  • @volks0388 If you go to the admissions section on the website you should find everything you need

  • What is the age requirement for admission? I am very interested.

  • @meg5730 No

  • Do I need to take french all through highschool to go here?

  • Do you have to go to this school to become an officer?

  • My application is going in on Wednesday :)

  • i know you receive free education if you join the army, but can you only go to the Royal military college? like can you go to..university of toronto if you wanted to?

  • @TheAnswerIverson3 Yes. They may send you to:

    RMC - Kingston

    RMC - St. Jean

    A Civilian University.

  • @AzNinHD are those two universities the only 2 options ? thanks for taking your time :)

  • @TheAnswerIverson3 Pretty much. To clarify, candidates are typically applying for ROTP or DEO... NOT THE SCHOOL. In order to attend the school, you must have an entry plan INTO the school. It is not like any other University where you apply and just get in. Within the ROTP, the CF can choose whether to send you to study at Kingston, St. Jean, or an accredited civilian university. Wherever one may go, there are still in the SAME program (ROTP). However, don't confuse the ROTP with your major.

  • @AzNinHD thanks for answering my questions, and that sucks lol i was planning to apply to university of waterloo for science but since i can only go to royal military college im not joining the army anymore ahah id rather go to a normal university :p

  • @TheAnswerIverson3 Okay, there seems to be some confusion for you. The plan we are talking about to become an Officer is called REGULAR OFFICER TRAINING PLAN (ROTP). It is a subsidized education PLAN. NOT a major or whatever field of study. IF you are accepted to this PLAN, they can send you to study at either RMC OR a Civilian University. You can still study science at Waterloo IF you are accepted into the PLAN.

  • @AzNinHD ohh ok thanks man i got it now, and can anyone get into this plan or is it hard to get in? last quesion i promise:p thanks again!

  • @TheAnswerIverson3 There are many factors that play into your acceptance. Extracurricular activities, sports, and very good grades are some of the many. Not to mention that you must score high enough on your Aptitude Test to qualify for Officer. After that you've got a 2-3 hour long interview. After that it's about a 4-5 month wait time to know if you are accepted or not.

Oh and by the way.... they only take 500 people into the plan per year.

  • @AzNinHD LMAO HOLY S**** LOL ONLY 500!!? thats like winning a lottery lol.. :/ wow that just brought all my hopes down, i play basketball for my grade 12 team in highschool, and rep team, i have good grades, but 500 people? woow. are you in it bro ? :p

  • @TheAnswerIverson3 Nope. I have applied for this year and I am currently merit listed. Basically that means that I have done all my processing (Aptitude test, medical, interview, submission of grades) and I am now just waiting for the call.

  • @AzNinHD goodluck bro i hope you make it ! :)

  • @AzNinHD what do they do in the medical?

  • @southsidedude101 Three stages.

First stage: blood pressure, vision tests, hearing tests, height, etc

Second stage: interview with a med tech or med officer. Questionnaire, discuss health history, more in-depth medical examination

Third stage: They will send off your medical file to be approved by Medical Officer from NDHQ in Ottawa.

  • why couldn't i have gone to this school !

  • i go to Queen's and just watched this for curiosity sake, but all respects

  • any tips for someone just entering grade 10 to help them prepare and gain acceptance to the RMC?

  • @Broski49 cadets, volunteer like you have nothing better to do and don't fail your classes

  • I like how when they show the promotion it looks like you went up a lot of levels but it really is only two...

  • @allan25274 2 is better then nothing

  • ...lol that room inspection guy is kinda quiet..lol sounds all sheepish wen he says "dii---smissed" "aa-ten-tioon'

  • I want to enroll in the Canadian Forces as a Reservist and Infantry. What happens if i go in the RMC? how will that work?

  • Comment removed

  • already graduated from here. I'm actually in this video.

  • @krishm16 Another thing you can do is as soon as you are in grade 11 you should talk to your schools guidance counsellor about what you wish to take at RMCC, the courses you have taken so far and most importantly the prerequisites you will need for said college courses.

  • @krishm16 I am not currently enrolled at RMCC. Actually i am only almost in the 9th grade. Anyway i am hoping to take civil or mechanical engineering but if not i will take astrophysics. As far as i know mathematics are important like everything but it also depends on the courses you take. The goal of RMCC is to create strong, well rounded officers regardless of degree. Once again all my knowledge comes from the website, Macleans university guide and past comments.

