@Speedster159 When the front of the tractor is facing the same directions as the back of the trailer. Basically, it's when the tractor is on anythign grater than a 90 deg angle from the trailer

@TheGervarod From my experience, they've swiched gears going down hill when in manual mode. Go watch my "bad trip" videos, it will tell you what happened. then, the other auto I drove (and heard similar stories from other drivers) on mountains with ice, they've gone into "system malfunction" leaving it in neutral as your doing 50+ Kph down hill. manuals, your always in control of the tranny

Hello , your wife is good in trucking for a begining drive , reversing with a trailer is not easy to do ,i've difficults to do that with my car and a little luggage-trailer !! Now trucks are more easy to be drive by ladies ( automatic-gearboxes, power-steering and a lot of accesories...)

i find the automatics a strange truck i recently drove a 560 scania that had an automatic and i stalled it going up a hill as the hill was steep the scania couldnt change back fast enuf.

When backing I was taught to turn towards your mistake. For instance, if you look in your right hand mirror and your trailer is tracking off to the right then turn the steering wheel to the right to correct it. Same thing for looking at the left mirror and trailer is tracking left, turn the wheel to the left. Turn towards your mistake. I don't know, it always helped me when I was learning.

She is doing good. I assume that loud sound in first and second gear is the fan, I have always been curious what that is for.

oh wow..good for her! my hubby is in cdl school right now and i can't imagine putting myself behind the wheel and trying to do all that he's learning to do! she looks like she's doing great, i bet you are very proud!

pretty cool but in manual transmission is another I been practicing in a f8000 with fuller transmission and is a easier with practice in a couple a months I begin the training with a 18 wheeler

yeah, she did pretty good.
but i suck when i got to drive my dads volvo vn 770, shifting gears isn't easy, i grinded all10 gears out of a 13 but i got 3 gears right.
well your freightliner was a automatic. much easier.
