For all the amateurs out there, this is something called mode7, which is used in such console RPGs like FF5 and FF6 well, this one is a little more advanced, since you can make objects stand out as well. A nice script, hope to actually use one of these one day.

i think this is a simple ground script, there are no 3d objects, and it will probably lag, like most 3d games in ruby, try learning cpp

this script was cool. but it was also laggy as fucking shit! sure you can put rocks up to look like mountains and shit but all n all if you try to make your world look really 3-d with this script it lags out the ass. Good script. Laggy as a guy with MS tryin to fuck his wife. (no offense to MS patients)

But I think VX is easier and better than XP. You know, in VX you can put faces and more things, but xp have same good options that at least I havent see in VX

It truthfully doesn't look that great, Mode7 just makes the 2D graphics on a bit of an angle, i actually prefer the 2D compared to that, also is that a game ur making or just some random map.

@100danjel It should work with pokemon, and if it dosn't you have to work/build it up from the demo you downloaded, so you have to move the materials and maps over. Only tried to put in, not build up from it, so i can't garant it work, just how i think it work :p

@Jenema2 If you want to make things pop-up like the trees did, try setting the priority of the tiles to 1 or above. I'm not sure this'll work, but it's worth a shot.

Whenever I step on event that's supposed to transport me to another map, I get the error: rpg maker xp Script 'Game_Character 2' line 23: NoMethodError occurred. undefined method `*' for nil:NilClass

Go to tilesets, find the tile you want to change, it will have a "o" on it, meaning it can be walked on, set that to an "x".

I think you may be using a floor tile that looks similar to a wall, which is why you can walk on it.