  • go ROTP CIVI U.... RMC is gay

  • @kibblesnbitsparttwo

    lol.... what yr r u

  • @krishm16 One more thing. To start the application process you must first go to your local recruiter.

  • @krishm16 all that info comes mainly from past comments. Scroll to the bottom and read as many as you can. It helps. Also i bought Macleans Guide to Canadian Universitys. It has almost all major universities and colleges from coast to coast. But the best info for you will definately be the websie or emailing somebody who is currently enrolled at RMCC

  • can you apply to go to the RMCC as an international student then later go for permenant resident status and then apply for citizenship? Because i'm hoping to be able to join the Canadian forces

  • @lairyboy101 Which country are you from?

  • @25Milimeter The UK

  • CAD PAT is a beautiful camo

  • If anyone's interested in helping, you should reply or comment. I'm considered an international student but i've been in Canada since i was 12, i'm now 19.

I wanted to join the RMC or any Canadian Military but it seems that i require a citizenship and i can only obtain that if i get employed

I'm bilingual but not a french speaker, very fluent in english and korean.

  • @clee0351 Im a 2nd year at RMC. you need to have canadian citizenship to be in the canadian forces. All cadets at RMC are members of the CF so you obviously need canadian citizenship. Not being capable in french is not a problem as long as you are effective in english. They will teach you french in your 4 years there. You can join at any age (younger is better). Make sure you are physically fit and active in your community because that is just as important as your high school grades. Good luck!

  • @jtsang22 Hi... I am interested to applying..what kind of grades did u bring in and what would to reccomend for someone with an overall average of about 73 in Grade 10. And what kind of community participation would u reccomend...Thank You!

  • @krishm16 I was asking that same thing. I was told to have an overall average of over 80%, do lots of sports in high school (as many as possible), also volunteer somewhere like an old folks home or firestation. If your family has a military background it will help. One of the most important things is to be physically fit. I would suggest going to their website, you can find it through google and it has a ton of infomation. I hope this has helped you out.

  • @canad1anbadass Ok thanx man..i appreciate it..its by far the best info i have gotten from anyone when comes to RMC admission and i have been researching since grade 8..Thank you man!

  • @canad1anbadass Also if u dont mind which program are u taking at RMC? Because i wish to do the military phsycology and leadership and was wondering how important mathematics is because math is not exactly my strong point... Thanks Again

  • @krishm16 hi I'm in military psychology & leadership

1st years have to take mandatory science classes.

as an artsman, you take math, psych, history, politics, english, economy. and french, P.E. is mandatory. (unless for french, you are bilingual, you'll have french language test). HOWEVER, before you graduate, you need 1 physics and 1 chemistry credit (mine will be music & physics {deals with freq's and waves}, and CBRN chemistry)

btw, get yourself ready for FYOP and DON'T FUCK OVER your buddy.

  • @krishm16 Academics are important for RMC but leadership potential is just as important. Get out volunteering and playing team sports and make sure you have good references from teachers, coaches, employers. I'm just finishing grade 11 now and will be applying for RMC next year for 2012-2013 first year at RMC good luck. And I've spoken to a recruiter and he told me that because of the budget cuts to the military they only take about 300 first years now.

  • @derpaherp123 ooook...thanx man! Seriously appreciate it!

  • @krishm16 Personally, I had atleast 90% average, but with avg of 73% you should be fine. 70% is lowest bet.

and 80% is the safe bet that liaison officers tell you. However keep this in mind, because of lack of budget, we're taking less and less students, so keep to your studies so you'll have an edge over others.

  • @HOLYDSFA Alright thank you man! Seriously appreciate it man

  • Id like to know how i can increase my chances of being accepted. Such as sports and other stuff.

  • this video is sooooooo misleading. lol good luck kiddies

  • Thanks alot man, and maybe I'll see you up there. What grade are you in?

  • what does everyone think about that douchebag gregoire laforce, seems like a bit of a doucher if you ask me

  • i really want to join RMC, last of of high school for me

  • this looks awesome lol

  • Thumbs up if your prof makes u watch this ;)

  • I dunno why military officers are so smart but then they let stupid people send them off to war.

  • @yuri35435

I don't know where you get your information from, but in order to go to war you need to fill out a ridiculous amount of paper work and pass medical exams. By doing this, the Canadian Government is trying to dissuade you from going to war because of how expensive it is.

  • @DivineMomentofTruth Sorry I mean when a radicalized sect of influencial people manipulate governance in order to start wars with countries where there is little reason to do so.

