I am a fan of Japan of PP&M from old times. I saw this performance of Paul in Japan. I felt the human nature that loved Paul's person strong. This is wonderful work to exceed music. Thank you Paul!!!!
This shouldn't happen to any family but hysteria over abduction of a few dozen people when the Japanese abducted 4.5 million Koreans and themselves and have yet to even admit to their atrocities is ridiculously hypocritical. This wouldn't be ridiculous if NK abducted a few thousand Megumis and forced them into sexual slavery. But all this fuss over one girl when Japan still refuses to own upto its own atrocities is morally repugnant.
It is absolutely horrible what happened to this girl, but you make a good point. I'm surprised North Korea didn't insist upon a public apology from Koizumi for wartime atrocities as terms for the repatriation of some of the Japanese abductees. Plus, Japan's handling of the issue is suspicious at best. It was big political bonanza for the incumbant party at the time. There has also been heavy criticism of the forensic analysis by Japanese scientists of Megumi's alleged remains.
I am so glad to be able to watch this movieThank you so much!
As a Japanese, I have no word how Pauls work is meaningful to Megumis family and us. I just wish peaceful days comes to all North-korean people as soon as possible and also to families who are victims of politics between Japan and North-Korea.
Japan is morally bankrupt and has no credibility to condemn NK abductions. The hypocrisy is overwhelming. Japan denies, whitewashes, excuses having abducted over 5.4 million Koreans into forced labor including sexual slavery without batting an eye including millions more tortured, murdered, dissected alive. But when 13-19 Japanese are abducted, majority of whom were returned alive, Japan expects sympathy? The immense hypocrisy turns personal tragedy of 19 abductees into an international farce.

This is sad but absolutely hypocritical since Japan abducted 4.5 million Koreans and forced them into slave labor including sexual slavery. Japan getting worked up over a few abductions when Japan committed far greater atrocities which they still haven't fully owned up to makes Japanese hysterics over Megumi nonsensical. Mind you that Japan is the ONLY country in the world that allowed trade, tourism with NK which would have been unimaginable for US and SK.
Megumi is an abandoned lady from her mother country Japan. Hundreds of others are the same... Japan is crazy.
