if you got rtl8187 (like alfa cards 500w/1000w) and you are running an mac os lower then 10.6 you need to download KISMAC 2.99 . Further more : DO NOT INSTALL THE DRIVERS ! kismac does not need them ! uninstal de drivers . use kismac driver for RTL8187 . cheers !

Can anyone give me a short summary how to install VirtualBox/BackTrack 4 in a windows xp computer. My WiFi Adapter RealTek RTL 8187 doesn't make contact.

Command: lsusb results in: Bus 001 Device 002: ID 80ee:0021 VirtualBox USB Tablet+Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

No RTL 8187, which is usb-connected to my computer. (And connected to my internet modem. This works).

problem i seem to be having is that KisMAC is saying I'm injecting, but its not--it can just sit at 1 or 2 unique IVs for minutes--then it will go up 100 or so and then stop again. I can't figure out the problem. i have the same alfa card you have...

I have all realtek drivers uninstalled and I still get

Remove the drivers (the installer comes with an uninstall script)

@AAnderson9048 Are you sure the device you're using has a RT73 chipset? If you're using the Alfa in this video, you have a RTL-8187L chipset.

To All with the issue "Could not instantiate driver" DO NOT install drivers provided with the injection device. i.e. Edimax, Hawking or Alfa. read the FAQ on Kismac-ng, repeat, and read the guide: you are going to save a lot of time.

Same shit happened to me, so on the forums, ppl have said to remove everything that is related to "The BLUE CRAB" that means everything by Realtek, all ultilities and drivers. There's a uninstall script to do that if you do a spotlight search. After removal of the stuff, it should start working like it should.

@MaxintoshProductions Are you using the same Alfa as the guy in this video?  If so, you need to select "8187l device" not RT73. This Alfa uses a RTL-8187l chipset.

I have the same problem! got the RTL 8187 but can't get it running on OSx leopard. and it seems to be that realtek doesn't support it yet.
