  • The dream is most the powerful thing ever to achieve anything you want in life. Period.

  • FICTION!!!

  • cwood wow the jersey scene was a lie but most of the film did happen including him getting carried off the field so I guess he wasn't just another player for those guys you tool

  • @greymoose1000 it's not fiction, it's just that hard to believe that this kid actually did this and went after his dream. It came true

  • I thought I was the best athlete in the world when I was playing tackle football in my back yard with the neighborhood kids, no one could tackle me, I ran over everyone. I just knew I would be the next Walter Payton! This domination on the gridiron lasted until I got into Jr. High. lmao I quickly realized that I wasn't a great football player, but the kids I grew up with were just really bad!

  • I'm a grounds keeper for the football stadium at NotreDame. I grew up just four blocks from the stadium. Every day i go to work I thank GOD for letting me part of such a Great place. I feel like RUDY all the time. GOD IS GOOD.LOVE THY NOTREDAME.

  • @NotreDameDude88 RUDY was FICTION!

  • @greymoose1000 USC SUCKS

  • @greymoose1000 I think this video is evidence enough that it's not fiction retard lol, I mean it's pretty obvious that it really happened. You need to slap yourself three times.

  • @cdubmeyer It didn't happen as showed in the movie dip shit. The players who actually played with him one of them was Joe Montana exposed the movie as bull shit. The scene when the players turned their uniforms in so Rudy could play was a lie.Never happened, they let Rudy play because its Notre Damn traditions is to let one player play the last game of the season.Rudy isnt different than the other player/ The only reason why he know of his is because he sold the story to a director. slap yourself

  • @cwood4ever #1 I never said that everything from the movie was true. Owned. #2 No movie ever makes it 100% true, they have to make scenes to keep peope tuned in. Owned. #3 I could care less for this guy, he has been indicted on scamming people recently and don't care for you to explain this whole detailed explanation when I didn't say that the whole movie was true, but it's defienetly not fiction which is what I told him. Owned and learn how to read. Now slap yourself 4 times.

  • @greymoose1000: It's possible LSU may win. But I think Rammer Jammer has as much chance at being song at the end of that game. Whoever wins will win the national championship. SEC!!! Need I say more.

We still want be playing little USC in the SUN BOWL this year. BCS bound. Look for Bama and OK in Title Game.....Roll Tide!!!

  • @Greymoose1000: What??? Listen kid, this was a grown up conversation, you need to go sit on daddy's knee and get him to tell you about the Big Boys in College football. USC is a blast from the past. Any slang toward Alabama means nothing. The Tide does it's talk on the field. Ask Ark. and Fl. Keep up with them this year, if LSU don't stop them they may add another National Championship. But you son shouldn't be on your dads comp. So run alone so you don't hear things little boys shouldn't......

  • @Tide12NC UAT plays out of conference cupcakes every year. LSWHO will spank UAT at Tuscaloser. AUTURD more than likely will beat UAT this year. Nick SATAN is DONE!

  • I graduated from Notre Dame. I have never figured out what Joe Montana's problem is about this issue. Anyone can take an old, archived issue of "The Observer" (our weekly ND newspaper) and see this story is true. Yes, it's Hollywood so had to be embellished, but.....SOOOOOO??? Just take the movie for what it's worth and go with it.

  • @peasblossom1973 Basically, Joe Montana must be a man who is inclined to tell the truth!

  • Being an Alabama fan and knowing the Irish are in the group of top historic teams, to walk on there and do what he did, WOW. Never give up on your dream. One of my favorite movies.

  • @Tide12NC This type of response should be expected from a follower of a truly delusional school (UAT in Tuscaloser) about a truly delusional and fictional piece of crap (RUDY)! You have been addressed by the great and wise GREYMOOSE of USC!

  • As a die hard Michigan fan, I absolutely love this story. This is the American dream and Rudy is just the greatest example of what we can do if we put our minds to it. Nothing, absolutely nothing is beyond our reach if we want it badly enough and if we work hard for our dreams. Great, great story.

  • Rudy was not a fraud. U could never amount to the man he was

  • wooow im scared. he said in highschool he was 5 "7 and 165 pounds. Thats exactly what i am and im a defensive end. holy shit, but im a greshman so i got an excuse.