  • I want to join when I grow up in a few years, but is the education any good? And do I have to speak French? I'm taking Spanish in high school right now...

  • @Ronimations Did you know a degre from this school is just as high of an education as Yale or Harvard.

If you dont speak french they will teach you.

  • @TheIronicBanana I've been told that you have to be in Cadets in order to apply, is that true?

  • @Ronimations Nooo. They must have miss understood it.

Once you start your first year you BECOME a OFFICER CADET, which completly different. And officer cadet is someone who is training to become an officer. By the time you are in your 4th year you WILL be an officer.

Now the cool part is that as soon as you graduate, you are promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, which has a starting pay of around 50K.

And: Free housing, free eating, free metical/dental,...

Any more Questions send me a PM

  • @TheIronicBanana its actually 2lt, but it depends on your trade.

  • @TheIronicBanana Something I was reading a couple of days ago said that you needed to have MOSID basic training, or something along those lines? Do you have to complete basic training before heading out to RMC?

  • @blcbandit101 I belive basic is done the summer before the school year.

  • @TheIronicBanana so do you complete it at RMC or do you have to already be in the reserves or regular force to complete it.

  • @blcbandit101 You do it with RMC.

  • @TheIronicBanana nope, its a 2 week recruit camp when you get thewre, and were off to basic between 1st/2nd year

  • @wescorkum there* typo

  • @Ronimations No it only helps. But grades are #1 prioraty to getting in, they get about 150,00 applications a year across Canada, only about 1500- 200 are acepted, but only 600 go to RMC and the rest get free tuions at any Canadian Univesity or Collage.

  • @mikefilmstudios They look at grades to see if you qualify. If you qualify they start looking at other things. Extra-Curriculars, Volunteering, Sports etc. Grades are important, but they are looking for well rounded people. If you say have a 98% average, but that's all you can show for. They would rather take a student with an 80% average who has a wide variety of skills and commitments. 800 people apply a year, only 150-200 get accepted to RMC or CMR(RMC in St.Jean Quebec)

  • @gunzNsailz What can I do to better my chances of getting in, I got 92% average, play high school football, hockey, basketball, soccer and I volunteer at the fire station in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Anything you can tell me will be appreciated, thanks.

  • @blcbandit101 Thats sounds great so far. There's a section on the application that asks about musical skills. Try learning an instrument before you apply. Otherwise you have the physical fitness and school marks down. Volunteering is also a great asset to have. (I'm not an RMC student, I'm applying this year. But my sister does attend RMC. So that's where all the info is coming from.)

  • got my application papers for RMC yesterday! :)

  • HAHAHAHAI RECOGNIZE THE 2 FIRST YEARS!

  • Grizzly flight Atten- Choo? Stand at Eyes? Commands given are terrible. it is 'Atten-shun, and Stand at Ease!' come on!

  • @Kippenheim It was done on purpose. =_=

  • fuck yeah im going there next year. cant wait

  • @Kelertasable whats the minimal physical requirement of the army?

  • @Avatarass Theres a lot of things. Check Google.

  • RMC looks amazing. It must be a great experience to learn there.

  • What kind of degree do you need to do in order to become an armour officer? And what high school qualifications do you need to do that?

  • @xzxzDManxzxz & @DExAvalon thanks for the info, but i have another question that I'm hoping to have answered. I took a look at the handouts I got and wanted to apply for the Economics/Arts undergraduate study program, but I looked at the "Core Cirriculum" heading in the "Royal Military College of Canada" folder, which includes some subjects that I didn't take. I was wondering: are those included with the undergrad program or not? And if they are, am I going to have to take them to get in?

  • i have a question! my boyfriend is planing on joining the RMCC and i was wondering if he will be able to live in a house with me and our son or if he will have to stay in the barracks? and is there any advise that you can give to me and my boyfriend?

  • @angelicatherine Your boyfriend will not be able to live with you and your son for his time at the school.

  • @Kelertasable

    this is kind of late.

That is untrue, if you are already married and have kids, you can usually apply for live-off status.

  • @fanmanabc you cant live in the same room, during the studies. thats what i meant

  • @999K9z I was at the fair was well today. The government pays for your tuition and books, but not your residence fee (mandatory residence for the first 3 years.) You are also paid a salary of around 16 000, where 5000 is deducted for residence and meal plan.

  • The RMC was at the university fair for high school students that i went to today, and i am interested in maybe applying to there. but i have just one question: Is there a tuition cost if you get accepted, or does the government take care of the cost? One of my friends told me that the government pays, but i'm not sure if he's right. Could you help?

