protestant7 Many thanks from Lima, Perú. The descendant melodic pattern of the strings in the 3rd mov, falls like a shower of transparent & fresh water under the sun of that far & transcendant shore at the extreme of the Earth where all of us want to be when we are teenagers! That is the magic of baroque music, its capacity to forebear the essential & polyaedrical dreams & longings of youth (love, space, innocence, heroism, tenderness, purity, etc, etc.)!
Wow, Amazing ! what a beautiful and clear sounded music. I like so much this part of work from Marcello (the II-nd part) ...Thank you for this great music.
@protestant7.Gracias por subir ésta joya en una interpretación que en su conjunto, posiblemente sea la mejor subida en you Tube, junto a la de Albrecht.
@mboyler100 Why! That's the Piazza Navona in Rome, of course. You can recognise clearly the Bernini fountain in the centre an that amazing church by Borromini on the left hand side...
Eric Macintyre would dig this. He's conducting or something up north. His french horn got him a gig in Europe @ The Brahms something...

Is this really performed on a baroque oboe? I've never heard one sound that nice before.

Thank you very much, tettigometra. I gaze at the painting as I'm in awe of both the music & the painting! Not much 'niceness' around these days.
orocatus 9 months ago
Can some please tell me what the painting is?
orocatus 9 months ago
@orocatus It's a view of Piazza Navona, in Rome. The painter is Giovanni Antonio Canal (a.k.a. Canaletto), 1697-1768.
tettigometra 9 months ago
@tettigometra Its form is dictated by the fact that it had been a circus at the time of the Roman Empire.
