SO CLEAR. I have our old album but it certainly does not sound a good as what you have here. Any chance you might give us, Eighteen Cents and Little Stocking with a hole in the Toe. : )
My Uncle and Aunt gave me this LP when I was a little boy in the States, and it must have been 1969! I used to play it all year round and this was my Mum's favourite - even after hearing it through al those summers! I wish it was still available - I've lived in the UK since 1974 and this always meant Christmas to us. It's even more poignant since we lost my Father in January this year, & this will be our first Christmas without him:-(
This was our favorite Christmas album when I was a kid. I have searched high and low to find it ... so thrilled to hear this song. My other favorite was "eighteen cents" ... thanks for sharing this.
I told my younger coworkers about it and directed them to Youtube to check it out. This one and "Little Drummer Boy" by the Harry Simeon Chorale were my favorites. Mom bought both recordings for me when I was a kid. Good times and good memories. It was great to revisit them again... several times. Cheers!
I haven't heard this since at least 1962, and searched for it everwhere hoping to let my children hear it during Christmas. They're teens now, but at least now they can hear the entire song. ;-) Thanks for posting this for those of us old enough to remember the magic of Mixie Pixie. It also brings back fond memories of my late mother. She was always doing her best to bring the magic and joy of the season into our home. Bless you and many thanks!
You're welcome, this was my favorite song out of all the records that my dad used to play around Christmas when I was a kid. I searched around youtube a couple of years ago but couldn't find it, so I thought I'd post it once I got it into data. Glad you like it!
Classic, Thanks so much!
