Tried a couple RD's logmein teamviewer, but I keep getting the same issue when trying to do anything in swtor... Black screen, is there a setting I need to adjust? Assistance would be appreciated. FYI works great when not having swtor open
When you think about it your mouse and keyboard are remotes. They give you a way to communicate with the computer and tell it what you want to do. Why would using a mobile device like a phone to communicate with your computer be any different than using a keyboard and mouse. Not to mention why do you care if they do say its against the rules, not like they can detect it unless they hack your computer.
Hey Mike. First off i love all your vids. Second, i was wondering if you can put up more WOW PVP content like your WSG commentary. IT was a awesome vid. Cheers
This is what all gaming phones should be like and build in software for! Totally LOVE IT! Gaming Phones of MMRPG. They will sell the phones and give the MMORPG away for free with a month subscription of about $9.99 US %10 to the for hosting it and %60 for upgrades and maintaining it. %30 Profit!
Like everyone else is saying, yes. It's just making it more portable like a laptop would. As long as the app doesn't have any form of scripting or macros in it that would give you an "advantage" over other players on computer, then it is allowed.
Should probably be allowed. I mean, if anything it would give you a disadvantage trying to actually play that way. I don't think BioWare will be like "If you want to play our game you do it from your computer, not the toilet!"
Why should I not be able to access my game on the go with a device that connects to my computer? I don't see a good reason to be against letting people manage their auction house, ect while away from their comp.
It does not work with some games. Blizzard forexample makes most standard VNC/Remote Desktop viewers return a black screen when it is played over such program.
That is really cool!!! I may have to try it out. But I do think that Bioware needs to make an app that lets you do the crew skills on your phone or something.
This has been possible for a few years now, as it's simply using screen capture and remote desktop technologies. Your PC still needs to be left on, and your PC needs to be accessible via IP in some form.
It would be practical to give your crew companions tasks if it functioned through a simple text-based BioWare app. The solution in this video is not practical.
I do use Teamviewer from WOW to to check out AH pick om stuff in mail boks and sell stuff... much better then paying the 3$ fee for the AH on ur smartfone...
Of course it should be allowed, there is nothing much they can do about it. It's just remote desktop... Only people that don't really understand the technology will bitch and moan about it. I've used this for WoW Auction house too before remote AH came out.
Splashtop, probably the most useful app I've got for my iphone. The app your using on the iPad looks extremely laggy. I often use Splashtop to sit watching videos from my PC streamed fullscreen onto my phone/iPad as the sound is also streamed across. It supports control over the internet outside your local network) too but I've not tested that.
i don't see anythign wrong with this at all. it's really no different than if you were palying on a lap top it's just maybe more portable and less cumbersome.
happy holidays Mike best to ya, have fun and be safe!
there is NOTHING wrong about this. This is the exact same thing as watching tv in one room and setting a timer on your phone to go back into your study and resend your companions. LITERALLY the same thing. you are still playing THROUGH a computer, you are still a TOOL/APP to help you keep track of your companions. Like mike b said, this isn't a script or a mod. It's just added convenience.
Does that mean you can be like out at dinner and just able to check back with the game that is on the comp at your house? I dont see anything wrong with it, it isnt like a BOT or anything. You are still using up minutes in your life playing the game, just not doing it from your computer. Perfectly fine
Just a shame the proffessions are useless at level 50(except for biochem of course)

It's just a remote for your computer, however. But doing anything else than simple tasks would be so clunky on a touch device it's not worth it.

Yea of course it should be allowed. If Bioware have a problem with this they have a problem with the 21st century.

Give it time and we will see a crew skill app from Bioware. I would be shocked if it required a sub like Blizzard's app but we will see.

You still have to play the game to do it so, nothing wrong with it. Its just a really high tech remote control.
