  • im athiest and this band is the fucking shit!!!!! i dont care at all about their religious affiliation. no one should. they make good tunes. thats what matters most. if you can relate religiously.. then good for you. but no one cares. we are all here because the good music. thats what has brought us here :)

  • JESUS IS GOOD. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

  • Just read what this song is about. Pretty intense.

  • i miss this Underoath so much.

  • <3

  • Drowning in my sleep I'm drowning in my sleep

Drowning in my sleep I'm drowning in my sleep

  • 6 people loves Justin Bieber !!

  • @thesecretone2010 We all love Justin Bieber.

  • They scream, but they are still sending a good message just in a different way.

  • can someone help me, i just listened to this and I don't get it. Why do these people scream

are they frustrated ? and if they are why are they ?

  • @Yesandsowhut idk man for me, screaming is a little bit like rap. It focuses more on the delivery than the rhyme or melody. Music that screams actually kind of chills me out

  • @Yesandsowhut It takes some getting used to but for me it's a passionate way of expression.

  • é uma cenoura aquilo ?aweouoiaueioaweuiaw

  • every time I see this video I like more.....

  • this is a nice venue, jealous

  • 1: 09 aaron drenches the mic in spit

  • proud to be atheist and has no kind of closed mind for music

  • what kind of dampener things does aaron have on his snare?

  • @rpsquared95

Oh, I'm sorry their lyrics aren't simple enough for you to understand. That's what makes this band so amazing, the fact that they delve deep and use a lot of metaphorical terms. The lyrics DO make sense. It's like a poem, you can't try to rip it apart and try to understand it, you make it your own.

  • @randombriannaG They say the song is about a Guy who is in love and decides that the world is to cruel for them to live in So, one night hes drugged or drunk and goes to drive and he wrecks the car to kill them both to escape the hate in the world but she is the only one that dies. Thats why it says "drowning in my sleep" and "Shatters of glass come to a halt, made sure you were buckled in"

  • Underoath is not a christian band... they are Christians ina band writing about what their life and thats God.

  • @THEcalebJweyant hahhaha good one ^^

  • I saw these guys live a few months ago... They need to release a DVD with keyboardist cam (can't remember his name)... Seriously, he goes apeshit for the whole gig... One of my favourite shows ever, and I've seen a few...

  • if the next time i see these guys, someone doesnt break my nose in the pit, im gonna be so disappointed

  • i love how they get the crowd involved :D it brings the whole thing together amazingly

  • one of the best live videos in seen.

  • gives me chills

  • 2:41 stop!! HEAVEN TIME! :D

  • Disambiguation sounds great, but the lyrics don't make any sense at all.

  • @rpsquared95 its because spencers lyrics are a lot darker based then aarons and in past underoath albums it was all a mixture of spencers style and gillespies style and now that it was just spencer he just took it all on his own and i love the lyrics

  • underoath siempre sera mi banda favorita

  • This is the Underoath I love, not the new line-up after Aaron left... Just not the same :/

  • @xXKillEmAll94Xx they changed their sound long before Aaron left...js

  • spencers screaming in this live version is 100x better than the studio version.

    way to go spee.

  • how about y'all just stick to the music you stupid fucks..this is by far one of the more amazing live sets i've ever seen..sad aaron left..

  • This band has obviously just been set up to spread christian propaganda.

  • @PolkaP1G Yeah sure, that was their plan 14 years ago...oh wait..

  • @PolkaP1G I'm a militant Atheists. As in I don't believe the world can be a good place until religion dies. Yet I still like Underoath and Norma Jean.

  • @clive2345 Militant atheist? HAHAHAHA oh man. Wooo thanks for that giggle.

  • @PolkaP1G Go read a book. Maybe get educated. Maybe go to a local evangelical church. Not being malicious. Propagating the truth isn't wrong. Plus if you think religion is wrong your gonna have a hard time with music as its either satanic, Of some new world belief, or Christian.

  • @rublab1 you lost me on the music part. there is plenty of music that is not religion based....

  • @rublab1

You're just talking out of your ass.

