Hi Bubbe ! I'm Not Jewish I'm Mexican American , But Evening I Ran Across Your Show On JL TV , I LOVE Jewish Food I Can't Get Enough Of It ... I First Discovered Jewish Food On My Daily Inspections In Hollywood California When I Used To Inspect A Jewish Bakery , Once I Tried The Homemade Jewish Food They"d Prepare My Goodness I Became Addicted , Still Am And I Love The People Your Culture Is So Interesting To Me .. Love It . Now I Find You ... What A Blessing To Me Thank You ! Feed Me Bubbee!
Your food looks so delicious, bubbe! You help bring back memories of my best friend's(who's Jewish) grandma when I'd go to her house for Hanukkah. I was always accepted into their home like family even though I wasn't Jewish, but you cook from the heart like her bubbe. Here's to more warm cooking!
My family is Catholic, but my daughter is dating a young and wonderful gentleman of Jewish decent. Isaiah has introduced us to your Bubbe's show on the JLTV channel. We have fallen in love with her! Thank you so much for sharing! God bless!
I made the potato Latkes this morning for breakfast, I forgot to put the egg in, but they turned out yummy anyway, I used onion powder instead of a fresh onion because I had leftover mashed potatoes from the ohter night, so I turned them into Latkes...you were right they taste delicious no matter what.
I enjoyed this video... There were some very helpful tips. I make Latkes each year for all 3 of my daughter's classrooms. The freezin in a single layer and reheating tip is somthing I will try next year at Hanukkah.
Shalom! I also just read the article in Guideposts, and had to find your videos on youtube. We had latkes every night during Chanukah. My kids were disappointed to find that I wasn't making them tonight, because Chanukah was over. I do it a little different...I grate the potatoes and onions (food processors are wonderful!), drain the starch, and after adding the other ingredients I shape into patties. Nothing is better than homemade Jewish food!
Have you tried my sweet and sour meatballs? Episode #3 - you can add extra spices such as a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat or try whatever spices you prefer in very small amounts to suit your taste, such as pepper, nutmeg, allspice, rosemary, etc. Let me know what your favorite combination is.
like anything else you have to be careful. keep your face back from the frying pan and just don't dump the spoonful of potato mixture too fast, just drop them carefully. In this way there will not be a big splash, causing the oil to splatter. -Bubbe
I love watching your videos. I had heard about you on a t.v. show and was so happy to find you have so many recipes available for everyone to share. Thank you!! Mine turned out just like yours. Great!! kdm2255
Wow! Would love to hear what tv show that this was on. Did they mention that you can go to our website (type into google feedmebubbe)and see so many other video episodes including now brisket! -Bubbe
Well then you have to check out the full collection. We have a website too with a new look to check out at "feedmebubbe" Hope to continue having you, new episodes appearing shortly. - Bubbe
I love watching your series! You do a great job of explaining your recipes. I have just recently started cooking traditional recipies for my family and your episodes are definately inspiring! THANKS!
I love this recipe. The first time I had them was in 1967 or so at my friend Jenia's house. They were so delicious and the house smelled so great from them!
Keep on filming, Bubbe! You are the best! Jeannemarie
Good job Bubbe, this is the same recipe I use except I grate my potatos and onions by hand (for a small serving) or in the food processor for larger servings. I got my recipe directly from an Oma in Germany.
I like adding onion to the recipe, my bubba [another name for grandmother] I never had her here to enjoy, she died when I was three. My mother was like your Bubbe, may she rest in peace, but she would never let me in kitchen when she worked. Hence, I rebelled and went to McDonald's. You are very lucky. G-d bless you all. Nice video.
Yer Bubbe is like my Babcia , and she makes the same food. Mine passed away a while ago, so seeing her and that food made me feel like she was in the kitchen again feeding me. You made me hungry and nearly made me cry.
I appreciate your expressing your feelings. We have received many many messages similar to yours. I did not know my grandparents and I felt a void. And I hoped that I would be able to be a close warm Bubbe to my grandchildren. - Bubbe
Thanks much. She's with me everyday I know . And with your reminder of the food I grew up with , I'll be making my partner happy with rice kugle, Maybe an ep on that? My Babcia wasn't big on passing on recipes , sh e just said things like watch and learn. Which of course I did.
Thank you again Bubbe. I'm not actually Jewish and neither do I need the holiday to make laktes; yum! I'll let you know how I fare. Again, I've been wanting to make these forever, and you have really prompted me in the best way possible. And thanks for the video again; you're so natural and adorable, I can't get over it. But so smart and thorough as well!
Oh Bubbe I love you, you're the BEST! So kind, reassuring and encouraging, too. Been wanting to make delectable latkes for the longest time and now with your guidance and advice I'm doing so very soon. I would never leave out the yummy, complimentary apple sauce and sour cream either! Very long may you live. You're living proof we should ALL be Jewish w/an irreplaceable Bubbe!! xoxo
I was looking for a recipe using the blender. Thank you for refreshing my memory of this way of making this delicious dish!

Dear Bubbe,
How do you avoid oil splatter burns when you first put the latkes in the oil and when you flip them?
