This always brings tears to my eyes, especially due to the fact that at my age, though there are many chances, the likelihood of me affecting the world anytime soon is quite slim. Though when older, I am determined to make quite a decent dent for the good.
I love his REAL voice too!! Such a beautiful tone and such an emotional performance. I felt so moved by his singing. Spent most of his singing crying.
The other boy sings well too but, no disrespect intended, he didn't sound like a boy who had lost his mother singing. It was strong but lacking in the emotion department.
I really hate the ridiculous censorship decision made for this. It wasn't fair to the talents of both kids or to the memory of Uudam's late mum since the performance was dedi
Either way it's still good the judges herd his voice and said yes so he won not the kid who he was over dubbed with he's amazing more emotion in his version.
I think both version are good. Personally, I more like his voice without dub, it's much more emotion. He is great of soft and sweet voice plus matching body language to the song he sang. I like all his show so much emotion.
1.There is a big difference between inner mongolia and Mongolia. Mongolia is the independent country while inner mongolia is a province of China. Inner Mongolians do speak Mongolian with some heavy accent.
2.The original song is not an Inner Mongolian song but its a song by a famous Mongolian singer.
@vio11vio I'm just wondering do Mongolians from Mongolia think inner mongolians are one family even though there are some differences between you guys.
As a Han Chinese I hope Inner Mongolians can treat Han and other ethnic in China as one family because we are from a multi ethnic country(sadly too many Han).
I also think Inner Mongolians should be one family with Mongolians because of culture and historic ties. Just like a daughter marring to another family she is part of 2 family
i dont like his overdub voice. its too loud and clear. its not as natural and caring. the other one sounds like hes screaming his voice out at the higher parts. :( they shouldnt overdub his voice
As for this, I'd guess it has to do with sound quality or the same factor, of giving a great show. You can't say this affected the boy badly, after all he came as far as to the finals. They also cut out parts to make his story even sadder than it was. So, I don't think this has any ill will, I mean seriously it doesn't benefit Chins to put a boy at a bad position. And if they did cut out his voice, it was solely to help other Chinese mongolian understand him better.
If you are referring to the Olympics, China actually didn't think they did anything wrong. For China putting up a good show and showing what they can do is a form of good will. You forget human rights has a very low profile, and the grls were OK with what they did. It's part of Chinese culture
Why did they even bother dub his voice? It is even better than the dub. It is as if the Chinese officials are trying to ruin him by making a scandal out of it. All just because he is Mongolian.
I don't see a complete difference, there are changes, but I love this voice, it really is amazing, why they would dub it over is beyond me, i love it though.
Both versions of singing "Mother in the Dream" are outstanding. Personally, I like to enjoy Uudam's performance. His body language and voice together expressing his sorrow, sadness, and memories... to his mom. This is out of his ind and his heart at that moment. His voice is softer, emotional, and the key is just right. How can a person thought of his passing away parents with a high key? That is why viewers and fans can listen to Uudam's voice again and again and still want to hear it.
Toi la nguoi Viet . Khi nghe bai hat, tuy không hieu nhung da rat cam dong. Sau khi doc bai hat duoc phiên am va nghe Cau Be hat va biết than the cua Cau Be . Tuy the , Toi thay Cau Be rat manh me, Cau Be se co cuộc song em dem va hanh phuc vi Me cua em se doi theo tung bước cua em trên duong doi sau nay. Chuc em thanh cong. God bless you , Uudam!
Both are amazing, but the dubbed version has obviously gone through some cleaning and smoother..Even so, I like Uudams version more...it's higher and there is some faults, but I like his voice, the sound, and the feeling better..
@leemeicen no difference. Outer Mongolians are the pure Mongolians so we have no accents and speak it perfectly. Because inner mongolians have some mix with chinese they speak witha heavy accent
so this is the original version from Wudamu...hmmm when u talked bout it i jst realized now... but no matter what Wudamu still got his quality in this song... both baator dorji and wudamu gave all their best in this song ^.^
Drinaandkitty, I'm not even going to tell you what a stupid shit head you are with your comment below. Before you put a judgement on someone you should understand why he sings about his mother and not his dad but then you're too stupid to understand so I'll save it since you can't even type English properly. What a beautiful song sung by a beautiful boy!
I would like to say to Uudam, If people around you (your producer or manager) make you to change how to sing, please don't change, keep your style. Because, I really love your singing, your singing is beautiful, wonderful, and I can feel your tendering from your crystal voice very much. So... please don't change..
Thank you for making the this movie without dub (real voice) on the TV film. I would like to get from 0:00 to 10:04 part of this for often watching and listening, also... ( I mean, the version cut after 10:05) can you make it ?
It was really touching ... Listen to songs and words of Uudam confided in kenh14.vn mademe cry, though I totally do not understand the lyrics that you sing ... But when you sing I can not stop crying. Especially touched when women cry Uudam judges can call her "Mom" does not, and the stage and hugged Uudam. Uudam lovely ... I love Uudam ... so much ...
a non real voice have bad lower temp quality that's why it ( dubbed ) cannot express emotions, because he cannot pronounce true mongolian L, D, T and U, like true Uudam can
i don't think the reason he got dubbed was because of his dialect. I think it was purely a quality assurance mistake on the part of post production. They messed up and refused to take blame.
@yunheishere Actually it's because the dubbed version sounds better than the original version.Face it.The audiences ALWAYS prefer arts that sounds or looks better, regardless of sincerity, purpose or practicality of the art, weather is it singing, performing or especially Martial Arts. Wushu lacks the practicality of Martial Arts, and even defeats the purpose of it,is a preferred choice compared to Kung Fu in media. Why?It's because the routine looks more awesome compared to the dull-looking Kung Fu.

I am mongolian and i want to correct some stuff:
1.There is a big difference between inner mongolia and Mongolia. Mongolia is the independent country while inner mongolia is a province of China. Inner Mongolians do speak Mongolian with some heavy accent.
2.The original song is not an Inner Mongolian song but its a song by a famous Mongolian singer.
Hope this settles the confusion =)

@symmetry08 Baatar is Evenki (Tungusic), Mongolian is not his first language. Uudam OTOH is true-blooded Mongol.
BTW, that Taiwanese lady sounds retarded.