You also belive in fairytales and don't know shit about music.

    Nuff said.

  • @PolkaP1G this band in fact doesn't spread propaganda and you are the one believing in fairy tales. I listen to all realms of music most of it being secular. If they were spreading anything it would be fairly obvious. if they WERE spreading Christianity I wouldn't care. Its not like you came to this video with someone holding a gun to your head... unless you did, then that guy obviously doesn't care about what the Bible says. Listen to secular music if you don't like this.

  • @rublab1

    1. Ofcourse they are spreading christian bullshit, listen to their lyrics.

    2. How do i believe in fairytales?

  • this is the first song i heard from them a few years ago. I can not stop listening to them...One of my favorite songs and Band of all time.

kinda mad i didnt get to see them live with Aaron, still going to their shows though, but songs like this will not sound or feel the same with a different voice singing the parts of aaron.

Underoath Plz keep on making Beautiful music , idk what my life would be like without them.

  • so i think its safe to say if you listen to underoath 99.9% percent of the time you will get chills!!!

  • spencer is a great singer.

  • Same with me man I had these kids that listened to them at work and I hated underoath so bad but as I kept listening to them they grew on me and now I love them especially their older stuff. I'm going to see them live on February 4 with my fav band A Skylit Drive it's going to be way cool just wish Aaron was still there to make it twice as cool.

  • so when i first heard these guys i hated it, but i kept listening and now i own every song. they are musical geniuses

  • Just my Opinion but I think it's so stupid argumenting about religion on this great vid. The Band is always saying that they want to reach everyone with their music , no matter if they believe in god or not .I don't , but As long as we respect eachother , the only thing that matters is their amazing music . <3 I don't understand why someone can waste his time on argumenting badly instead of watching this video again and again ...

  • @MetalHealsMySoulx3 lulz argumenting, youz funny ^_^

  • @MetalHealsMySoulx3 I personally don't believe in god, but I never care if a band does or not, and I can always a respect a person or a band following what they believe in =)

  • Warning !!!

    It's Dangerous Business \mesemene/

don't try this with alive !

    wkwkwk =))

  • no idea arguing against aaron, he is a beast, a god. w/e u wanna say. Nuff said :)

  • I would like UnderOath way more if they werent Christian...

I dont hate Christians. But when I go on here and see all these comments like

"Oh thank Jesus for the talent he gave them!"

That's just saying like, fuck you to Underoath. Because they worked hard for there talent, god didnt say you have talent and they were born with it.

They chose to work hard and learn to play/sing and all that stuff.

  • @bloodhawkisawesome

i would say if you asked them, they would say it was a gift...juss sayin'

  • @bloodhawkisawesome Uhh yea God did choose to give everyone a talent. It sais it in the bible. And God gave these guys alot of talent. Not saying they didnt work their butts off to get good and get where they are cause they did! Idk if ppl think its all God but God plays a big part in what talents someone gets. and another part is how that person uses those talents. So yea..i Thank God for the talent he gave them! And that they stayed faithful to God and matured and grew those God given gifts.

  • I hope you're just fucking trolling.

  • @ShredableGuitar nope...

  • You believe that god was that one who gave everyone gifts and all that shit?

  • @bloodhawkisawesome giving anyone any credit for anything they have ever done is like saying screw you to Jesus, we didnt need your sacrifice that made it so God wouldnt obliterate us to the point that making music would be impossible.

  • most powerful song ever

  • this song is the best song i have ever heard in all the bands i listen to. the whole tone to it just evelopes my mind with life pinnacle thoughts and painfully happy memories. i only listen to once in a long time so that every time i do i fall to my knees in amazement

  • Omfg! Grittaaa biiien verggggas!

  • I got 11 stitches at this show

  • @jdruwitme I got 11 and a half =P

  • @tyler4girlz U bastard

  • so the people that clicked dislike were having gay anal and they accidentally clicked dislike

    fucking faggots

  • in the beginning was that smoke????

  • the guitarist with the sg reminds me of aaron van zutphen from confide. or atleast he used to be in confide.

