I've been reading The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris and now I'm a little confused! She talks about acheiveing the best eye makeup look by coordinating eyeshadow with eye color. Should skin tone also be included? Using her guide I have cool toned eyes but a warm skin tone, so wouldn't the colors I use on my cool toned eyes clash with my skin? What rules do you use for eyeshadow application?

I read the About Face book. Was hopeful to read something useful for single eyelids but instead it's just the same old "put black eyeliner ALL over the eyelid". OK for night but not very wearable for day =(

I love reading about makeup and making up! I have ordered 3 or 4 new books based on your recommendations and can not wait to curl up with a cup of tea and a stack of new books. It has been a while since I purchased anything new to do with makeup. I think the last book was by Kevyn Aucoin, which I really enjoyed for the diversity of models he used. I would love to see a book devoted to the "older" woman but I suppose youth sells more books.

Now I want ALL of these! I'm 15 and really interested in makeup artistry as a future career. 'Make-up Is Art' is a great book! and the 'Asian bridal look book' has also got a lot of beautiful styles and the looks are pretty much transferable to any race and skin colour :)

Hey Wayne! Thanks so much for this video! Real quick aout the BB Makeup manual, I'm a Bobbi Brown counter artist, and from what i've been told, the Bobbi Brown 10 step is designed for the everyday woman to be able to follow and be able to stop at any point and run out the door without feeling incomplete. The first 4-5 steps are all about the skin, then the last few steps are all about color. once again, designed for the everyday woman, not artistry =]

One of my favorites-No matter how outdated and strange to some it might seem, is Way Bandy's book from 1977 Design Your Face. He has an amazingly ahead of time approach, and brilliant "recipes" for face primer and techniques. I love it.
