  • By far the best version. Who's Pegggy Lee, huh?

  • omg this bitch needs a sandwich but i fookin luv her

  • cristina monet's version is the best

  • the way she hits her head when the drum beats is incredible

  • Laurie Anderson and her are the greatest

  • I mean, fuck it... really, honestly.. IS that all there is? ramblings of a drunk man, still....

  • This song is THE best expression of modern human condition.

  • theres another version of this song and its not peggy lee but its the same lyrics.different music, different speach pattern.i wish i could find it

  • It's on youtube, it's by cristina monet.

  • @moodlndigo1 thanks bro!

  • sheer brilliance!

  • This is a song that changed my life. Seriously.

The lyrics are just so unforgiving. I know it's a cover, but there couldn't have been a better artist covering the song than PJ Harvey.

  • I am totally in love with the unique creative genius that is Polly Jean Harvey. Come to me, sweet PJ, come to me and we'll dance our troubles away.

  • I wish i could appreciate this masterpiece . i know, thumbs down

  • Brilliant... a special kind of creepy. Love it.

  • nup, it's not hard to find. i get it from the first place it's been published.

  • I swear... This has to be the most difficult album to find in my entire life... This shit iz soooo rare, so raw, so genius!!!

  • I swear... You guys have no fuk'n idea how hard it is to find this album!!! I jus discovered there was a video for this... wow. Super late!!!

  • polly jean is a genius, and her version of this song is amazing... but it's important to note, for those of you who are praising her genius lyrics in this instance, that this song is a cover. It was written by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller and originally recorded by Peggy Lee in 1969. Her version is also genius and innovative, especially considering the year it was recorded.

  • awesome song, and those lyrics are really innovative!

  • Those lyrics are epic!

  • i don't think that john parish did this one with her.

  • fact: it's from their album "dance hall at louse point". just google it.

  • yes, she is the fuc***g genius

  • this woman is simply genius

  • It's true, she's like a fairy in this big whole dream full of sepia color.

I woke up singing this, so i had to watch it. It's fulfills the emptiest soul.

  • Damn, how I envy you, have a great time!! I know exactly what you mean.

  • polly takes me to ...somewhere else,

    she's other worldly.

I'm at her gig tonight in bristol....

i cant wait to be blown away

  • yes. that is all there is.

  • Brilliant video for a brilliant song

  • Oh, no, not me. I'm not ready for that final disappointment...

  • NEW ALBUM MARCH 30TH 2009

  • I LOVE how she says 'fire'

And I agree with 'bybnilhn' : PJ completes your life in minutes

  • this makes me feel as if she wrote this

  • watching and listening to it makes you feel like you re in a dream wandering around and asking is that all there is to dream about?

  • pj completes your live's minutes...

  • Prefer Peggy Lee's but I love me some PJ Harvey and love her eerie take on what is already a dreamy song.

  • P.J.Harvey covers this absolute classic once sang by the great, great, Peggy Lee... Now the question is: WHY?

  • Did anyone else see the live show that this was a part of? Taken in context with the rest of Dance Hall this song makes a lot of sense. I agree - should never be compared to the original! I also agree - oh my absolute God! This is so fucking depressing, it feels really empty, but - this girl knows exactly what shes doing and I guess its meant to feel that way

  • just found out this is a cover - they're still cool but not quite as contemporary as i first though - these audio previews are nuts!!!

  • homer sings this song to rod and todd flanders in the season 12 episode Children of A Lesser Clod - how cool those writers are!

  • Is that all there is to the circus?

  • Empty dance floor and polly, somehow thats such a depressing sight?

  • pj's and peggy lee's versions have completely different approaches and it would be wrong to compare them. peggy lee's is better.

  • "it would be wrong to compare them" yet " peggy lee's is better"... you douchebag

  • nice one mate, nice one

  • does anyone know who directed this vid?

    cheers :)

  • what a brilliant song.

  • its hurting, but really good

  • "Is that all there is to love?"

  • Wonderful, I'd never seen this video before.

  • great cover! my pj's favorite album :)

  • sounds like churchsong with all the organs...cool though

  • Pleasantly odd.

  • pleasantly odd.. great phrase!

  • or perhaps its pleasantly odd?

  • i mean oddly pleasant
