  • If I had a Pound Sterling for every pixel in this vid, I'd have 5 Bob. That's right, 1/5 th of a pixel in the whole vid...but I like it

  • Is that downstairs at Bethnel Green Working Man's Club?

  • I'm enjoying stewart lee's dulcet tones. if he'd like to come and sing to me, he has only to ask.

  • Lee was a good comic. Unfortunately now he comes across as a chaotic drunk.

  • @foxfoxton i disagree.. i think he's well and truly found his style and is on a massive roll

  • @foxfoxton What the fuck. He is on the top of his game!

  • First time I've heard Stewart Lee sing, and hopefully the last too.

  • It's Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell - it's a great song when it's sung properly!

  • what is he singing?

  • type in 'stewart lee's comedy vehicle' and it's telivision pt 2

  • Does anyone know where I can find a video of Stewart Lee doing his 'Del Boy falling through the bar' sketch?

    I can't find it anywhere :(

  • i believe that routine will be in his new tv series coming in february

  • Cheers

It's quite funny actually, my brother bumped into him a few days ago in Watford whilst he was filming.

  • bbc i player, on his bbc 2 prog

  • Wow - two of my favourite stand-ups. I would have got a bit over excited if I was in the crowd.

  • what is harry hill's appeal, seriously, i cant comprehend it i have tried watching his show many times and it just seems like a kids show to me, care to explain please?

p.s. i am not trying to be condescending or offensive i genuinely want to know because it bothers me that it feels like i am like the only person on earth that despises it.

  • I think the childish aspect of Harry's humour is half the appeal for me. As someone who likes very cynical, opinionated comedy most of the time, its nice to have foolish escapism. Whats important is that it's childish humour with thought behind it, not just complete nonsense.

  • hmm thanks, i will check out his stand up at some point i suppose but my god "theres only one way to find out" reminds me of dick & dom in the bungalow :|

also good to see you are a fan of herring and lee! legends.

  • perfect response

  • Harry is an absolute master of using reincorporation. Its interesting to note than when I saw Hooves live it clocked in at 2 and a half hours, yet the DVD release is only an hour long. The way Harry brings recurring jokes back when you least expect them, expands punch lines and builds momentum for routines does not come across on the essentially heavily edited live DVD releases.

Also TV Burp used to be REALLY funny before it went all prime time. I recommend checking out some older episodes.

  • hooves was brilliant! I saw it in nottingham and met him after, what a dude!

  • I find it hard to comprehend a fan of Stewart Lee would need Harry Hill explained to him.

  • No, I'm with you. I don't even remotely dislike the guy, he seems really sound, and all the comics I like seem to like him. But I just don't really get him. I'm not even unhappy watching his stuff, I just don't really laugh at it...

  • don't worry about offending anyone, if you don't find something funny, you don't find it funny. comedy is subjective.

  • I used to think Harry Hill was just kid's telly on at nightime. But then the TV Burp format came along and it was pretty much perfect for him. I think it's pretty amazing that he manages pithy and funny on ITV, at 6 pm, on a Saturday!

  • you either get it or you don't

if you don't, you probably never will. It's meant to be silly, and theres nothing wrong with it being like a kids show, it's just a bit of escapism

  • chiiiiips chippy chiiips

  • @trustyification Chiiippy whiiippy whip whips :)

  • cool..

  • This is amazing. This clip alone validates the existence of Youtube.

Any more info on when this was taken/what the occasion was?

  • Glad you liked it.

It was in shoreditch, London a while back. It was a music gig by Harry Hill in a tiny working mans club, with banter inbetween songs - but stand up wasn't the focus.

    It was ace.

  • Witcheta Lineman

  • Brill! What's the song?