  • Rudy was such a fraud.

  • Thumbs up if you've cried watching the movie

  • Just watched the movie for like the 20+ time

It's my favorite sports movie ever

  • I have dyslexia too, I finished Highschool but I hate yet to find my place in life.

  • I have been a Notre Dame fan all my life. And I love this movie. My Dad and Grandpa would also clean the field after. My Grandma has recently died. She had pictures of my Dad from his childhood. He came across some from a Notre Dame game. It was a polaroid, there was a date on the back. 11-8-1975. My Dad and Grandpa had been at the actual Rudy game! Ever since I found this out, I've always wanted to meet Rudy. So please thumb this comment so he can see this and maybe I will be able to meet him..

  • @gabby554466 He owns a gym in Joliet Illinois about an hour south from Chicago, I live near there and alot of people I know go to work out there. If you wanted and could, im sure you could go there and ask for him and he would be glad to meet you.

  • @gabby554466 That is freaking cool.

  • @gabby554466 I doubt you want to meet him now, he has been accused of being a scammer, and he already has returned hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines

  • @cdubmeyer doesn't matter. I still want to meet him because he is such an icon. And his story is such an inspiration.

  • The world is a better place with this story being told. I've seen the movie over 20 times and it still brings me to tears every time. Thank God for people like this in the world.

  • I'am so glad my teachers showed me this movie really insires me to listen to yourself and you can do whatever you can BEST MOVIE!!! thumbs up if you think the same

  • I love the movie Rudy, the five people who hated this video have no life!

  • 5 people are georgia tech fans

  • The one goal I've always had in life was just to succeed in anything I did. But, I know I would never make it to the college I've always wanted to go and that was Penn State.

  • I love this moveie gets me inspired to do real big things

  • how did 4 people dislike this?

  • i love this story i think was the best story

  • @barakaellie543 You must truly love fiction!!!! this was a fictional account. Even Joe Montana said so.

  • @greymoose1000 RIGHT ON MY "TROJAN" BROTHER!! It's the equivalent to Charles Barkley stating while playing for *ubarn (AL) that he never received money, then years later admitted he took money all the time and knew several players in other *ubarn (AL) sports who did the same!

    FIGHT ON, BABY!

  • @graymoose1000 UAT Crimson Turds!!!!

  • @greymoose1000 NATURALLY RIGHT AGAIN MY "TROJAN" BROTHER!!! And then there's the *ubarn (AL) War Sociology, sheep-humping, rodeo-worshiping, trailer park residing, sister-banging, KKK supporting Eagles!!!

    FIGHT ON, BABY!!

  • @graymoose1000 UAT!

  • @greymoose1000 YOU'RE RIGHT MY "TROJAN" BRO!! Don't forget about the backwoods prison known as *ubarn (AL) either!!

    FIGHT ON, BABY!

  • @graymoose1000 UAT CRIMSON TURDS. AUTURD TIGERS! LSWHO! UT BIG ORANGE TURDS! This comprises the mighty SEC!!!

  • @greymoose1000 RIGHT AGAIN MY "TROJAN" BRO!! The SEC is the most corrupt conference in the NCAA, due in large part to *ubarn (AL). But can you blame them? Who would want to live in that backwoods, Mayberry prison for free?

    FIGHT ON, BABY!!

  • @graymoose1000 UAT!

  • "Im a dreamer not a doer" bullshit rudy! YOU DID BOTH!!! Long live RUDY RUETTIGER!

  • I just watched the movie and truly it was ver motivational and made me realize that

Just because your not very smart or you have a learning/physical disability that you can do anything you want to and from now one i wiill stay true to that

  • his high school teacher is jackass!

  • Joe Montana stated that this was just bullshit. Fight on USC Trojans!!!

  • i love the movie man!

  • @BROCKLANDERS93 hey do you know where can i see the movie online?

  • One thing that no school to ever play college football cannot match the history and tradition of Notre Dame!!! All Hail THE Irish!!!!

  • @guccivuitton1 You're a black man aren't you? It hows your maturity in your comment. Everyone who reads this spooks comment needs to click the vote down button

  • @mykd4sound70 Excuse me motherfucker? Are you calling black men stupid? Did you go to college? Look at your 2nd sentence of your comment. And wtf is a spook? I'm not a fucking spook, monkey, or nigger. I'm a fucking man and I might be a better man and more intelligent than you are. You being white doesn't make you any smarter than any black man.

