAL FANS.

  • Comment removed

  • John jokes by singing it "ala Paul McCartney" vocal/ higher part (but obviously not in Paul's actual style!). Tender in parts actually, but "tongue in cheek", definitely...overall. Thanks, Peace.

  • Thi is not the the beitels because they rich and nt record so bad

  • Had to be later than Hard Days Night Era. Sounds to me like one of Johns cassette demo recordings of the 70's. Aint there no Beatle experts out there who know when this dates from?

    Thank you, friend, for posting!

    Real cool!

    Peace and Love

  • OK, so this was a re-play through his old songs. It's not in Liverpool. If it's Plastic Ono period (1970 onwards) then it's most likely Tittenhurst or the Dakota. But he never, ever moved back to Liverpool

  • He had such an amazing sweet voice, when he sang like that.

  • Yes it is! :-)

  • It sounds like when he`s singing Imagine, when he sings: woo-oo,(you-hoo and I-III on Imagine).

  • sounds like the song's at a very primitive stage with it's influences still audible and certain bits still un-nailed, his voice sounds like it's shot from over-use, either post-gig or shouty night, well interesting listening tho, thanks for posting

  • I really love John, by all my heart, but... he's totally out of tune here and sounds weird...

  • thank god they didn't release this on AHDN version. xD

  • it's the sama ahhhaahaaa he used a few years later in imagine, isn't it ?

    sooo lovely :-)

  • Yeah, bet he was going through his recordings at the Imagine time!

  • Hey =)

    Bad quality, but you're right,

John was such a cutie !!

But, I have to admit, that Georgie-Boy is my favourite Beatle.

    And I'm 15 years old =)
