so annoying that they won`t let you put up the video, i mean, the video, to my knowledge is available for purchase, so surely any showings would only encourage sales of the song on itunes etc...
He's fictional. Hugh Grant's character was allegedly inspired by the story of Andrew Ridgeley of the 80's British pop group Wham!, where one half of the duo, George Michael, went on to enjoy a successful solo career leaving the other bandmate behind in his solo ventures. The video for Pop! Goes My Heart borrows visual elements from Wham's Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go music video. The song Meaningless Kiss performed by Hugh Grant is similar to Wham's megahit Careless Whisper.
Poor Andrew, seemed a bit nervous and inconfident here, don't think he believed in himself and hence why he indeed had a lack of success as a solo artist
@jhaslam17 I think the fact that the media pretty much reacted to his music with bewilderment, if not outright ridicule, considering that Andrew let George do more of the lion's share in Wham! to the point where people would jokingly refer to him as "the other guy", certainly did not help. Andrew's solo album was pretty ballsy as it went for such a strongly rock, almost pop metal at times direction. His lyrical ability wasn't nearly as sharp as George's, but it's certainly not that bad an effort
Andrew was my favorite ... I always thought both GM and AR sang in the wham songs ..... I used to sing with two voice...must have had ear problem when I was in school...no wonder I could not hear my teacher in class
Ha! Remember watching this. Think the single got to about 55 or somethiing. "I'm gonna shake you... Leave you naked on my bed..." Last time I said that to a girl, she took an injunction out on me and I ended up on the Sex Offenders' Register.
Thank you for the great interview! He seriously liked old cars, socializing and Monaco as a part of his profession. But I like how he goes bit shy when he gets asked "You wanted to sow your wild oates, didn't you?" :)
I loved this man when I was 14 and now 20 years later.....if he showed up at my door, I would leave my husband in a heart beat.. I LOVE YOU AJR - RANDY ANDY 4 ever
thus I have keen perception from the start w/o all the other info you're offering to support my keen perceptions. . Do you look nice in your dommi gear?
@lisajijon i couldn't care a less about other u do though. I would have thought your slaves would have worshiped you out of it unless they prefer you to keep your clothes on.
un pesimo cantante. se nota que George fue el unico cerebro de wham. Andrew solo sirvio para que george pudiera firmar el primer contrato con inervision.
Hi, just watch my vid 'My love for Georgios' and you will see Andrew and me at the end of the video. This pic was taken in The Netherlands. He was there to promote his single 'Shake'.... I had to go to school that day, but I didn't! I was naughty then. Meeting Andrew was more important!
Ooh, I see I already said where I met Andrew in my earlier comment.... My God, I am really losing my head now, watching too much of George these days I guess...

The cowboy leather-man look, possibly the song and the bearing of a man - his PR team could not have got it more hilariously wrong.

I think he was deliberately aiming for American success with the look, just like George did with the Faith album.

I remeber this being on tv, where's the performance of the track Shake????
That is a great song..

I decided not to post the track this time. The last time I did, I got the standard "warning" from Sony BMG.
SoEightiesItHurts 3 years ago
That is such a shame, haven;t they got anything better to do than go thru all the clips on Youtube.
I would love to see that performance, he really gave it his all.
Hopefully somebody will post it at some time soon.