  • @tremone21 I dont know what the hell the agruement between you two rooted from, but racism is always VERY out of line, dont listen to him, assholes like him are the bane of america,

  • @tremone21 Good for you. I didn't say anyone was smarter than anyone else. I was playing your game of racial slurs.

  • @mykd4sound70 I hope you get hiv.

  • @tremone21 Not gonna happen

  • @tremone21 God bless you, no matter what you have a problem with

  • gr8 ty so much for psting very good one of my fav movies!!!!!! ty good to hear the reall story wich was close!!

  • I heard this kid, Rudy, graduated at the age of 33. He went to ND for 14 years.

    Was this true?

He now lives at home in South Bend with his parents plus his 300 pound wife plus 6 kids on welfare.

    RUDY RUDY RUDY RUDY

  • Thats not true at all.

  • @cbragg43 ?

  • Dude, who dislikes this?

I'm thinking of running a marathon, and this is giving me belief that I can do it!

  • @streetlampsatsix You can do it my friend,I ran a marathon back in Feb.and I finished it,you just need to beleave in yourself!

  • The H.S. classroom scenes were filmed at John Adams High School in So. Bend, IN. That was during my Junior year and the extras (other students) were actual JAHS students. It was a fun time in the area.

  • @deesyphrr i go to school at adams.

  • @mattythemole My best to you. I know you will always remember the path you've taken, never easy, frought with self doubt, and yet you persevered. Excellent. Now, in retirement, I try to encourage the next generation to never settle for something but strive for what they feel can be achieved. And this is my wish for you; to share your experience with others, and offer encouragement through example. Well done.

  • Here in So. Cal Kevin and Bean in the morning from Kroq 106.7fm totally squashed Rudy's story. They felt that his story was not worth being told because the truth is on top of only being played once he barely kept a decent grade point average and was on academic probabation in and out of his time at Notre Dame. Know wonder our country is failing when people like Kevin and Bean from Kroq are sending a message to people to give up......FUCKING MEDIA! Rudy is a true display of courage!

  • What a true joke, one of 14 and this kid who's not rich wants to go to Notre Dame?

Are you serious? That ain't gonna happen!!! This guy, this dreamer made it happen? wow!!! He's got the heart of a Lion!! He's got God on his side!!

Rudy, how YOU made this happen!!! Whoa!! Good for you brother!!!!!

  • the rudy movie was great, the goonie sean astin did awsome job playing rudy, sean astin is very talented actor, keep dreaming and never give up!

    GO IRISH

  • im a buckeyes and irish fan, i i have alot of respect for rudy ruettiger, he is an inspiration, rudy will allways be remembered as a notre dame football legend, my favorite fighting irish players are # 45 rudy ruettiger, and # 6 jerome bettis.

  • All he did was tackle and had a dream WTF?they made a movie out of this??? Gayyyy

  • @acmilanfan1011 your such a dipshit!

  • @acmilanfan1011 you're such a dip shit!

  • @acmilanfan1011 your gay dude seriously....i doubt you ever get this kinda recognition in 100 lifetimes if you had any you jack ass

  • ay lets go this relate wit my life in highskool alot rite now i jus got some inspiration

  • 14 kids! ever heard of a condom? How selfish, as bad as the Octomom

  • @Obelisk2290 I know kids who have 15 or 16 brothers and sisters! Having 14 kids is nothing compared to other people! Having 14 kids just made it harder for the family to make money with all those mouths to feed, and even more incredible he achieved his dream!

  • @EmilyJustem comdoms cost less than kids

  • @EmilyJustem you're a moron. Nobody cares if you know people with more kids. The fact is 14 kids is a shitload of kids.

  • @Obelisk2290 @Obelisk2290 Selfish according to the new environmental thought, but back then people thought differently. Its funny how intolerant you libs are.

  • @Cenamark2 has nothing to do with liberal or conservative if so back then people though slavery was acceptable and a 32 year old impregnating a 15 year old was acceptable and others before the "new environmental thought". Its called progress

  • @Obelisk2290

It is not selfish if parents are able to provide a decent life for their children. I am not saying that his parents were able to though.

