  • ok who is related to who as starcom seams to be one big family ?

  • why dont we have cartoons like this anymore, i dont want live action i want to see spaceships blowing things up, god dam childs tv these days are boring!

  • 3:35-3:43

Anyone else think that that sounds a bit too much like a sexual-inuendo, for a brother to say to his sister?

(seriously, would any male here, say that to their little sister?)

  • @SinnFein4ever I didn't see it your way and if anything he seems to be talking to both is mom and sister.

  • Tom Selleck?

  • I used to have this on vhs in 1991. Good times.

  • I noticed there is music from Jayce and the wheeled warriors in this

  • @DangerousD6969

not just that this cartoon also had music recycled from the Digimon Dub,if you listen really carefully you'll hear alot of familiar music in this cartoon which were later reused for Season 1 of the dubbed version of Digimon since shuki levy composed music for all 3 shows.

  • I've been trying to remember the name of this cartoon for a hot one thanks for the post I have'nt seen it in years.

  • they copied carl sagan's floaters idea :|

  • I remember the toyline just a little bit, BUT I've never seen this 'toon before!!!

  • I had a starmax bomber as a kid.....this clearly explains my addiction to the R type games too.

  • At 6:18, that music came from the Digimon dub.XD

  • I was immediately hooked with this series and asked my mom to get a me a Starcom Max bomber, which I had until now...

  • Oh my god, I am eight or nine years old all over again!! Thank you!!

  • Thanks bro this rocks!!!!

  • What ever happened to "DIC"?...lol

  • @clanghead

    Good question, not sure though.

  • @KristaMachine If you believe Wikipedia, got absorbed by another company7:Cookie Jar Entertainment.

  • @KristaMachine it got dissolved

  • @KristaMachine

It has been merged and is called "Cokkie Jar Entertainment". The name "DIC Entertainment" existed upo untill 2008

  • @clanghead yeah what happened?

  • @clanghead DIC was short for "Do It Cheap".

  • @clanghead I was curious about that too. don't know if you had a answer already, but according to Wikipedia:

"On June 20, 2008, it was announced that DIC Entertainment and Cookie Jar Entertainment were merging. On July 23, 2008, both studios completed their merger, and the company was completely folded into Cookie Jar Entertainment

  • @clanghead They went to porn industry, but they were "too short" for it XD

  • @clanghead this is just a guess i think they went backrupt and closed down there studio :(((

  • @clanghead theyre dead

  • @clanghead they quit. They got soft

  • @clanghead DIC had merged with Cinar to become "Cookie Jar Entertainement"

  • Damn! I had these toys when I was a kid and never even knew it was a cartoon until now! Idiot!

  • Fantastic animation quality, but at the same time, with all of these America-centric cartoons being dropped almost simultaneously with the fall of the Soviet Union, it makes you think that maybe the shows were part of a government initiative that was suddenly no longer relevant. This show had a killer toyline, too...

  • I have this episode on DVD.

  • Damn, I can't believe I missed this back in the day! The animation (of this episode at least) is fantastic. It looks much better than current, overly simplified and stylized American action cartoons.

  • TVP2 1992 i never fogget :P

  • @pawel1818

    NEVER FORGET

ile lat szukałem tej kreskówki ;f

  • they should have showed the cat dying from lack of oxygen to the brain or cabin pressure.

  • The U.S. government ought to bring this back to inspire kids to take more interest in tech. They should also bring back ROBOTECH. These cartoons made me excited about science! How is it that those idiots in congress don't have presence of mind to know that?!!! The storyline is and tech is believeable (minus the aliens of course). The use of magnets and other concepts made me wanna go into space!

  • @zmdmcgregor Because those idiots in Congress don't want our kids these days to be smart, just stupid enough for them to blindy obey the government. That thing you said about science though was quite impressive. Shows like this got me intrested in astronomy.

  • @Song476 ?? they stopped endorsing these cartoons because the cold war was over.

  • very impressive animations :O

  • I never saw the cartoon, but I owned the toys. I guess this makes up for not watching it when I was a kid.

  • thank you for this!!! i remember this episode so well..burnt into my mind.

  • Very dynamic animation, better than the stuff we have today.

  • fuckin goosebumps dude.

  • oh man the memories

  • Why does the research station look so evil

  • No, they only release them on VHS way back when.

  • Those alien creatures ar inspired by Floaters and Hunters from Carl Sagan's Cosmos!

