Hey, as much as I might hate Capcom's attitude towards Mega Man fans of late, I'm getting this game. Company boycotts only tend to hurt not only the company, but also the consumer too. Doesn't mean that we can't support those wanting games like Mega Man Legends 3 to be brought back to life though. I certainly am going to do just that.

EVERYONE, JESUS CHRIST! It was planned as DLC however when a certain earthquake hit japan, where Capcom operations takes place, they were unable to release it as a patch and as such it required a disc release. You're getting 12 new characters (If they were DLC they'd be 5 bucks a piece) as well as new character costumes and 8 new stages and a COMPLETE SYSTEM OVERHAUL.
12 * 5 = 60 + 5 bucks per pack of 3 new costumes = holy sweet thats a shit ton of money.

They released Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition DLC on June 7th. So that game wasn't affected by the earthquake, but this one was. There seems to be a contradiction there. Again, if you believe them that's your right, but there's no need to get upset that I don't.
@SilverSenturion335 Street Fighet 4 AE was already done. Do you play Madden? Call of Duty? Those games release full 60 dollar games with 1 to 2 new features/maps, and nobody bats an eye. Yet Capcom releases an entirely new game for 40 dollars, and everyone flips shit. They're including a bonus for those who already own Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and I'm sure your local retailer will run a trade in option for your original game. Also, Discs are more accessable to people who don't own MVC already.

@SilverSenturion335 Check Maximillian's youtube channel, in his rundown he talks about the bonus for people who have already bought MvC3:FoTW's. It's the same characters in the same format, whole new game. Certain characters aren't even comparable to their MvC3:FoTW's counterparts (like magneto). The game has changed drastically, by definition, making it new.

I swear.... I miss the days when DLC didn't exist. Remember those days? When you got the game that was the COMPLETE package.... 95% of the time. Now Games announce DLC before they even release. *sigh*
I didn't play MvC3 much to begin with, and I thought I'd play the living hell out of it. I only played for about a month or two before going back to BB:CS. The new characters and balancing and spectator mode are all nice, but here's the thing. MvC3 was released early THIS year, and now this new version is coming out in the same year, and only like 6 or even less months away from the original release. They're releasing this too early is the problem.

The reason everyone is mad is because we basically payed for a beta. That, and the fact that we know Capcom is going to make another 5 versions of MvC3, so why bother?

I know many people who were amped to buy MvC3 but ended up not purchasing after they realised what a piece of shit game it was.

funny because no one cares about mk9 in tourneys anymore, flavor of the month game. Also the characters datas were all on the disks just like capcom does with their characters :)
The new characters aren't the only changes. There are new gameplay modes, different audio and visuals, and new moves/mechanics for preexisting characters and balancing in everyone's movesets.
Also, you might not HAVE to buy the new disk! In Super Street Fighter IV, you could download the Super as an add on by just adding that extra few dollars, or buy it as its own disk. Maybe UMvC3 will be like that!

There hasn't been any word on it being downloadable, but it was just announced today! Give it some time. Capcom did a good sob with SSFIV. I doubt they'd fall away from that.

@jjduck Venom may still come as another expansion of DLC. War Machine is too much like Iron man and they wanted to aviod any clones (thats why theres no ken) and Capcom REALLY wanted to Add Cyclops but marvel wont let'em. And is Captain Raccon a capcom? Cause that would unbalance sides

I didn't play MvC3 much to begin with, and I thought I'd play the living hell out of it. I only played for about a month or two before going back to BB:CS. The new characters and balancing and spectator mode are all nice, but here's the thing. MvC3 was released early THIS year, and now this new version is coming out in the same year, and only like 6 or even less months away from the original release. They're releasing this too early is the problem.
I'll just wait for CS2.

Now Capcom releases an updated version with more characters and some new modes several months later? At least they had the decency to wait around 12 months between Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 4. The new characters aren't the only changes. There are new gameplay modes, different audio and visuals, and new moves/mechanics for preexisting characters and balancing in everyone's movesets.
Also, you might not HAVE to buy the new disk! In Super Street Fighter IV, you could download the Super as an add on by just adding that extra few dollars, or buy it as its own disk. Maybe UMvC3 will be like that!

I hope you're right about that. It didn't say it could be downloaded like that. It might be a disc since it's going to come out in the fall & it's going to cost $40...for now.
