Shockingly this movie wasn't really that bad. It was a lot better than the Captain America movie around the same time that actually made it as far as a VHS release.

And Doom, while somewhat sarcastically out of character, was awesome! Now we know who was the inspiration for Captain Jack Sparrow.

@daclyde I agree. Captain America is way worse than this. This is oddly charming and fun just being a B-movie. I'm not going to judge this by high budget standards. What's surprising is that no one looks like their here to collect a paycheck. They're really giving it their all whether it's over the top or not.

Dr. Doom is too funny and genre savvy when he's in the Mole man's lair. The best part starts at 0:46. It's out of character but you could tell the writers were having fun.

@DarkLordDiablos Co-sign. While the hero has to be likeable and played well by an actor, the villain could make or break the film. Their credibility as a threat really drives the plot in films like these. Everyone remembers and complains about a weak villain(s): Iron Man II, Batman Forever, Live Free or Die Hard, etc.

If only more kids movies could show people being shot to peices by assault weapons and still play light hearted music to keep the mood comedic. Doom just comes in flexing his muscles like Johnny Bravo while everyone's dying left and right. He even shoots a guy with a pimped Nes Lightgun before telling the Mole Man to go ahead and off Alicia Masters all while comedic music plays. This movie is...darker than I remember...