  • Next to ExoSquad, this show had some of the best wind-up toys ever made. And even some interactive videos too if I remember right! The use of magnets was a nice touch too.

  • Pretty good animation for an US Show. Was it by any chance, a US-Japanese Co-Production?

  • I had the toys, the little men had magnets on their feet!

  • Maglock, ON!

Addymaj, that's literally the fugging coolest thing ever, do you still have them?

  • those droids remind me of the camera's on the celing in boot's

  • I used to love this - but not once before have I thought about that cat meeting the savage g force of space battle... Squishy I would imagine.

  • Oh my god! This takes me back. My brother and I used to fight over the toys.

We were the same with Transformers and Visionaries! :-p

Thanks for posting this, KristaMachine :)

  • Why should it bother the attack robot, if there are lifeforms or not?

  • Typical! In these cartoons (like GIJOE) there's a lot of heavy firing with no casualties!!!

  • Thanks for your answer. Funny, just yesterday I thought of that comment of mine.

  • @Vigobuzz That's where robots come in. Starcom's enemies are mostly robots and G I Joe's enemy Cobra had robots later.

This is one reason I prefer Japanese anime that have no qualms about portraying death and destruction. War-theme animes like Code Geass, Evangelion, Ideon, etc had massacre scenes...

  • This used to be such a bloody good cartoon. I loved how they payed attention to the science behind everything. This was like the battlestar Gallactica of cartoons.

  • nostalgo aftes tis epoxes me karga KALI DIASTIMIKI MAXI

  • i loved this : )

  • Tampons, away!

  • awesome post!!!

  • *overdoses on nostalgia*

  • Suh-weet!! I had some of the toys too and they rocked. I'd forgotten all about the cartoon! Was a bit of a short lived thing in the UK as I remember - Transformers still reigned supreme at the time.

  • Thanks for posting. I remember the Animation quality being a step above most other shows at the time, and its still true! Nice attention to detail all around wow!

  • I vaguely remember this but the magnetic toys ruled!!!

  • Yeah, I too remember the magnetic toys better than I do the cartoon. Great stuff!

  • The US space force...because all others are crap! lol!

Seriously though, I used to love the toys. Awesome stuff.

  • True. They'd NEVER get away with such today.

  • I once spent my ENTIRE holiday spending money on those toys - they were the business. All had some kind of moving/transforming part and the detail on the wee magnetic guys were incredible. As I remember, the plane with all the interchangeable cargo pods was the best. Also never knew there was a cartoon. Back in the late 80s we only had council telly so I probably just missed it.

  • I remember this!

    DESTROY DESTROY

  • Now THIS was my favorite show as a kid. Liked the heavy sci fi elements and whatnot

  • No kidding but it inspired me alot back then..of becomming a pilot hehehehe

i had the toys and i loved them i prefered the toys above GI Joe...!

  • SUch a great cartoon! And the toys were fantastic!!!

  • still the best series next to "jace and the wheeled warriors", "transformers",and "robotech".

  • I second that!

  • A great reminder of when American cartoons took inspiration from Japanese anime in that they duplicated the gorgeous animation quality. Now all the American cartoons are just self-consciously aping superficial elements of anime (exaggerated facial expressions, saucer eyes) while still looking like Flash-animated garbage. It's a real shame to think the animators who grew up on quality stuff like this and GI Joe are making crap like Teen Titans, The Batman and Ben 10.

  • Although we got Avatar and that was a good show.

  • I always liked this but that guy has a cat in his lap...WTF?

  • thank you for uplaoding these thhis is brilliant

  • Goosebumps !!!

  • Finally Some old skool for A change....Thanks!

  • Only in a utopian futuristic cartoon, would a cat behave like a dog...

  • The toys were awsome!!!

  • Yep!

  • I used to watch this show, but I couldn't remember what it was called. I only knew the commander always said "all fighters, scramble!".

    Thanks for putting it up!

  • I loved watching this show as a kid! The writers of StarCom really seemed to care about the storylines and it showed. An excellent exception to all the bad cartoons that were created just to sell a line of toys. Thanks for posting this.

  • I have all the videos, I would love to put them up when I get time. Hopefully they aren't being pulled down by the powers here.

  • Indeed, it's awesome, stories are pretty good and educational too.

  • thanks for this video.

    Brings back lot of memories.

I remember some time ago all the episodes of Starcom were on youtube, but i cannot find them now. You got any idea where they are???
