All my speakers are the same brand, SONY, the rears are from 2008, the center is from 2003 (earlier version of the same series) and the floorstanding fronts are from 1978. Cant tell much difference between speakers on movies but the oldest speakers blow me away on music.
Nice! These guys actually know what their talking about. I would also add that one could further optimize receiver/speaker performance by using the microphone device that comes with your receiver. It will calibrate all kinds of features and it will adjust the speakers output for the room. Then you can go in and further adjust the volume of individual speakers to your liking. I only wish I didn't wait years to do this with my Pioneer Elite receiver. I've been such a fool.
