My husband has Asperger's and PDD-NOS. I think, "There, but for the Grace of God, goes he." He is TERRIFIED of police and frequently speaks of how he would fight like hell if anyone were ever to prevent him from doing something he were trying to do.

I am outraged. How can you sit there and state all of this. Yes you are his mother, but you were not there to wittness this. You say that he did nothing wrong? Yes you are his mother and in a parents eyes they never do when it is something of this nature. But you only believe the 1 side of the story. What abought the deputy that puts his life on the line every day for you, your family, and the people of the county. Now look at him? But your son did not do anything wrong? Umm OK.
@kalbright485 Have you ever lived with someone who is ASD? Do you have a family member that has ASD? Have you ever attempted to control an person with ASD in a stressful situation? They don't see the world the way you or I do. Living with and raising a child for 18 years gives you insight into mind of an Autistic but you never fully understand them. I completely understand how the situation occurred. It's unfortunate that the misunderstanding had to happen.

This is her child and she knows him best. If he doesn't have a history of violence and was raised the right way, she has no reason to disbelieve him.
