@coryfin23 you have to add the source to installer. i'm not quite sure what the source link was but if you google around you may find it. it's quite old

no. i used to not but they changed it so that if u get an iphone they will put on the data plan whether you want it or not. this happened on September 15th, 2009. so this wont really help anymore.

we in england dont get installer... but then were not charged extra for EDGE or 3G, or 3G+ (You'll get it in america next year and it will be called 3G and a half there =P ) but then again were also not charge for picking up calls! (we went on holiday to florida once with friends from florida so we learnt alot =) )

@tvcrazy08 That's just wrong. 3G has been in the USA mobile networks with full support since Dec 2007. You were probably charged roaming calls (and roaming data calls) which are even more expensive. You can turn these off in Your general settings without Downloading Installer and BossPrefs.

thats in the 3.0 update. and that depends if you want apps to access your lo action. such as weather, so then you don't have to type in your location

yes it is, the E is going to still be there but it will not allow you to browse without wifi thus not charging you for data

at&t has not added it on mine for over 7 months. there is no charge at all, none extra for my bill for 7 months. it stays on my current family plan just fine and i've switched between a pantech matrix and iPhone like 10 times. u mean the $10 a month that you pay for your servies all together or old data plan that you paid 10 bucks a month for?

Guys I did something really stupid. I had 2 categories and one of them held cydia, bossprefs, and a few other downloaded things. I went into bossprefs and hid both those folders. How do I re-show those folders or bossprefs if I cant access them? Plz help!

Hey thanks for this. it helped me disable edge on my iphone 2.1 and i had my edge disabled for long time. but now i just updated my 2G phone from 2.1 to 2.2 and now bosspref doesn't work with it. would you have any other great advise or software to disable the edge in 2.2.

i have kept w/ 1.1.4 and haven't changed over. i thought that they added a feature where u tap the upper corner near the edge symbol and you could turn it off or on. i'm not 100% sure on this but u may try this

turn off your wifi too and try a internet app like weather and that and then you'll know if its off, if the switch is set to off then it will be off

click on the button "hidden" in the upper right corner.

tap the icons you want back.

ru sure u completely turned it off? like by holding the power button and the home button for like 10 seconds. make sure you have switched edge to off first b4 restarting the phone like that.

and just as an fyi, at&t will refund your money, just let em know your using it as a gophone

sweet! i'm glad i could help u fix that, well wifi could not work for many reasons, is it turned on 1st of all? if it doesn't work w/ ur your router than it could be many reasons y not. let me no if your wifi is turned on 1st of all, is so, see wat kind of router you have and if its secured.

it shouldn't, the only thing is that u should restart ur iphone entirely by holding the power button and home button simultaneously for so many seconds till it resets. then try it again and let me no.

thats the version i have and usually you just have to clear the queue and redownload

if that doesn't work then try using another wireless network. sometimes, certain routers dont let u install those apps from installer

the symbol wont dissappear, just disables it so that it wont cost you if u have a gophone.