  • @999K9z it's free... in terms of money. After you graduate you are required to be in the Canadian Army for a minimum of three years. Then it's your choice to renew your contract or retire from the military

  • @xzxzDManxzxz from RMC its 8 years now

  • All i want to know, is what kind of education do you need prior to joining RMC?

  • You can't learn leadership, you have it or you don't

  • Comment removed

  • @Leninio72 Haha I agree...it really only shows maybe 1/8th of what we do and cuts out some main things such as 6am parades with good ole O'Keeffe and FYOP!

  • cool beans

  • Can anyone tell me if you go to this College can you become a General or Major or Captain in the Canadian army

  • @airsofthalloween when you are done your schooling you have the chance to be a officer

  • @airsofthalloween

Yes you can, if you stay long enough. RMC offers a 4 year bachelors program in Arts, Science or Engineering. After that 4 years, assuming you pass your academics, military qualification tests, the physical requirements, as well as the bilingualism aspect of the institution (you have to be proficient in French to fully graduate from RMC) then you receive your commission as a 2nd Lieutenant if you are Army or Air Force or Acting sub-Lieutenant if you are Navy.

  • @airsofthalloween

Yes, our Current CDS(Chief of the Defence Staff) General Walter Natynczyk went through RMC. As did Astronauts Chris Hadifield and Marc Garneau!

  • ATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENTIOOOOOOOOOOOOOON they sound so dum when they say that

  • @BabysFace next time you should check to make sure you didn't forget the b on the end of dumb, i mean it was just a mistake, its not like you are dumb right?

  • @Northernsharpshooter lol thats is VERY childish. You couldnt find anything better to say, so you had to go pick out my typo.

  • @BabysFace I am not picking on you or your typo or would it be childish??? I am simply telling you that most people will spam the shit out of you for calling something/someone dumb and misspelling it wether it was a typo or not.

  • @BabysFace glad we have a understanding :) lol

  • I want to go there not bad but beyond that. It's MY DREAM!! I LOVE R.M.C. Je adore le colege militare! (yes I have to improve my french a bit) :P

  • having an 81% average in grade 12 realistic for acceptance?

  • @savone99 i got in with approx at 79% average but i am also fluent in english and french as well as a strong military background in my family..also my aptitude test score was extremely high( dunno how i did it tho lol) and im a hockey player and ive been in contact wit the coach since ive applied...there are so many factors that affect acceptance but usually an 80 and up is good

  • @savone99 they look at alot more than just your grades...so make sure you don't just rely on that they want signs of leadership get into sports, someones whos in shape obv more than just that...good luck with everything tho

  • @NagNATION

Having previous military training is a plus. That would be conisdered a DEOP (Direct entry officer plan). As for age, as long as you pass the physical and medical requirements with sufficient schooling, you are fine.

  • is anyone going to RMC this fall?

if so let me know if you've receiver your papers from them cause im still waiting.

But ive already been told that im accepted for ROTP and i leave august 14

  • @donkeydong11 heyy i may be going to RMC this fall, i sent a message to your inbox! kkay

  • Hi everyone, my name is Salvatore and I have a question. If you go to the RMC, can you get a degree in life sciences and eventually go to medical school? I also wanted to know, if you go to the RMC, do you have to be enlisted for duty and eventually fight a war after you are done your 4 years of schooling there?

    Thanks

  • @canadianmusician1 you do have to serve time after you graduate they dont just give you a free education and send you on your way. when my brother finished there he was alowd to give a list of places he would want to go but ultimately the choice wasn't his (but most people he new got to go were they wanted)

  • @NagNATION hi friend. I work at the RMC, but I don't have a full answer for you. Give a call to your local recruiting centre. RMC is a great place!

  • The equivelent is hte United States Military Academy i assume?

  • I cant wait after high school. i wish to go to RMC its like my life goal to be an officer in the military.

  • heh, nice garageband loops...

  • Does the RMC offer and 3 year bachelor degree's? if so what courses are they? i'm planning on becoming a MARS officer which only requires a 3 year bachelor degree

  • @b4champ three year degrees are not offered by RMC, but are on occasion granted to OCdts that have failed enough courses in their four years to obtain a general arts degree, and do not wish to return for another year/semester.

Every program here is rounded until second-third year.

  • what courses does the RMC offer 3 year bachelor degree's? i would like to become a MARS officer which only requires a 3 year bachelor degree??