  • spencer and aaron are the best together

  • @bullets4valentin98 *were the best together :/

  • It sucks Aaron left...to me he was like the band icon cuz he was the last original memeber

  • UO rules! spencer el puto amoo!!

  • Friggen amazing!

  • They sounded so much better when I was there. I think the video like messed with the quality. They sounded 100 percent like the album when I seen them here.

  • spencer's live vocals have come such a long way. Really this bands live show (video recordings anyway) sound sooo good now.

  • the extreme christianity is the only thing that makes me not identify with them. but other than that, a great band, also a big part of my live :)

  • That fill at 3:01 was so sick, I wanted to kill somebody.

  • @ianlovesguys

Thats what I thought at first too.

  • awesome Christian screamo

  • @theawsomekicker Not Screamo

  • @ditdadi3 they are Screamo..........if you want their official genre they are gosple/ post-hardcore (screamo)

  • @theawsomekicker Christian hardcore :]

  • Nooo!! Aaron!!

  • Aaron left..... = (

  • Drowning in my sleep...

  • its funny that they used similar(almost the same) chords like in Reinventing your exit

  • there isnt really a breakdown in this song

  • awesome band! they get better everytime!

spencer is the sh!t!! sick vocalist!! he is so lanky too lolz, he needs to do some pushups xD

  • beest song by them (Y)

  • @Sulpha10 all songs of them are the best!!!

  • @scarax146 Yeah you`re right :)

  • no offense i love these guys and i can agree with you but blondie was the only nice one:)

    i met them at walmart:D

    hahahah..i think i scared them

  • Saw them last night, they played this as an encore, AWESOME.

I went to get my cd signed by them, but I was like last in the queue and I think they were a bit sick of sitting there for so long, and weren't that friendly, but that's expected when you've been sitting down scribbling your signature on cd's for two hours.

  • @Guitarman1s wow i never thought they would be mean

  • It's not that they were mean, it's just they weren't as friendly as they would normally because they'd been scribbling their names onto merchandise for two hours. Except for Chris, he was cool. Spencer wasn't friendly at all, he didn't even reply when I said hi.

  • @Guitarman1s Chris is ALWAYS friendly!! and so funny!! x) Spencer.... he's sexy... hahaha x)

  • great crowd, they actually sign :D

  • Oh just to the people talking about his drum fills being "weird"...I do recall it being his band so he can kinda play it how he wants....Lemme know if I'm wrong haha.

  • @titusrisingrecords i would say soo, but to bad there drummer just left the band...FUCK

  • @halo1221 are you serious man? i was gonna take a mate to see underoath next time they toured!

  • @titusrisingrecords dude his fills are total weird :P thats why there fuckin crazy, its not a bad thing, i love drumming to underoath cuz it teaches me alot :P so yeah as a drummer i find them crazy weird but its awsome !

  • @titusrisingrecords hes actually not a founding member lol

  • @titusrisingrecords wtf do they mean being weird? if all the drummers didnt have their own style then every drummer will sound the same. His Style was PERFECT for this band.

  • @titusrisingrecords Well, u said let u kno if he's wrong so here it goes....Its not HIS band....its theirs. XD

  • @valentine69able I am pretty sure that Aaron was there since he was 14 years old, and has put the most time, practice, and dedication into the band. JUST saying.

  • @xyzDevastation Doesnt make it his band tho. HIS band is actually called "Aaron Gillespie"

And no Im not talking about "The Almost"

If it's not a solo album, one can't call it "his" or "Her" own band. Just out of respect, it's how it goes. If your a worthy band mate. I'm in a band, I kno how it goes. Only the cocky refer to it as "Their own"

  • @titusrisingrecords Their weird cus their to intense to wrap your head around.

  • chasing safety is my favorite UP album, just because it meant so much to me, and was a big part of my life. but i LOVE the new direction they took after it. ive never heard a bad song by them. also, the fact that they are a faith band with TONS of christian over tones in their music just makes me so happy and so thankful to god for using the amazing talent he gave them to be so influential!

