I love the characters all culminating in this scene. Ronnie and Kates character are both in the park because of seperate reasons, and they come together in this scene, their storylines collide for a minute or so.

For those who keep asking what happened; he is a child molester. His mother's wish (before she died) in a note was for him to be 'a good boy' so he castrated himself (cut off his own testicles) and he prolly didn't pass out until later because he hadn't been making such sudden movements that could cause this. I would have to disagree with just one thing- Jackie Earle Haley is goddamn beautiful.

He has a lot of raw emotion that Depp doesn't risk, and he pulls it off stunningly. I'm eager to see him playing in Human Target, a bit of a lighter character than he usually plays. His 'tragic' is amazing, and I bet he's just as good at 'funny'.

Such a sad moment. Yes, Ronnie has done some bad things in his life... but he suffers from a mental disorder that he cannot control and I can't help but empathize with him. He longs for a normal life but knows he can't have one because of his urges. It has made me think of many sex offenders differently now... instead of instantaneously demonizing them, I can now understand that some of them are truly sick and in need of serious medical help. It's sad to see someone struggle with this condition.
