The wheels and free moving, not powered. The pilot uses the cyclic to angle the main rotor to move the helo.

the rotor tilts forward to make it go forward
bazbaz101 2 years ago 2
@bazbaz101 Technically the rotors don´t tilt at all, the blades flaps down in the front and up in the back, so it gives you the impression of tilting. The rotorhub and mast are always 90 degrees relative to the body.

@Norgesmann these rotors are fully articulated so that is not true. this why you have a mast moment indicator.

I believe it was the wheels that was moving the helicopter. I live here in New Zealand in a small town called Kaitaia.
Our Air Ambulance does the exact same thing.
The model of our air ambulance is a
sikorsky - 76A
ZK-IAL &
ZK-ISJ &
ZK-HSJ

how was it driving about like that. Powered wheels or just the blades
eveningniteshade 3 years ago
HardStyleTechnoKid is mistaken.
Wheels are not driven.
The main and tail rotors are sufficient to "drive" a helicopter around like that.

Just the blades, I don't know of any helicopter with motored wheels...
