No he's not insane because he doesn't advocate going back to pre Civil RIghts era. What he does say is that private business owners have the right to do business with whomever they choose. And for this he is correct. A black business owner doesn't have to serve a Klan member unless he chooses to. Government/public establishments are different because they don't have property rights int he same way. It's individual's who have Constitutionally protected rights.
I know you are getting hit with alot of this, but...entitlements are not a civil right. Also, the civil rights act is an amendment to our constitution, and he would not be a King if elected. He can't just cancel it. Only the congress or the Supreme court can do that. Thanks for the upload though. Don't get mad at me. I'm not calling you names like some of these people on here. I hate it when people leave rude comments on a video. I respect your opinion and mean no disrespect with my comment.
@FirstWhispers of course you are right, but in this new Obama/Bush era of doing things...liberties and freedoms stolen in the name of securing our nation..I think that Ron Paul has good AMERICAN ideas and values. I wish him Luck and if elected I would hope he would do his job and return America to its former greatness rather than to continue to push for the demise of the dollar, freedom, and open borders.
"they" neo-cons, have no followers. ron paul is grassroots"the people". the only ones voting for gingrich & romney are people working for them or them who they are working for. ron paul's campaign is funded by the people, not the corporations!
It's specious to suggest that Paul's stance against the abuse of unconstitutional federal power is the same as a desire to return to a pre-civil rights era. In suggesting this, you seem to be saying that rights in general are the government's to give or take away
@anphernie The right to private property is a cornerstone of a free society and includes making sure that you can make tell people to get off their property. Property being everything from bars to houses. If there is a pub in town that does not want people of red hair in it then so be it. The free market will make sure that people who do not like that, don't go in there.
You seem to have perceived the reverse of what I was trying to say. I was addressing the uploader godzhor, who suggests that Paul's desire to ensure that the federal government obeys the constitution is akin to a desire to return to the pre-civil rights era.
Although I believe that the constitution should be obeyed by the states, I believe everything outside the constitution should be left up to the states, per the 10th Amendment
@Ievolovel no not insane ,,,he dont mean literally...the constitution is just a standard and guideline and a base of ethics...those things shouldnt change...our forefathers put in alot of care on writing it...the gold standard is right as well...look at how our currency has steadily declined since 1913 with fed...so in theory your turning back clock...he isnt saying revert to old style just standards ...not insane ...brilliant
@6mechanix6 And about the gold standard... he's not looking to make it supreme just let there be competing money which will eventually tame the banking beast who lends out money it can't back. After that who knows, with a little luck the banking system could be completely reformed.
@FreeAmericaRP2012 we can only hope...i mean it dont take anymore than 3rd grde mentality to see the price of gold sky rocketing to see whats going on
@6mechanix6 basically turning back to the point we skewed off the path and went wrong...the fed was bad to begin with so then it should be gone...and so should big goverment and so on
