What nonsense to be so vehement in your opinions. Yes, they sing beautifully together and Yes I thought it was a magical setting - that revolving beach house/bunk beds bedroom was wonderful and cool and fun and only supported the fact that this opera is meant to be about (and for?) young people!! And if you disagree then that's just too bad. But for god's sake don't talk trash of one of Europe's best opera houses simply because your opinion differs.
Out of tune singing (especially Alfonso), ladies who "montent leurs voix) for anything above a D, odd vocal crescendos where none is marked or played in the orchestra, 1/16 notes not sung at the same time as the clarinets play them, no facial express of the baritone to show his motivation (especially in his recitative).
Don't be influenced by the (little) changes from usual in decor. This is just one more of the PERFECT renditions this incredible piece of music requires. There are just not enough stars in YouTube to rate them all. They just sing exactly what Mozart wrote, no emotion added - or removed (Now this video should be cut at 3:14 IMO).
I have to defend this cast..I do agree that the production is a tad "eurotrash", but the singers are some of the best I have seen... especially Sally Matthews as Fiordiligi and Maite Beaumont as Dorabella- but I rather dislike the Ferrando (I forgot his name lol)
What do you mean with `eurotrash´? Goethe says: if you do not search, you´ll never find. Means: of course there are some extreme departures from the normal path, but in the end it may reach a new aim and is not that conservative/boring like most US productions.
I love this production. One of the very best, in all aspects.

Don't mind the searching, but this time the director has failed to find.