  • Hi. I'm currently in gr.11 and I'd like to know if there's a course for air traffic controller and if there is what courses should I take in gr.12 and what grades would I need?

  • we share the same path, I'll see you if you continue it

  • What college were you planning on going to?

I was planning on going to Seneca.

  • If not through the army, I considered Seneca, BCIT or UND. I hope I can get accepted in to the army though because there is a course after you get an engineering degree which takes you 4-5 years.

  • Ahh I see. Where are you in Canada. Where are you going to get your engineering degree? I don't plan on taking an engineering course for me because I think I'm not smart enough for it. The course in Seneca is only 2 years right? I was also planning to go to Waterloo or Western but then I'd had to buy residence which I can't because I don't have the money for. Where is UND?

  • Well with that degree you also get direct training to the field you want to go in, which is atc. I'm also considering Waterloo or Western because of it's short time but I have no idea about their requirements and costs. UND is University of North Dakota.

  • Hi, I actually just got in this year, and for the exact course you're looking for.

Its not called ATC, rather "Aerospace Controller". That would be your profession, completely different from the degree that you obtain while at RMC.

For example, you could be a pilot, but only have a bachelors of arts, etc.

Admission into RMC is not solely marks, instead, a well rounded person is sought. additionally Cadets does help.

    (pardon my YT spelling)

Any further questions, feel free to mail me.

  • @fanmanabc

Does RMC have any courses like that?

Ahh I see, well how about being in a leadership workshop

in gr.8 and then being nominated to be in a leadership course

which I couldn't take. I'm also taking french immersion.

  • @ROCKL33FAN

You will thank yourself if you arrive here fluent in french many times over.

  • i wish i'd joined this when i started uni.

  • Bus 343...JASON HO. Who else was forced to watch this video for marketing at SFU lol???

  • My daughter has been a cadet since last year shes 15 and absolutly loves it and follow instruction to the letter . You should see her shining her boots . But her room is a mess behavior at school ouff

  • i spent summer 08 in fort sauve, 3rd floor and of the hall lmfao,

  • Vieilles pipes monarchistes ennemis de toutes les révolutions!

  • Hi guys, I'm 20 yrs old, currently 3rd year at the UNiversity of Waterloo, Ontario, can I still join RMC?

  • @somenexguy nope

  • hey man, i go to laurier (highschool down the street haha) and I am 3rd year there, i am in ROTP right now. The Captian told me that there was no point in going to RMC (why would the army want to pay for 3 years of education, when they can just cover your 4th year?) If you have any questions on joining up for ROTP or anything, just message me and I can help you out man.

  • hey please msg me! I want to join the Army as a Medical technician! I am aware that I would have to go for the 14-week intensive training program, but I was just wondering what course I would have to take at the RMC to become a medical technician for the army...

  • Finish your degree, and enter through the direct entry officer plan.

  • Is this in Kingston or Saint-Jean?

  • @bmxrider4ever Kingston

  • ah ha, I saw that flirting ,lol j/k

  • How hard is selection to RMC I really wanna join

  • @pokemon1059 if you're an east-coast kid with high marks or from quebec, you'll get in. it's easier to just get the scholarship, though, and study at a civi university. rmc kids don't get much (if at all) of a leg up on direct entries or civy ROTP so it's not much a positive or a negative, just means you went there, did your time and got your degree.

  • What happends once you graduate, what if you wanted to go to go to war. would you be able to? and if so what cattagory would you have to study towards any? im sorry im kinda lost :P

  • going into rmc u have 1) the degree u wanna get (ex. civil engineering) 2)the job u wanna get (ex. pilot, etc)

these two are based on ure amplitude test and ure school marks so u might be put in the front lines depending what job u get selected for

  • You really don't know much about the Canadian Forces do you?

  • you have to be a citizen in order to join the RMC?

  • yes

  • yes, u have to be 17 and a canadian citizen

  • duh, u have to be a citizen, they wont accept illegal immigrants for fucks sake.

  • dude shut up, i don't have my citizenship yet and i bed i have a better chance of getting in then you.

  • who is applying to rmc this year?

  • hi... im trying to apply to rmc this fall, but not sure how the application process goes, can you tell me how i can apply?

  • go to a military recruiter to start the process

  • go to ure local recruiting center, they will guide u thru everything.

  • i am :)

    im from manitoba, u? :O

  • Im from ontario? How far along the process are you?

  • goes there*
