People shouldn't spoil what Audi (and Lamborghini) create: stock unit is nearly sure to run up to 250 k km. (at least), tuned cars can do the same, but running 230 k km. from house to the service, and 20 k km on street.
@slam2610 what´s the point of having that kind of power in a "long ass family sedan"? you have the massive wear and the fuel consumption of 720+hp @ the performance of an average 400hp sportscar - the handling capabilities NOT included?
@3O2MuStAnG the point is that some people want a smooth riding limo-class car that has many horses under it's hood : ). I personally love those kinds of cars - I'd go for a smooth and tender ride any time over horse power, but eventually you'll want all the advantages of a limo-class car plus big horse power - that's why theres s65 amg v12biturbo, alpina b7, the audi S8, S6, RS6, the BMW M5 series even the X5/6 M. Are all of those cars pointless? :-)

I drove lots of light compact cars, family cars, performance cars and whatever. personally I would want a family car to be smooth, comfortable AND economical ( =not too much power and low in wear so you will not have to think about technical issues) but I can understand people who´re interested in cars combining daily driver capabilities and performance. so no they´re not pointless but shouldn´t be the first choice if you´re looking for a (true) performance car.

I think that having a smooth ride that has beast acceleration was the point of those cars - you know how it goes with driving people always want to try new things. which RS 6 is this ? The Evotech got 750 hp bombarded in it, while the normal RS 6 is 580, and I realy doubt that's the normal RS 6 or even a stock RS 6. 0-10 in like 2 seconds, I believe this is the Evotech.
@ZzryaEn0 That depends on what you buy @ MTM.. Mtm can get you up to 742hk.. You can choose between: 580,702,730,742 HP. But each has it's pricetag.. 742HP will cost you about 13.3k Euro's. 702 mtm = 3.9k euro's...
There are other companies doing 700 HP for 1-2k. You kinda pay for the brand..

@DamPekins naja...ich als BMW fan muss sogar sagen dass der 335d von 0-100 6 sekunden braucht und der audi rs6 R in diesen fall mit 4,2 sekunden angegeben ist. der audi rs6 r ist schneller als ein SLR McLaren und ich glaube du kannst kaum behaupten dass ein 335d schneller ist als ein McLaren oder? noch dazu sieh dir mal den ps unterscheid an: 300 ps zu 730 ps (original leistung; hp ist nicht gleich Ps)
@gangsters007 ich glaube er bezog sich auf den topspeed des 720ps audis. er sollte 340+kmh laufen und das schaft der slr eben nicht. er ist ein sportwagen mit einer völlig anderen aerodynamik. sie ist mehr auf abtrieb designed als beim rs6. deshalb schaft z.b. auch eine limousine wie der m5 g power 370kmh + der wagen hat einen sehr guten cw-wert, dafür wenig abrieb
Hmmm ich glaube der grund warum er 4.2 hat ist weil er das ESP angeschalten hatte. Mit ESP regelt das Auto das Gas weg damit die Räder nicht durchdrehen beim beschleunigen. Ebenso wurde die Launch Control nicht aktiviert womit das wieder 0.2 sek sind ca. dann kommt man schon auf die Werksangabe von ca. 3.7-3,8 sek (mit optimalen bedingungen 3.6sek)
@DamPekins werd ersteinmal 18 und mach deinen führerschein. dann kannst du dir auch selbst ein auto kaufen und musst nicht mit papas auto "angeben" - sofern man das mit einem 335d überhaupt machen kann :-)

laut dem vid sinds 4 sek, zumindest unter den angegebenen 4.5 fuer den v10 rs6 ...
der 335d schafft das bergrunter, mit rueckenwind und heimweh vielleicht ... angegeben mit 5.7 sind das eineinhalb sekunden die da fehlen ...
aber jenseits der 100 geht dem dann auch die puste aus :) (zumindest was die beschleunigung angeht ... im vgl zu diesem hier!)
Der 335d waere auch meine wahl (schon alleine wegen der zapfsaeulen :P) aber gegen ein rs6 bleibt es ein spielzeugmaschinchen ...
