  • Awesome demonstration I love Cooley's reel. But look at the bottom of his whistle at 2:15 drool haha. Happens to the best of us.

  • my favourite tune!!!!

  • sloooooooooooower pleeeeeease!!!

  • nice lessons, thanks!

  • That is a REALLY cool whistle you have there, also thank you for posting these !

  • I just can't get this one up to speed! Is it always played this fast at normal tempo? Is it acceptable to play it a bit slower? The other vids on YouTube of Cooley's are also played super-fast.

  • where can you buy sheet music to this?

  • Thanks!

  • Thank you mate! you are very good!

  • Suggestions for the breathless: where to breathe on part B?

  • can i fing sheet music for this or other reels you plays

  • is there sheet music for this version because i think the sound is off with the fingering and it gets confusing..

  • What are the notes to this?

  • Beautiful michael, thansk you so much. i was wondering would if you would be able to post a video of tabhair dom do lamh. its my favourite tune but its very hard to find a nice version on the whistle.

  • I almost regret learning to play this lol. i cant get it out of my head!

  • Just picked up the whistle a week ago! This video is a great help, such a good tune. Thanks for posting.

  • michael, could you tell me a few reels you teach in the same key as this i could use with it as a set. hunters purse wont work for me.

  • do you know where i can get the sheets for that type of music and showing which holes to cover cause i find it much easier

  • Ow... very nice!! Do you know Rhapsody's version? (Power Metal band)

  • DAMN!! I knew that I've listened to that song before. It was on a Rhapsody (now Rhapsody of Fire) song!! ALZHEIMER!!!

  • Elnor's Magic Valley from Rain of A Thousand Flames (2001)

  • TheWhistleCollector, this version is pretty generic, perhaps you could post your version, would be interesting!

  • that happens a lot to me, i learn a song and it turns out to be a different version in what they normally play, or in sessions.

  • I love Irish music, but at sessions there may be ten, or twenty or thirty musicians all playing the same generic versions of tunes, everybody just playing the melody with nobody playing accompaniment and nobody doing any improvisation. Kind of dull.

  • Reading my earlier comment, it kind of sounds like a complaint. I know these are instructional videos, and you do a great job on them Michael. Thanls!

  • i play a different version, is that possible? it sounds almost like a different song.

  • What kind of whistle do you play?

  • that is a brass Burke, the older version. Burke doesnt make them like that anymore.

  • in fact I have a brass Burke whistle , bought this year.. and it's a bit different

  • yea, Burke improved his models, but I was wrong on this one, this one he is playing a Copeland.

  • ooops, sorry wasnt looking at this whistle, he usually plays a Burke from what i saw. the one he is playing now is a brass Copeland.

  • This is one of my favorite songs, and I never knew the name of it. I have one of these whistles I guess you call it--and I've never known how to play it. Thanks for the instructional videos. They're awesome!! Keep playing!