  • @wargod2009 Most parents cant and saddle their children with a big disadvantage, have to live with government assistance and their kids cant go to college and the cycle continues. As far as the movie, Montana said that the movie was overblown

  • What a great story.

    Rudy did it.

You have to love the guy.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Rudy: "I was 5 foot 7, 165 pounds..."

WRONG! You were 5 foot nothin', 100-and-nothin'!

  • Hey Rudy----you really did it-----you knew me, Drew, I left, but still love all that is ND.....this wll be the year!!!!!

  • @dwemhoff you knew rudy?

  • @summerrox11 Rudy was/is a great friend

  • this story keep me in football im the rudy of our high school football team and i love this story!!!

  • This movie makes me feel like shit when Im feeling sorry for myself.

  • Im a texas longhorns fan, and ive never liked notre dame and i never understood why anybody did. Then i watched rudy. Now everytime I watch a notre dame game, i probably will look upon them with more respect and think of all those kids who want to go there, much like i want to be a longhorn.

  • i go to his school

  • i love u rudy

  • Georgia 2014.

  • He was a dreamer and a doer

  • He's an inspiration! My dream school has always been UCLA since I graduated high school. I got admitted 6 years later; I'm attending in the Fall of 2010 :)

  • @valrk247 that is awesome!

  • @valrk247 - Congratulations!!!!

  • @valrk247 Thats sweet. My dream school is Arkansas since I was little...I used to live in Arkansas growing up. I live in San Diego now. I've talked to my parents about it and they support of the opportunity. I am leaving at the beginning of December.

  • @hdl0519 Congrats and good luck!

  • "Having dreams is what makes life tolerable". Great quote. Without dreams, what is really the point?

  • Great Movie...........

  • I <3 this movie!

  • The Best Movie !!!

  • Rudy's friend Pete looks like John Lennon.

This movie is my all time favorite

  • nice

  • I had a similar school experience, having dyslexia placed me in the eyes of my high school guidance counselor as not college material. Based on that judgement, I went to a trade school to learn radio and TV repair. Then I began to wonder why I couldn't go to college when I seemed to excel in science and math. I eventually graduated with a PhD in geophysics from Rice U.

  • @targabob Wow. That's amazing

  • @targabob A good lesson out of your experience is to not listen to (or i should say, take to heart) what a highschool guidance counselor tells you. Their opinion is just an opinion, where they have no way of knowing your true potential. The often think they do, and that's a huge mistake they make. The best one's are the one's who believe in the dream, the unknown. Congrads on defying the odds mate.

  • @targabob god bless you...very inspiring

  • @targabob Same here! Growing up I never knew anything about college nor did my parents for I was raised in a typical American blue collar household just like rudy. I had dreams of my own but my parents never took me seriously because I wasnt the best student in grade or high school. After high school I became a carpenter apprentice till one fusterating day after six years I had enough and quit. I am now 30 years old and finishing the final year of my undergrad at Cal. Poly San Louis Obispo.

  • @MattyTheMole good for you Matty, you have achieved what most people will never accomplish in their entire lives. Congratulations on being a success story

  • @targabob

Great life story and achievement. Never let people put you down... Most guidance counselors seem to be not too bright

  • the priest reminds me of my asshole math teacher in H.S. ruthless, belittling, hostile. I graduated 2nd in my class at law school.

  • yeah.... but what law school....

  • HOLLYWOOD upstairs law college, or maybe Harvard, it doesnt matter, a shitty teacher with a chip on his/her shoulder is damaging

  • his brother is one of my deans at my high school

  • Yup nice, great inspiring guy. Has a comical side to him too, signed alot of my stuff too GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey I got to meet Rudy Ruettiger and did a speech very inspirational was awesome, being born and raised in Indiana big ND fan and being Catholic, my dream was to go to ND too, Ironic thing to was my first ND game was Nov 8,03, Rudy's last and only game he played in Nov 8th 1975 28yrs to the day, I showed him the ticket stub and told him about it, He's like oh wow guy thats great we were destine to meet. Gave him a ND Shirt and ND hat and said you were born to wear this hat.

