I have landed here - did it in 1988, then off to Manila. The takeoff from Tokyo was the WORST experience I've ever had in an airplane. We hit dead pockets on ascent and dropped drastically. Can't say how far but it felt like the plane fell straight down for close to 3 or 4 seconds at one point.