  • @salamandergod1 A Tear Went down my face while reading your comment lol. But naw i feel the EXACT Same way.

  • @salamandergod1 u spelled god wrong.. You spell it God (capital G) :) haha

  • @salamandergod1 not a christian band anymore :(

  • @920connor how are they not christian anymore? in this dvd they expressed their faith and the only difference between then and now is aaron leaving. their style might have changed but not their faith.

  • @guitarguy8067 check out spencer's interview with bringthenoise. search underoath interview 2011. should b about 14 minutes, spencer says it might've been a mistaking claiming our band to be christian.

  • @920connor does it matter? did it ever matter?

  • @Kelspir yea, it mattered to a ton of people, including me

  • @920connor Underoath has and forever will be my favorite band. His message took my off guard and it kind of off put me seeing as he wasn't an original member so to say what the band should of doesnt seem right. But what he meant by it was that the band has never been a Christian band in the sense of worship. They all love the Lord and they use their faith in their music, but the band isn't a worship band as Aaron's solo project is.

  • spencer's screams now are soo much better than on record although they work with chasing as it was a more 'poppy' record but i like them now

  • for those of you dreaming to b musicians (i am one) and making it in the music industry this is the type of show you dream of playing. Underoath ftw \m/

  • @920connor yeah this is the kinda show i want to perform like UNDERØTH is amazing fav band since 02 ive a musician in progress

  • What in the world did Aaron do on drums at 2:57 - 3:00 o.O haha

  • a weird/awesome beat =P

  • haha I know. I kinda dug it strangely enough, although I'm not sure it was on purpose haha 0:)

  • Listen to album, its there too =]

  • Really? haha I'll have to have a listen! Thanks alot :D

I don't have any of their albums. Disgusting I know..

  • It sounds good to me :D

  • Actually it does to me now haha I listened to the album version and understand what he's going for now haha :D

  • it isn't funny. the old lead singer write this about him and his girlfriend getting in a car accident and her dying. :/ Look up the lyrics.

  • Actually your wrong, Spencer wrote this after a dream he had.

  • @xUnderOathx77 Sorry, but I was right. Look up the song on wikipedia.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, it's just a weird "drum fill" :p

  • @Ringarum yeah...but his drum fills will always be "weird" because he has jazzy drumming background..crazy off-beats and such.i use his style as an influence to my drumming.

  • but he did mess it up a lil bit.... :/ haha but Aaron's still amazing. so PSHAW.

  • @Ringarum for me 2 :)

  • my favourite song by them! butbutbut, i dont like it when aaron plays the song the exact same way as the album, its soooo muck better if he goes full out

  • um he spelled it right you god damn mother fucking cock sucking shit fucking ass ramming cock squeeze

  • eardrumsuicide : Killed it.

  • Perfect perfomance..

  • omg i would go gay for spencer Id gargle the gravy and everything

  • ...

  • little too much bro

  • -snicker-

  • haha.

  • ew..

  • ESpetacular !!!

    banda otima!!!

  • sounds so perfect. :D

  • best performance of aaron

  • i love the part around 2:28 on drums. sick.

  • :23 gives me the chills

  • 2:57 spencer is god

  • amen to that

  • 3:02 is like the best drum roll ever.

  • i have survial, kaleidoscope. got it 4 my b day

  • amazinggggg

    JESUS BLESS ^_^

  • yeahhh

  • i like how the name of the song has nothing to do with the song

    ITS GREAT!!!

  • I know its like that with most screamo songs

  • yeah it does. if u luk at the lyrics u would kno

  • NAH I DONT THINK THEY DO

  • ye they do

  • the song has to do with dallas taylors gf dying in a car accident, so it does have a lot to do with the name

  • Actually I read an interview with them and they said it's about a guy who wants to get his gf or wife killed so that she can get better treatment from God.

  • Thats the last time i trust wikipedia, lol well it would still have to do with the name then

  • Well it's accurate on pretty much everything else

The song "Cries of the Past" is about Dallas's gf getting killed in the car accident

  • are u sure, because that was the reason he left the band, and they had an entire album after cries of the past