  • wow

  • What is the speech called that he says "Were gonna go go go and were win win win" will you please send to me in message. thankyou. GO IRISH

  • S: unsure if he was a Christian

  • this just shows what can happen when you dont get up... most guys just would of quit... i no i would

  • I met him.. really nice guy.. small had to be tough

  • Sounds like an amazing man.

  • I am a Penn State fan, and Notre Dame used to be one of our archrivals, but this is probably the most inspirational story I have ever seen for a kid like Rudy, doing what he wanted to do. So I put my feelings against Notre Dame aside and really took a look at his incredible story.

  • Glad we kno ppl suffer from LD problems 2day bc now ppl can get the proper help n judged in a better lite as opposed 2 being "stupid".

  • look at his helmet at 1:11. thats not a notre dame helmet....hmmm i wonder which school that is

  • looks like a michigan helmet

  • He also went to Holy Cross

  • go fuck yourself pathetic cunt....losers like you should die

  • Wow, what a sad little man you must be. Rudy didn't get love and support from his family either but he turned that into a drive and desire to accomplish great things and he did. He continues to do great things through the Rudy Ruettiger Foundation. Check it out. It just might help you find some peace and purpose in your life. GO IRISH!

  • i replied to some guy who was dissing rudy...not to rudy himself. rudy is a legend i know that...

  • I guess you should die.

  • I know all to well about being a dreamer. I've got the exact same problem, its sucks when you have to face the real world but it can help get you through some hard times.

  • You have a learning disorder?

  • I have ADD.

  • rudys a good guy he worked hard to achieve this i mean i know i have learning disibilitys as well i had my diploma modfied in highschool i always want to make the baseball team an basketball team an have never had a mentor or much of a father in life so i felt like rudy i always had to try an fail my only goal in life was to be aBLE TO GRAB THE RIM ON A 10FT RIM I HOPE ITS NOT TO LATE IM 28YLD BUT BELIEVE ITS STILL ACHIEVEABLE

  • yeah i can see that being the case.. the fans don't know anything about the prep teams or anything. i guess most movies based on true stories have to be fictionalized a bit to make it worth watching

  • ya he was a fucking long snapper rudy made a fucking sack. rudy is the fucking man

  • the best part of the movie was when he checked his mail box for the last time and got in! I always get choked up every time i watch that part.

  • Go Rudy.

  • my name is Rudy and I actually met this guy and when I did I told him my name was Rudy and he immediately gave me an autograph which he was makin everyone pay for except me and talked to me for alittle while... real cool guy!

  • he got in on a notre dame varsity game. and made a tackle. what have u done with your life. prolly get a bunch of worthless degrees. thats really acheiving a dream lol. i would like to see anyone do what he did. he did it and he did it all by him self. he did the work. id be show boating too. id rub it in every ones face who ever doubted me

  • Only in this country do people look down on the educated . . .. Getting a degree, not to mention multiple degrees is not worthless. It is an accomplishment as well, that requires a lot of hard work. But Rudy's story is different. It appeals to the American spirit, the American dream, and the value of hard work. He is allowed to be arrogant, he got a degree from one of the best schools in the country while battling a learning disability! On top of ALL that, he was a hero on the field. Amazing =)

  • Are you talking about Rudy?

  • yea. NOt Sean Astin

  • What happened extacly?

  • LOL he charges for autographs but my name is Rudy also so he gave me one for free and talked to me a bit... he seems cool he seems like a guy I could get drunk with!

  • It doesnt matter whether only one guy held him on his shoulders or all of them, or whether the whole stadium cared, what matters is he played for notre dame, which for many seemed impossible!

  • i met him in real life!

  • Is Rudy a nice guy?

  • OH YEA DUDE TOTALLY!...hes my idol and my role model

  • I don't think Rudy married his girlfriend, I just watched the movie this past weekend, and from what I understood was his brother hooked up with her while he was away.

  • Go Notre Dame!!

  • The Rudy movie was great, but as is common with movies "based on true stories" it is juked up with bullshit. Ex; in the movie, at the end, nearly the whole team is focused on Rudy with him being hauled off a hero. In real life, it was just a couple of players half-assed holding him up briefly with no one else paying any attention. The players never threatened to quit either. Oh well, Hollywood.

  • Ha, Ha you know at least he did it.
