Hi guys it's me Wind of Earth, Wind and Fire. Thanks for all the love man. It wasn't easy writing this song with a spastic colon, but sooo worth it. Shamule baby. Peace out. x
look ath the album cover and study the metaphysics behind it, and the name earth wind and fire three of the five elements (water and ether being the other two) this is not by mistake but b design lets wake up they are telling you that in the music just listen.
EWF stayed at the Days Inn that I worked at back in the 70's.I met Maurice White and also one of the Emotions too.Maurice told me they had some down time and wanted to stay there a few days and rest.I said that is cool.No one else knew who they were and nobody knew they were there.I also saw Phillip Bailey but I don't remember talking to him.The Emotion girl was very friendly and nice to me.I am a drummer and this was a highlight of my life by meeting these cool people.
So thankful to have grown up with this music. I'm glad today's listeners are discovering the stuff from the 70's. Probably the main reason the music HAD to be good was because there was no video games, cable t.v., or internet. People were great at conversations (we listened to each other and didn't mind if all you got was a "contact" high). We spoke to the brothers and sisters like you hear on these albums.
YEAHHHHH! heard this on the radio. i likedddddd it. 35 years without it passing my ears. why not sooner? :P'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' I wonder how many people my age (24) are on a musical journey, trying to find the new hits the hard way, because the shit that's on the modern stations today makes me want to claw my ears off of my head.
If you guys want to hear more great hot bands from the seventies, check out... B.T Express, Brass Construction, SOS Band, Ohio Players, commodors, Kool And The Gang, Parliment, Roy Ayers...... So many to name. These are the REAL music that every-one has sampled from. So get ready for no Auto-tune or some drum machine. just real people popping blisters and singing until they get horse. these are there founders in funk music. I know your gonna appreciate music even more once you hear these bands.
This music is just the way it is supposed to be! Real music, no thugs needed!
These are real musicians playing real musical instruments. This music is in a class all by itself! Remember the song, can't touch this! This is real music!
Live music that you can go to a concert and hear everything for real!
You can't top that with anything. The real thing is what it really is for real!

great grooves set up for the bass! My current fav band to play along with. it's funny how 920 people like this and 10 don't. Pretty big difference, right?
Here's what we need to do. get rid of the trumpets and put in a synthisizer. replace the drummer with a drum machine. The vocals need to be processed through autotune, and we can use auto harmonize for the background vocals so the singers don't have to learn the parts. finally we need a "rent a thug" to do some rap over the musical interludes. If we do all that, maybe we can get this on the radio. Heck, it might even be a hit.
I disagree... it is perfect the way it is. Earth Wind & Fire is a legend group and RAP can not touch it. Maybe rap can learn from it but not enhance it.

I know EWF fans know how to appreciate tight instrumentation. If that is you, I would like you to check out a band from the 70's called Brainstorm- a song called Hangin' On. The album was called Stormin'. These guys could really play, but people slept on them. Tight precision with horns, and their bass and drums were off the chain. Tell me what you think.
@emmettk Their song "This Must Be Heaven" is one of my all-time favorites. Instrumentation is bananas! That whole composition is ridiculous, but the bass on that tune....whew! You gotta really search to find this kinda work these days.
I'm a 19 year old white guy who loves Earth Wind and Fire. I have converted many of my dorm mates away from modern pop and back to EWF, Steely Dan, and the like. This music is too good to ever die out.
@mikeplaysguitar22 Your comments are very enlightening! You're showing forth sound WISDOM for your age. EWF, Steely Dan you can't any better than them..
I was fortunate enough to see Earth Wind & Fire on this past September at the Hollywood Bowl and it was everything you could imagine. Amazing venue and it's that much better when you are there with a crowd that has a genuine appreciation of the musicians and the instruments. They were everything I expected and more!
Come on guys - seriously! These "X," "Y" and "Z" generation somethings don't have a snowballs chance on one of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport's runways in mid July, to ever be able to appreciate this kind of real "instrumentation" and "vocals" performance. My goodness, give them a break. They can barely get their heads around 'Gaga/Bieber' - let alone Earth Wind & Fire. These are waters that run a bit too deep, I'm afraid.
Same with Kool & The Gang - they don't know HOW to appreciate it.
Im 50. I'm white. Earth, Wind and Fire are one of my all time favorite music groups FUNK, ROCK or OTHERWISE. These guys were THE band to see back in the day. I mean listen to these guys. What chops...masters....
A Masterpiece!! Great song by a fantastic band!! I remember listening to this at USAF basic training at Lackland. Beautiful memories. Peace everyone!!
I'm just going to say this cause I'm sick of it. What does race have to do with whether or not this song is good? Judge the music, not the persons skin. Earth, Wind, and Fire, is one of the greatest bands ever formed. Their live shows were incredible, and their music was absolutely mesmerizing.....they were truly gifted artists! Awesome song! Thanks for posting it!
Billboard's #79 song of '76. Hard to believe that 9 folks don't like this bad jam, right, gang? EW&F hit #1 soul, #12 pop in Billboard. God bless ya, brother Philip!
Ahh Yes, one the various times seeing them. Remember when they closed the show with this cut. Both drummers and the keyboard player where in Pyramid Structures. And they closed up as the song was ending. AWESOME...SHOWMANSHIP IN FULL EFFECT...
Hello. My name is Getaway by Earth, Wind, and Fire. We're sorry (*In Low Computer Voice* INSERT NAME HERE) for getting in your head. It's a routine problem and we are working on getting it fixed as soon as we can. You are number 1025. Next number: 134.

Modern music will never compare to this.
